These places in BKK (Sukhumvit, Nana, Asoke, Silom) are very chic and cosmopolitan which is very similar to Manila's CBD. I only featured a very short clip of Khao San Rd which is a very touristy area to show what it's look like during pandemic .

I am from the Philippines and live in Los Angeles. Once upon a time, I had the opportunity to visit Bangkok and had a once in a lifetime very memorable adventure there.

I visited Thailand in 2018 and I've personally witnessed that your capital city is worse than Manila, and it is evident in the video, the prostitute in black dress. You may be advanced in terms of the transport system, but Manila is well-planned compared to BKK. Its skyscrapers are dense that can be compared to that western countries. By the way, Manila has ongoing projects such as subways and skyways that can solve its long-standing problem of traffic. If finished by 2023, Manila can overcome yours.

I have lived in Manila for more than six years, and it is magnificent. I have been to Bangkok too and love the locals smiling all the time. So warm and welcoming. But both cities have their charm, and both are special.

Wow manila it is better called the pearl of the orient as always. It has it elegance and represenation of its vibes similar too every city in the world either europe or the americas. Well they are both colonial ruler so you cant disagree and hide on it. They have the taste and their city is more spacious. Look at the streets you will feel always to be amazed. But i know thailand is more progressive country on the other side.

I always explored PH via google earth once in a while. Can you imagine your country and mine are mostly alike except of course the store banners ,ads and so on dubbed in English as you use English as a second language. I just hope one day I could visit there. Nice people and I would die to try so many underrated foods of yours.
As a Filipino i recommend Pancit canton, Palabok, Sisig, Bicol express etc some Filipino foods are not good at all our food is so bland and don't have much flavor.

@@kurwamacspierdalaj6716 yea Manila now is getting better day by day the LGU of Manila had a massive clean up to remove illegal vendors on streets, rehabilitate sidewalks and some slum areas are now converted into public housing and green parks also the trians stations are now Rehabilitated and much more comfortable now Manila is not beautiful as bangkok but as a Manileno i can clearly see the transformation of Manila until now i can't believe how they turned those areas inti green spaces. I wish Manila will become Bangkok soon more tourist.
You wont get lost in the Philippines, specifically Manila. No language barrier. You dont need translators to show your way. Most if not all speak English well.

Both are great cities and I have enjoyed both, Bangkok has a very unique feel to it with the abundance of street food, channels, art, and parks as well as world class shopping malls. Manila has a much more western feel to me along with the huge buildings, nice parks and also world class malls. Even though the Mall of Asia is impressive I think Icon Siam is next level. I don’t like some things about both cities, both have issues with homelessness, although it was much more apparent in Manila, and I really did not like the hawkers and kids selling things or asking for money in Manila. That was something I did not encounter in Bangkok. I have to say that I did feel safer in Bangkok than in Manila. These are just my observation based on my experiences of both great cities.

Pedestrian friendly walks are much better in Manila, including the layout of the CBDs away from major streets. Focal hotspots of Manila are sorrounded by well kept gardens and lush trees. While in Bangkok the center of attraction is always the shopping centers :)

Honestly speaking, both cities almost the same improvements. But Manila have much bigger industrial city by space and establishments than any other city in ASEAN. I'm staying at Bangkok for 2yrs and i love Thai people. So nice and I feel like my second home.

Thats because you have your business districts in isolated clusters in centralized area. Surround by all by decreptit even slum areas. Other countries spread them throughout their cities

great Philippines I love the Philippines, my home country, but I should say medyo malayo na tayo sa mass transportation ng Thailand. As in. The experience of going around Bangkok is far ahead compared to going around in Metro Manila. I am talking about all modes of public transport. Yes we are starting our own subway but by the time na matapos yon, madami na din sila ulit natapos na projects since both countries are progressing. If you’re going naman to the other parts if Thailand, the have SRT (train) and premium double decker buses. Anyway, the important thing is hindi naman papahuli ang Philippines. We’ll continue to progress.

Most of those proud Filipino trolls have never even sat down and share a drink with the slum dwellers. Those people in the slums of Manila were nice. But those in the internet who are always irrational is the reason Manila is so far from the greatness that Bangkok has become. The slum area in Bangkok is so clean and the people don’t eat meat from the trash bin. The slums of Bangkok don’t sell breakfast food for lunch and dinner. Food in the slums of Bangkok are served in the 5 star hotels in Manila.

We know infrastructure esp transpo is better in Bangkok but overall that difference isn't that even big. Remember, both Manila and Bangkok are in developing world. There are also slums in Bangkok admit it dont deny!
The reason why bangkok has more tourists because they havr mega airport and that is Suvarnabhumi international airport. Wait for the New Manila international airport(
(NMIA) which is already under construction. Once finished, it will become one of the world's biggest airport. To tell your frankly, The government is building international airports everywhere in the country. So expect more tourists to visist the philippines when this pandemic is over.
