As a fan, I didn’t get to live the unrestricted era so watching tandems made it cool to see the runs/slingshots that are not as prevalent in a big pack/cluster of cars. Would love to see it return in some way. Was watching one of the 2012 Dega races the other day and its the one where on the last lap Kyle Busch pushes Brad Keselowski as a tandem past a line of cars n won the race. I think the 2012 races really combined the 2 styles really well
Love what Kyle said about being behind the lead car and staying off to their right, just staring at the taillight. Considering he’s the second shortest driver in cup, that’s about all he could probably see unless they gave him a booster seat! 😂 sorry Kyle. I really do like you.
The only reason tandems were broken up is because fans were crying that Godhardt Jr wasn't winning and Godhardt Jr himself said he sucked at being pushed. The packs were broken up, the fans got to see incredible speeds, there was tons of strategy involved. Just another example of why NASCAR shouldn't listen to the fans.
Spineless old man hendrick. Took MJ to have the balls to do what’s right for the sport. I’ll never be a fan of hendrick again. Sounds like all I gotta do is bully Rick a bit and he’ll hand the keys to the shop over to me.
or he'll go crying to Chevrolet like when Ross Chastain had the temerity to dish back what Speed Racist was doing to the field on a weekly basis with his SLALLAAIIIDDD JOOOOAAABBBBSSS. Only mistake Bubba made at Vegas was not knocking Hard R out for all of the dirty driving he was doing.

Should do these race reactions more often this was fun
The tandem racing was interesting to watch. A shame it didn’t last that long. A very interesting era in superspeedway racing.
I was pretty disappointed when I found out they weren't making a "Throwback" to these cars, they were just "flashing back" to the race XD

This doesn't make a good case for the current version of the car.
