Here are the competitors in round two of the Zone Accuracy event on Saturday, July 30 2011, at the PD Big Boy Pants Competition at Mile-Hi Skydiving in Longmont Colorado
Normally, right before you land, you 'hit the breaks', so you will slow down and be able to land nice and softly. They use half-break(dunno what it's called) above the water so they can get their foot in the water. When the break is released, the canopy is able to catch some more wind for a few seconds, which causes the rising off the ground
Unfortunately, I was not there on Friday, July 29 2011, when Nick set the record. I will likely post some of the distance video from Saturday though, when Nick had a few other runs almost as far. Watch for this on my channel...

What causes the canopies to rise off the ground when they are over the dirt? How high can they make it go?
