Despite knowing him for a couple years (not adding in the childhood memories that were erased), Eugio's death affected Kirito the most by far compared to any deaths he witnessed throughout the series.
Kirito is alright but imagine a separate series with just Eugeo. His motives and aspirations are noble, his flaws are realistic and he's not overpowered to shit. Such a great character

In the first part he's actively involved in the entire arc and defeats the antagonist in a 1v1 at the end. The story for the second arc is about the war and the US trying to extract Alice so that they can steal the technology, not people waiting for Kirito to wake up.

Even with season 4 she just kinda stood around pouting and causing earth quakes which didin't feel very impactful in the war arc because they had weakened her to much as a character not even just in strength and then gives her literal god powers and still got slapped around until kirito unvegitabled. Its more of a shame in my opinion than her ruining scenes, except when she was on the turtle that was kinda weird

Which further made Kirito look better when he saved everyone. Basically, the whole fight was to hype Kirito more. It doesn’t feel out of place to me.

HamedShahr his actually dead, what woke up kirito is his memory fragments that he left behind when he died. He “came back” with the same logic as how AI yuna came back. But Yuna isn’t alive anymore, it was just memory fragments that created the AI Version. Basically it was him but not him because the real him is dead
SAO is very inconsistent - ALO and GGO looked like something new, but it felt so cringey anyway. But in Alicization, it really feels like a great adventure - but the catchiest character won't be Alice or Kirito, but Eugeo - unlike Kirito, his accomplishments are realistic and understandable, without any "Powers of Friendship" and "Never Give Up" powers, which are valid in almost every anime. He was very consistent and his death is perhaps one of the most moving moments in SAO - and Kirito's expression is also very realistic at that moment - losing your best friend, who you spent almost all the time with is truly heart-breaking. Eugeo, to my mind, is what brings SAO as one of the best anime series back!

But in Alicization, it really feels like a great adventure - but the catchiest character won't be Alice or Kirito, but Eugeo - unlike Kirito, his accomplishments are realistic and understandable, without any "Powers of Friendship" and "Never Give Up" powers, which are valid in almost every anime. He was very consistent and his death is perhaps one of the most moving moments in SAO - and Kirito's expression is also very realistic at that moment - losing your best friend, who you spent almost all the time with is truly heart-breaking.
Eugeo, to my mind, is what brings SAO as one of the best anime series back!
