Not using it, doesn’t mean you won’t use them. Bags can have seasons in our lives, then go away, and come back again down the track. Don’t let them go too soon.
Amelia, sometimes it’s just nice to own a bag. Every time I walk past my bags, I smile. They bring me joy. On a side note, I saw a mod shot of you in black on black from head to toe including your knee high boots. I think the tweed Chanel would be absolute perfection paired with a monochromatic look such as that one! 🖤🤍
Exactly, and I was going to say the outfit you were wearing to make this video went perfectly with the black-and-white Chanel!! And with the Raffia Chanel, so you have great outfits that work with them. But we all have this issue lol. I have way too many. 😅
I remember watching you unbox the Arty Capucines and thinking “oh that’s a true collector’s piece and not something you wear.” Perhaps it’s time to exclude it from your official count like the Neverfull. I also love your love for the Petite Malle. I feel like it and the Chanel mini are the bag loves of your life!
arghh...the UK / Irish weather has been shocking....and now its too hot to even think about bags! Can't win! Your collection is stunning and I love how you curate what you own and why it means so much to you. We all have those bonds with bags that mean they are keepers, no matter what! Your black and white Chanel is stunning and looked so good on....! Quick question, you mentioned strap lengthening in the UK, would you share details please? My medium classic needs to be used more and wish it was crossbody :) thanks
Hi sweetie, I have 23 bags in my collection. I have bags I haven’t used in a couple of years too. I did selll a couple of them. But I love my collection now so if they sit until a pretty outfit calls to them I’m ok with that. It’s my collection and I love them all. So they’re keepers. I think you do the same as me. It’s all good. Take care 🌸🌸🌸
I love a good *jklux* because it helps me decide if I want to buy the real thing or NOT." That part right there. That's IT. I feel like people stigmatize dupes but for me, I pause on large purchases that are trendy or when I feel the overconsumption mania setting in FOR ME. (It's something I struggle with LOL! I'm easily convinced to buy things I don't wear or use. They'll literally have the tags and I'll even forget I bought something and have 2 or 3 of them in my closet.) Love this video!
There are a lot of bags that I haven’t used this year and it is crazy to think about it. My Pochette Métis bags (I have 3) were my most used last year, however, I haven’t touched them this year. Also, I haven’t used my Alma BB since November 2022.
Don’t worry!!! You will use them!!! Some times I spend months without using a bag… then I use it for a while. Love them all!!! You can send me the CC tweed one and I promise I will use it A LOT! 😂
I have this “issue.” I won’t call it a problem, because that is a disservice to problems. Your bags are very much gorgeous art and unique. You are a true collector. If I had those, I would probably be content just to admire them, honestly. Where I live, it is always summer, but I moved from Seattle, where it is always London weather. I have not used my black and brown LV, Chanel, Prada. But I also have not used a pretty pink and white canvas, very feminine vintage Chanel. I think the solution will be to build some summer outfits around the dark bags. As for the pink one, it needs to be paired with the opposite of feminine, I think: a white T and trousers.
This is a great video. I think its great to kind of "check yourself" in regards to your handbag wearing habits. But, if you love and aren't wearing them, that is okay too! If it brings you joy, it has a place in your life and your closet!
I feel your pain😵💫. So when recently shopping for my summer clothes (Atlanta, GA) I made a list of bags I need to use and bought outfits to go with a particular bag in mind. Yesterday I bought two navy tops from Amazon because I realized I wasn’t wearing my Aspinal of London Navy Lottie bag. Now I will have new opportunities to ensure this bag gets used. What comes first? The chicken or the egg?!!! 😵💫😵💫
Gurrrl! None of us wear all of our bags. Sometimes we gravitate towards what I call the repeaters cause they easily go with so much. Then we have beauties that we fell in live with. Could be the color, the fabric, the handle and we find them hard to style but we keep them cause at some point we will wear them. I was going to say maybe initiate a 3 year rule but scratch that. I have a fabulous old Prada tote from the early 2000. It is huge, buttery calf skin, with more buttery calfskin layered on top in pieces giving it a leopard effect but it’s all the same black leather. Didn’t carry it for 7 years…but paid a pretty penny for it back then so I would never give it away or sell it and now with big bags in I am rocking it and it is so good. So if you love them…. Keep them…you just might find yourself rocking some of those bags at any time.
I watched this video with my ten year old twin girls and when you were talking about the pink and grey petite Malle one of them said “she should put all her things in that bag and then put it in another bag.” I thought that was pretty ingenious tbh 😁 so there’s hope for you petite Malle yet!
Amelia, You have such a good vibe & energy, I love watching all of your videos, but this one was especially fun & thought provoking at the same time!!! Please do a "most used" so far for 2024, or in the last 12 months.
I’ve come to realize i enjoy owning and collecting bags. I have a few i haven’t worn yet either. Especially when it comes to Chanel and Louis Vuitton. Im against bags that can’t hold my phone. That’s my bag deal breaker! BUT now the Louis Vuitton Scott bag now comes in the trunk style and I have to have it. Im gonna order with my SA on Monday. It’s soooooo cuteeeee and cant wait to see it on the shelf with my other babies! I bought two Bottega Veneta bags: the mini Jodi and the mini pouch and i never wore them ever for a year and so I just sold them last month and i don’t miss them AT ALL, I’m actually happy i made space on my shelves. But when it comes to the Chanel and LV bags i won’t sell them. Like i don’t wear my LV Coussin but i THINK it’s staying.
When you mention your shoulder injury I thought about it the other day because I was in a pretty bad car accident years ago and the seatbelt cause the muscle to hurt a lot and it tightens up so when I wear a bag crossbody it can feel heavy. I just switch sides it’s on and it helps. Try that if you’re feeling pain.
I know that Covid isn’t a thing anymore but it has changed the past few years of our lives, including how we go out. We are still not totally back to normal. I also have a 3yo so my hubby and I don’t go out at night anymore. I have a few everyday bags that I just haven’t used because I have a small wristlet that holds my basic essentials and I end up not using a full purse. I’ve tried to make a better effort on using my other bags but like you, the cross body ones don’t sit right. I have 2 coach bags that have metal chains and are just under my bra line. I had a reduction and they’re still too short to fit cross body so I opt for the wristlet because chasing a 3yo with a shoulder bag is annoying lol. You might not have used those bags but next year is a different year, you still have 6 months of this year left as well, so things will change. You’re much bolder in your style than I am, I wouldn’t wear a sequined bag in the day but you make it work, so you still have 6 months to work those fendies into an outfit. Don’t be so hard on yourself. Next year is going to be totally different than this year and next year the list might be the complete opposite.
When I have a bag that feels neglected I just make sure to do something to use it. Make it store an item, part of a display, anything just to help justify its place
ok good! omg i recently bought the Bvlgari serpenti forever last year. she is a stunning white exotic in Karung, I told myself i would wear it once or more, I did wear it to a wedding, not sure that was a good idea cuz um people thought i had a snake in my bag and i was like its not a snake....its a serpenti lol. cutting to the chase its sitting cozy in its dust bag and i have maybe worn it once this year. All of your videos make us the audence feel engadged.
Can I offer two suggestions? 1) Maybe we should start being ok with not necessarily wearing a bag for a year (or two, or three?) without feeling bad about it. I think that more than just a bag, there is a purpose, beauty and achievement element to collections. For me the first bag I bought, I saved for, I was motivated to work and save for it, and I went to the shop, conquered my own prejudices (as someone who came from a low income background) and bought the bag, I didn’t want it to be pre-loved, or to buy it online, I wanted to walk into the shop and buy it, the whole process was an experience and an achievement for me, so even if I never wear that bag, the achievement is not taken away from it. You mentioned bags you bought on special trips, for example, that’s also a special moment. So maybe the bags are more than just a collection of products, but a collection of achievements, memories, moments and experiences. And the bags can exist as products but also is ok if they exist as something beautiful that makes you inspired to continue to work hard to be able to get more beautiful things. 2) Did you ever consider having a bad of the day challenge? Meaning you make a list with all your bags, divide that list including one bag per day (maybe every other Friday) and on that day you have to wear that bag, come what may. It can be a fun challenge because it will give you the opportunity to create an outfit around the bag. And you could even post the outfit photo on social media to keep yourself accountable. Just some ideas At the end of the day is not about keeping a list to make sure you wear at least once each bag, because you feel you “have to” but to have fun with your bags, because you get to, without any feeling of shame or needing to justify the purchase by wearing the bag. What do you think?
I love these ideas. Part of keeping the list to make me wear them is to figure out if there is any i don't get excited to wear and am only wearing because i have to, then i'll know they need to go.
@@ameliarosescloset There is something about the challenge itself. And like you said about how we feel. Do we feel Excited about wearing? Are we able to come up with different ideas to integrate each piece in a different way... another cool thing is accountability, sharing with someone so we can make ourselves accountable
You have a beautiful collection but too many bags in my opinion. I currently have 17 luxury bags and I am a long time collector. I only allow myself to have 20 bags max to ensure that I will use all my bag. I hope that you get these bags that you haven’t use in rotation before the year ends. Love your pink mini capuchins 🥰
Doesn't matter if you wear them a lot or not. They make you happy and that should be enough! Let's be realistic...everyone prefers buying "occasion" bags over practical neutrals because they are pink/woven/sequins/glitter/limited edition/fragile/silly small/cute and fun....what they are not is practical😂 Isn't that why we love them?❤😂
I don’t have as many bags but a few bags sit in my collection until I am wearing one specific vibe and then they are the perfect bag for it 😂 and that’s okay with me.

Hi Amelia I love your black & white checked Chanel bag 🖤🤍🖤🤍 you should bring her out I just got back from Dublin 2 weeks ago I will be honest I packed too many clothes for my trip I took one bag my LV it was hard picking between my mini pink Chanel 19 and LV I had so much fun shopping in Dublin the weather was lovely too we were lucky I wish I lived in Ireland felt like home 🏡 too me! Just had to share that with you
Did you scotch guard that little Gucci mini multi color bag? Curious and wondering if I should spray my fabric bags or the ophidia fabric stripes on my Gucci bags
Hi Amelia, would you mind sharing the name of the leather surgeon in the UK please? I need an extra hole in the chain strap on my Boy bag but I want to send it to a professional
I say no guilt and you’ll get around to wearing them…. I am working on the same thing as well. I have started switching up bags way way more than I ever used to and it’s fun even though I’m retired. To wear to the store, doctors office, lol and lunch, dinners with friends and the girls, etc…. Besides summer, seasonal and seasonal colors as well so that’s another issue.!!😂 extremely proud of you for making this video. It would be hard for me to admit all of this.
Amelia as we lose weight, we dress differently, our style changes a little bit without us realizing, bags start looking a little different on our frame and so that might be the reason that you are not using these bags as much as you used to! Just my personal experience
Really enjoyed this video. Some I thought would be on list and some that I was shocked by. I think the mini cap might find its way out of your collection at some point x
I think you're a Kibbe Romantic and you use less geometric bags because it's different from ornate bags, Aly Art has a Kibbe bags video. They look alike unless you're REALLY looking though. Coarse textures also look off on Romantics. A shiny or lighter coat can help? With a belt.
UNRELATED BAG QUESTION: Would you buy multiples of LV Neverfull NOW to capitalize on better prices, knowing that you love it OR not buy multiples, leaving yourself open to a work-bag impulse. BTW, I am a planner, and a loyal user, and would sooo buy multiples of a bag that is ME.
You could have travelled around the world for a month with the money you spent in those bags you don't use. I would certainly regret having bought them and would learn my lesson: buy what you love, but only if it's going to be used. (And yes, you are not alone. We all do that sometimes in our lives... and it hurts like crazy when we get rid of those pieces we never used.)
.. thats the problem when you have TOO MANY BAGS... its really like throwing money away.. cost/ use is horrible.... i know it, i have around 70 handbags ( its ridiculous !!! ) feel sometimes so sorry for my beautiful bags i dont wear that often/ not. 😞
Not using it, doesn’t mean you won’t use them. Bags can have seasons in our lives, then go away, and come back again down the track. Don’t let them go too soon.

I am lucky enough to have a P9 but have never used it. I love it But I just don’t reach for it. My goal is to wear it in July
I've worn mine a lot this week
Besides summer, seasonal and seasonal colors as well so that’s another issue.!!😂 extremely proud of you for making this video. It would be hard for me to admit all of this.
Thank you, I will use one now just to go to the dentist!!
Can you show your whole purse closet?
I have a closet tour video which shows it all x
@@ameliarosescloset thanks, I found it that day. It's beautiful 😍
as long as you have it and love it dose not mater
So true
Amelia as we lose weight, we dress differently, our style changes a little bit without us realizing, bags start looking a little different on our frame and so that might be the reason that you are not using these bags as much as you used to! Just my personal experience
Oh I didn’t think of that, I also feel I use different bags as well as I generally just feel better in myself
Really enjoyed this video. Some I thought would be on list and some that I was shocked by. I think the mini cap might find its way out of your collection at some point x
Thank you lovely, I really want to see if I use it
I feel like most of the bags you have not worn are just due them being a bit more seasonal in material/color
Yes that's fair
I Love You Lady Doir 😍 And The Purple and Pink Fendi s Are Wow's Pieces 💖💜
They are stunning
What do you think of the speedy trunk? I love it but the price is killing my vibe 😩
Absolutely love it but the price!
@@ameliarosescloset I’m going to just admire from afar I think 😩🤣😍
I think you should bring a small foldable bag if you’re wearing the petite Malle. I usually do it in all of my white delicate bags
I dropped it last night and it bounced off the road 🤦🏻♀️
@@ameliarosescloset hope you carry a shout wipes with you 😬
I think you're a Kibbe Romantic and you use less geometric bags because it's different from ornate bags, Aly Art has a Kibbe bags video. They look alike unless you're REALLY looking though. Coarse textures also look off on Romantics. A shiny or lighter coat can help? With a belt.
Oh thank you!
What bags do you wear for everyday errands?
Ohh the gucci boston bag, or a mini chanel normally
Sell the Chanel black and white tweed mini to me 😜
Lol!!
Ohhhh that mini pink capucines …. Add me to the list if you ever want to sell please :-)
Lol you's are encouraging me!
I literally gasped when you pulled out the 19! I want that bag so much. lol
Ahhh I know! I haven’t worn that bag in quite a while actually
❤
I think this is common when you have a lot of bags.
True
NOT THE SEQUINS!!! 😲
I know!! I will wear them!
I would yes, I know I will want another one as soon as I wear this one out
I really like you but but shame on you for letting those beautiful bags sit! Hopefully, they get a rotation this year 😊
I know!!!!!
Why don’t you pick 10 or 15 of your favourites and sell the rest.
Ahhhh!!!!! Not sure I like that thought!!!
Good point, it's a lot of money
.. thats the problem when you have TOO MANY BAGS... its really like throwing money away.. cost/ use is horrible.... i know it, i have around 70 handbags ( its ridiculous !!! ) feel sometimes so sorry for my beautiful bags i dont wear that often/ not. 😞
I make myself better by saying at least I come visit them!
