I've been convinced (for many decades) that dancers are different than most of us. Singers can remember lyrics & keys, musicians can hear a tune and play it, but dancers can see a series of moves and understand how it relates to a tune & rhythm and . . . repeat it, enhance it, put excitement into it. In my experience dancers are special.
all....great performers "act"..their profession...a singer is not great until he can convince you.that the lyrics tell a part of your life .a musician is not great till he can make you feel...his instrument is evoking feelings you once had......while there is much overlapping in these skills..it is unfair to say that only dancers possess them
@@jadezee6316 It's communication, each in a different way. I've seen each kind of artist bring tears to the eyes of people.
Most dancers don't see a series of moves and create their routine, most have professional choreographers to create them.
like anything else....start slow.....then turn up the speed.....some are better than others, in this.....ergo, this presentation...
She is doing all this in heels.... breathtaking.
Was thinking the same. Wonder how her feet are. Michael Flatley has a tough time getting around after so many years of dancing.
Proffessional dancers always wearing high heels. You can move smoothly and comfortable than wearing plat shoes. Try it. I'm not a prof dancer but feel the difference when dancing and also adviced by my dance instructor to wear heels when dancing latin, and ballroom dances. And you feel easy to do the dance and it's sexy as well. 😉
As someone who does ballroom I forget that it’s considered impressive to dance in heels hahaha

@@alecenteno361 Mhhh... Well, yes. The soles are different. They're made from leather that can be roughed up to give them more grip. Doesn't change that they've still got pretty sizeable heels on them. But the point is, most of those dances you're basically on the balls of your feet anyway, so heels don't actually add that much complication. If you look closely, in many situations not even those long heels touch the ground. Same goes for the dude btw. Latin dancing really does make your feet muscular :D

Thank you so much. Olympic officials have consistently snubbed the idea for decades, with no explanation for their decisions. I thank you for your observation.
That's because professional dancers *are* (also) athletes.
Edit: there's no such thing as "just" dancers tbh.
They will forever be the best latin dancers ever. In Assen (NL) during the WDC, we saw them win the competition for a certain 8 years in a row. Plus they have been number 1 for over more than 10 years. It is a pity that Riccardo and Yulia have stopped and we do not see them again during WDC competitions in the Netherlands.
They need to run sprint only.

This couple are amazing and may I say that they are the very best. I can't get over how she does this routine in high heels and lands on her feet every time just like a cat does.
Я не уверен конечно но я знаю что они были 10 лет подряд чемпионами мира по латинским танцам и последний год выступали они как раз в 2019ом тогда они заявили об уходе из танцевальных сорвенований а так как Jive обычно всегда идет как последний танец из 5и дисциплин соревнования... И судя по тому как необычно они закончили своё выступление (они обычно по другому немного делали концовку) плюс у Юлии кажется на глазах слезинки были... Я бы не удивился если это запись их самого последнего выступления перед уходом из танцев. Очень их люблю! Самые самые талантливые танцоры, трудолюбивые и как подходят друг другу.. Очень жаль что больше не будет новых рутин танцевальных от них.

You need to have a high level of athleticism to compete. It is not just about looking the part, you have to be able deliver.
These two will be sorely missed, absolute masters of their craft in the Latin genre of Ballroom Dance.
I think they are so good that they have to go to the next level, exhibition (and this means acting) and teachers. When you seen them again, they will be part of the price of admission, and you will be more than willing to pay (certainly for me).

Really? First and foremost jive is a swing dance and it needs to display that or else give it a name change. Where Helge is the swing? There's alot of shake rattle and roll goin on, but I don't see no swing. From that perspective I have seen plenty of better jives.

ralph. No that's not it at all. In some respects they are phenomena,l but for me they developed a style that many have adopted that has made Latin too physical in appearance. Because of their very small stature they can get away with this kind of athleticism and looks ok, but if a taller couple does it can looks completely hideous and often does. To me this jive looks frenetic and lacks that beautiful element of swing. Its a jive but its still a swing dance. Its a case of look how well we can move rather than hey look how beautifully we can dance. That's just my personal view. Cheers.
@@joetesta3352 Sorry Joe - It's not a swing dance at all; where did you ever get that idea? Y & R were doing "JIVE". You may have seen better swing dancers than Y&R; but, you have never seen better Jive than anyone who ever lived.

Брехня. Девчонки бегут. Их на порядок больше занимается танцами, чем мужиков у нас. Занимался, (пробовал, год отходил) знаю. Ушел в биатлон. А как не уйдешь, если среди баб один прораб ))) Всех ребят тянет на хоккей, мордобой и прочее. Менталитетссс.
Касательно признания и востребованности, да я вас умоляю, Цискаридзе из каждого утюга по пять раз на дню показывают. И с деньгами у него, поверьте не плохо. И преподаватель танцев профессия востребованная, мужики ценятся охренеть как, и спортсмены танцоры, пока выступают при деле.
Прикол то в чём ещё. У нас любого вида хореография на уровне выше мирового. В среднем. И лишних девчонок невероятно талантливых девать то куда?))) Едут пачками выступать за другие страны с тамошними партнёрами.
...ЗЫ. и чо в этом плохого, если это прямая культурная НАША экспансия?

It’s amazing that she’s not even breathing heavy after doing all the dancing. Wow they both have to be in such fantastic shape not just cardiovascular, but also strength in all of the moves. Bravo!!
