    I’m loving these reviews. I’m literally watching all of them, even for ships I’ll never want

      This was a fairly old one, too!

    Aurora was my first ship, and is still the ship on my.pledge package after all these years.

    This title is PERFECT for the Aurora!

    Great vid, also just a little addendum for those who plan to do some light combat in it. as of patch 3.9 you can now add size 1 gimbles to size 1 hardpoints, so you can autogimble all 4 of the guns the ES can potentially have :)

      Thank you :) and great point!

    Aurora is a great little ship when decked out. It handles great and with different components if can be stealthy or reasonable robust. I own ships worth heaps more but I still fly the aurora when it is the right tool for the job.

      It looks like a Lego brick but that comes with the functionality to build it how you want!

    I use it for a rescue taxi. If my big ship is stranded I can use Aurora to go back and collect it... also because the ship is dirt cheap in-game

    Started with an Aurora back in the day, I've upgraded to other ships since as most do but I've got an Aurora LX model in my hanger cause it's in my heart

      A satisfying progression too, no doubt!

    Hey Farrister, I know this is an older review, but like all of your others it's a well done review. The Aurora ES is an ok ship for someone starting out. I know the MR version comes with the starter pack and it's a little more expensive since it comes with access to the game. The LN I have is better armed but it is still an Aurora. All the Auroras are good for starting ships, and as you said, upgrade to a bigger and better ship is always recommended if a player is expecting to earn more in the game. Thanks for the review. Fly safely and I'll see you in the verse.

    I keep mine as back up. Plus I usually use it to loot guns in bunkers and server hopping. Also its easier to park in usually crowded bunkers and especially at ghost hollow when farming sniper rifle.

    The utility hardpoint is so overlooked, understandable since we don't have utility items yet. When we get utility items the Aurora will cement its place as best starter. Everyone should own one.

    I envision using an Aurora CL for provisioning support and/or individual transport necessities as a "parasite" craft for larger vessels such as a Carrack.

    The Aurora MR is my first ship, and the one I bought my first pledge with. And so far, as an intro to SC it doesn't disappoint. I ain't looking to blaze my way across the stars, and this wee ship suits my temprament. I not from your video that two EXTRA weapons can be added to the Es version, so can I assume the same option applies for the MR? Have you got a video tutorial on what to upagrade, what weapons, components to choose to get the best balamce for this wee ship? Respectfully Yours, R

      Sadly I don't, other than to suggest visiting erkul.games - I did throw up a video last week explaining some of the ins and outs of component selection, but it's more general than specific to a certain ship

    One thing i think is underated about these smaller ships is their recall times. You can get them instantly after paying a fee. whats also great is that these ships can traverse most of the system in one to two jumps. I use these and my titan as my money savers for traveling because they are fast and cheap. I was using my connie and glitches and restarts had me spending 7K a pop to get that ship claimed nullifying my monetary gains.

    I fly a prowler as my main and i still love to pull my aurora for fighting and boxes. Its an incredibly charming machine. My LN is a frequent claim jumper, runner.

    About to pick this up for $20 since I just upgraded to the MSR a few days ago and haven't been able to successfully perform a single test flight from one end of the solar system to the other due to bugs or crashes. It's a 30 minute respawn and I'm broke. I need a backup to get around in.

    • @Farrister
      @Farrister  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oof that's a rough one :( The MSR is absolutely brilliant, you've been unlucky there

    • @billyhyde1415
      @billyhyde1415 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think this is the main reason one might pick up an Aurora (other than the LN, which is a lovely little $45 tankette) -- it's the cheapest second ship you can have, for those unfortunate times when one's enthusiasm overwhelms even the minimal wait time on your main ship's insurance claim. That's not a WHOLE lot of reason, though, especially when that 124,000 can be earned several more times relatively easily and go to something better. But I can honestly say, every time I've flown an Aurora, it's been way more fun than I expected.

    If you want a ship that can get you to your other ships that you don't want to insurance claim due to loadout resets, this is the ship you use.

    • @Farrister
      @Farrister  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      A good choice for that!

    In my eyes the Aurora is more versatile then the Mustang. There are size 1 gimbal mounts to buy ingame now.

    • @Farrister
      @Farrister  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      When I dug it out to review, I was actually pleasantly surprised. And I kept to the stock weapons for the review, but you are right, 4 gimbal guns give for pretty reasonable firepower

    I bought the Aurora MR yesterday. I am planning on earning all other ships in game. I think that skipping the premier starting ship is somehow not the right thing to do. That, and I am a cheap bastard.

    Hello partners!. I have reinstalled after a year in version 3.13 and when flaying my Aurora LN, I have seen that the animations of the joysticks do not correspond to the axes that I have configured and, in addition, the Y axis of the left joystick has lost its animation . In this video I have seen that the animations of the two joysticks are correct and also correspond to the configuration that I had. Can someone confirm this bug in the animations for me? Thanks in advance.

    For what it does, the Aurora one of the best value ships in game. Only $20 and you've got a dinky piece of shit, but it's a dinky piece of shit that does everything you'll need in the early game.

    • @Farrister
      @Farrister  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Absolutely, and the fact that it's so cheap to operate, and so easy to fly is a great ship to give to somebody interested in the game

  • @Dervraka
    @Dervraka 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    A pity the poor Aurora series gets constantly dissed as the "Ford Focus" of ships. That boring, basic ship you only use until you can purchase something else, then never touch again.

    • @Farrister
      @Farrister  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I hope they become more common as the game moves to a more 'live' state
