while true in my experience since they're hung on the same poles as the power lines in situations like storms or damage from things like car crashes both tend to go at once anyways, so the devs can easily explain it away with that if they ever read this and fix it. [edit] damn, nevermind, that excuse won't work because they show the power outage is just a fuse later.
I've been in an old telephone switch building and they use cartoon sized car battery looking things connected with copper slats. There is enough energy contained in them to nearly vaporize anything on contact.
Honestly, the only problem I have is the phone bit. 14:10 Power lines run separate from phone lines and actually carry a small electrical current. That’s what made them ring. But the power going out would not necessarily mean the phone would go out as well. Ask anyone that grew up before cell phones were invented. Other than that, seems like a really fun and creepy game. Great job. And I love Fooster’s reactions to literally everything 😂.
Unless the power outage is in an area large enough to include the phone company (and their emergency batteries ran out), it will still ring, since the power is sent through the wires, and not the electric line. That's why they did not need to be plugged to the electricity. It's annoying people ALWAYS get that part wrong, it breaks the immersion.

33:23 at only a 10ft wingspan i'd probably be sitting there trying to figure out what kind of bird it is at first tbh, that's well within a reasonable size for larger birds (eagles/condors/etc). I know it's supernatural but you'd think something more human sized would have at least 2-3times that in wingspan.
Your assuming it was a flesh and blood creature. The moment you think it might not be it's description becomes very believable. Moth man was given it's name by a newspaper writer who never saw the creature.
It's the morhman you are thinking about, he is believed to have been seen by several people before the silver bridge incident in 1967, I do believe it was a month or two before the bridge collapse that people started reporting sightings of the morhman.
Another scarefest! My day is made! Thanks to you, I just bought my first gaming pc and having a blast on Steam. Love all your play throughs! A big thanks!! Please don’t ever stop!
I grew up 30 min from Point. My sister still lives there. I heard stories my whole life from people convinced they seen the MothMan. You could tell it not just a story by how scared the people are when you hear their stories
It was only a matter of time before somebody made a game about the Mothman, arguably the most famous cryptid up there with Dogman and Bigfoot and Wendigo. The actual full scope of Mothman's effect on West Virginia goes far beyond just the appearances people witnessed. Would highly reccomend the original book written by John A Keel and 'The Mothman Prophecies' released in the early 2000's. As I watched through this I was picking up on plenty of things directly referencing ther original material so the attention to detail felt really authentic - the TNT area, the symptoms of the swelling around the eyes of the victims, the random silent phone calls, the mysterious men in black, it all adds up. The story in the notebook about the mother carrying her daughter and then collapsing as she saw it, and the sketch next to it, are both genuine eye witness accounts that happened at the time in West Virginia. The story of the couple being chased in their car was also true, and was the first encounter anybody reported. The story about the mysterious man appearing outside of a craft in somebody's yard is a direct reference to an apparent alien called Indrid Cold, who was seen around at the same time the Mothman was being witnessed. The man who witnessed this was a real person named Woodrow Derenberger who wrote a book called 'Visitors from Lanulos', which was about this Indrid Cold and his family allegedly taking Woodrow to his home planet of Lanulos. Indrid Cold and Mothman are two seperate entities but for some reason overlapped during this period in time. Even the part of the game where it was following you around from the outside and walking on the roof is based on another real life story of an eye witness. All of these accounts and reports are real, which is why you probably feel like you have heard these stories before. None of them are fabricated for the game, they were actually all reported at the time and based on (apparently) real events. Gotta give massive props to the creator/designer for the attention to detail surrounding the legend - he or she is clearly a fan of the mythology of the Mothman.
Foost on your next channel logo you've got to incorporate a flashlight! Every video is a "lumen check!" Haha.. love both you and fisks videos, much love from bonnie scotland.
Being someone who's from West Virginia and absolutely loves anything and everything Mothman... I LOVE THIS GAME! I've wanted a Mothman horror game forever! I must say many West Virginians are obsessed with our Cryptids!😂A sighting of Mothman normally means a disaster is to follow. People claim that right before the Silver Bridge collapsed, they saw a red eyed, 7-8 foot tall creature on one of the beams. Love you're videos Fooster! My cat Reesecup and I absolutely enjoy watching your videos! Keep up the great work!!❤❤
The story starts out so relatable... My dad just passed away... We had a falling out a few years ago as well. There's a lot to do and it's like it's own mystery that my sister and I have to try to solve.
@RedrumVideoProductns my condolences to you, friend. It's hard to have a falling out with someone you love and it's even harder to come to terms with the fact that the last conversation you had with that person was a disagreement or some other kind of discord. I hope you and your sister find some peace in the midst of taking care of your father's last wishes and I hope you find comfort in going through his things, learning what type of man he didn't show to others. My dad died when I was 19-20? (I genuinely can't remember and try not to tbh) and while he wasn't a good father, my siblings and mother found solace in looking through old photos and laughing over memories. It was very therapeutic for them. Many blessings and well wishes to you and your sister 🩵💜
Was about to comment this. I guess this game is made by a young dev that never had one. I grew up with one at my parents house and the power comes through the landline.
First of all, are we sure it was the father that died and not the son? I've never seen anyone so comatose after seeing WHATEVER that thing was! I would have been back in my truck and halfway home by the time that thing disappeared. Just sayin.... Also, thank you Foster for ringing that doorbell. 😂 Not only do I have my little Pomchi (Pomeranian Chihuahua mix) but I am puppy sitting his litter brothers. Yep, had to calm them down as they barked at nothing haha. I decided I had better wear my headset after that LOL. No, we don't hate you for that. They were all napping, and it was good that they all got up and expended a little energy looking for the delivery man in the front yard (and weirdly enough, in the backyard lol)
I’m almost two hours from point pleasant. They have a festival every year for the mothman that’s pretty fun .the TNT bunkers are pretty cool to visit and erie at night !
Hey fooster, you should play the demo for a game called We Harvest Shadows, the creator is a really interesting guy and the game seems right up your alley
This summer, I got to Point Pleasant, actually!:) I'm from Michigan, and we had went down to Virginia for a vacation. We had go like 2 miles outside of Point P., and so, we stopped, and even got some pics with the statue!
i gues there is not old people making this game... then they will have known that the phone do not go out when the power goes out. it has its own power in the phoneline
I get what your saying but it's a game my dude. The phone in question didn't even have a cord running to it. Hell every horror movie has the landline phones dying for no reason.
Mothman sightings usually include reports of people coming into contact with a man named Indrid Cold who is an extra terrestrial this game is pretty cool
Yeah the whole game is a reference to all of it.the man outside the window was probably indrid cold. The j Allen hynek reference also makes sense because he was there doing interviews.
Fooster, You always manage to satisfy my love for Horror, Survival, and Open-World games and always manage to keep me interested and entertained, And just seem to make my day especially before I have to work! Thank you so much for making all these amazing videos, especially on Horror Games like this one! Keep it up and keep staying cooler than Taco and Fisk!
This game did a pretty decent job building up suspense, I am interested to see where this goes. That and watching Fooster freak out is always a plus! 😉
I live not far from the Mothmans stomping grounds. The movie “The Mothman Prophesies” goes into detail about the legend. He supposedly appears just before a major disaster, presumably as an omen. W Va is short for West Virginia. My daughter wants to go Mothman hunting. Should we go? We should. Gonna catch pink eye.
I absolutely love the detail in this game! The different handwriting is amazing! I love when games do that. Not enough do. And the coffee-stained napkin that made the writing harder to read? PERFECT.
I live in West Virginia and was born and raised here. I’ve never personally seen him but I’ve seen something. I have a theory of who he is. There were natives of that area when it was invaded by white men and one of them was my grandfather Chief Cornstalk. He became friends with the white men in an attempt to save his people. While approaching a fort he was taken captive along with his brother and son. They were locked in a cabin to wait for the captain to return to the fort. A few hours after being there 2 white men were gunned down by natives along the river and the natives that did it fled before they could be captured so out of anger the white men went back to the cabin, kicked the door down, and opened fire. In his last moments Cornstalk cursed the land of point pleasant and the white men that were invading it. Stood with his arms crossed until he was fatally wounded and witnessed the death of his son and his brother. I think mothman is either my grandpa Cornstalk or a demon he summoned..
The mothman is the harbinger you were thinking of. It has been seen several times in history, and it has always been seen prior to a disastrous event. Probably the most famous is the sighting that was followed by the collapse of the Silver Bridge at Point Pleasant that killed 46 people.
The mothman has been known to be the harbinger of bad things to come an omen, where as the jersey devil is a winged creature that haunts the pine barrens of New Jersey, it's suppose to look like a head of a horse, the body of a strange looking dog with claws and bat like wings, it flies around The pine Barrens (a national forest or state park) in New Jersey.
Hi Fooster, thank you for uploading this I don't really playing horror games so finding your channel has been a blessing in disguise. Really enjoy watching people play horror games with a good story
Bud, I hate to say it, but I don't think you'd last a week in a country home. Noises of all kinds are common, but you don't panic. The power goes out now and then, but you don't panic. You see things (lived near Wright Patt for most my life and, yes, you see things), but you don't panic. Aliens/UFOs may come by, but you don't panic. Anyone from the city will likely have a rough time in an area like this because they all seem to go nuts over the slightest things, but us country folk will tell you, out there, it's just part of life.
Even though i grew up in the country, i will always startle at the sounds the house or building will make, will creak and groan, especially when temperature fluctuates, even in new buildings. The Sun is to the South where i live and the buildings get warm, internal temps are cold, and the shift and fight they make just to keep the balance can be enough to freak me out 😂
nah he would be fine, just like the country kids who come to the big city and can't sleep because of how loud everything is and how bright it is outside the window. It's just different and you get used to it. I have lived in both.
Fooster I just wanted to say thank you for making the hard times and the shitty days a little more bearable , I know I am not alone when I say how much fun and escape you have provided this community. Finding you along with with Fisk Taco Olaf and the whole gang has brought a new light and distraction from the harsh realities of the world , thanks for everything mate 🖤
Here is some information about the mothman that I found from a book: The Mothman was first spotted in Point Pleasant in 1961 by two people driving past Chief Cornstalk's hunting grounds, a park named after a Shawnee Indian who died here fighting the British in 1774. Since then, Cornstalk has been haunted here On an icy night in December 1967, the Silver Bridge over the Ohio River collapsed in Point Pleasant in the middle of rush hour, killing 46 people. Monster hunters blame the mothman for it A woman who met the mothman dropped her baby in fright (it remained unharmed).
It's weird but the mothman sightings happened during the month i was born 1967, November just before the bridge there collapsed, so it has been almost 58 years ago! God, i feel old! ha ha
4:22 You are a monster, and now I have two barking dogs I have to deal with, and I have to PAUSE YOUR VIDEO, CALM THEM DOWN, then when I do, and press play again, YOU DO IT AGAIN. And now I am back to say- well done 😂😂😂😂
So basically the main character has some mystic powers which makes this not so scary, it is also why the protagonist is sounding so calm through most of this.
Home from the train show, sit back, relax, take a nap-NEW FOOSTER VIDEO!!! Hmm… any badgers to pet, my Farcry Primal Bite Club Brother? My childhood poodle’s ghost is probably barking now thanks to your fascination with doorbells. A more somber note, but maybe something to consider: I know your dad is proud of you, Fooster, wherever his soul is now, resting or watching over you. If you can, maybe do something special on his birthday to let him know we all appreciate him, even though he’s no longer with us? Hearing the waver in your voice early on in the video when you heard the narration of the game saying “it had been six years since the fight with my dad”, it told me you thought of yours upon hearing that narration. He raised an amazing young man. So, why not do something special on his birthday in memory like a livestream some day? That way, we could all join in with you. Never met my own father, myself, but would gladly remember yours with you.
I work night shifts and I struggle sleeping during the day. Idk what it is about Foosters videos but watching and listening to them helps me sleep lol. Woke up at one point during the vid with the phone right in my face as he was being approached by mothman then I fell back asleep and dreamt mothman😂. Pretty rad ngl. On another note the moth man has always been one of my favorite cryptids. Glad to see my dawg get his deserved recognition in a game
Hey Fooster, have you seen _The Mothman Prophecies_ with Richard Gere? It's one of those movies that I saw as a kid that, whenever I look back on it, still seems very surreal and dreamy, even though it was pretty mainstream. It also takes place in Point Pleasant.
I've watched too many horror movies because that intro view of the farm lands you so lovingly coveted.......well I was thinking the opposite, like I was waiting for a UFO to slowly land or some giant cryptid running on all fours across the expanse. Even in real life...... I'd still be waiting for some horror or eldritch creature to start stalking towards me. My dogs don't care about door bells..... now, if you squeaked a squeaker toy, my Husky pup would have started yelling at you for teasing her, then look at me like I'm going to produce a toy out of no where.
Fooster, I love your videos anyway, but I love your videos about American content the most. It's great to see the things that seem so simple and common to us that are unusual to you and vice versa. Mothman is such a well-known cryptid around these parts, that as soon as I saw West Virginia, I knew what we were getting ourselves into!
Thanks for the videos you make for all of us. It makes my day better when watching and hearing you be scared or just play around. Keep up the good work!!
Hey Fooster! Just got done with your Alien: Isolation series, loved it. Gonna need to see you play through AvP 2010. Still holds up amazingly and the alien, predator, and human campaigns are fantastic.

Fooster, thanks for this and OMGosh!!! I could totally fall asleep to the dad's recorded voice... I have rewound the video a couple of times just to listen to it again and again.
I was on party-line telephone, back in the day, and like others have said phone doesn't stop working when no power. Unless the whole pole went down. Newer generations just don't think of that when designing programs/games

OR am i....... (o.o)
That's the scary part. The wings are too small to make something around human size fly.
It was a Great Blue Heron
Your assuming it was a flesh and blood creature. The moment you think it might not be it's description becomes very believable.
Moth man was given it's name by a newspaper writer who never saw the creature.
Your right, Painting is remarkably therapeutic, I now paint a lot to simply chill as my work life can be quite stressful, better than taking drugs.
I've been to West Virginia a bunch for work. It's beautiful but strangely eerie at night.
Well you do have a giant mothman flying around
I live 30 mins away from Point Pleasant, WV. Keep up the amazing work Fooster!
Me too !😳😱😯
It's the morhman you are thinking about, he is believed to have been seen by several people before the silver bridge incident in 1967, I do believe it was a month or two before the bridge collapse that people started reporting sightings of the morhman.
OK, the Mothman definitely made a dramatic entrance and made a perfect landing in the most scary kind of way.
Mothman content 😍 thank you fooster!!! Appreciate the upload!!
Now imagine fooster playing a game based on the Jba fofi
It sounds like the father and the son just took a handful of Xanax and can’t be bothered with anything
Sounds good to me… I mean sounds right to me, I agree. 😂
Right he doesn’t give a shit haha 😂
We just got back not too long ago from the Mothman festival in West Virginia. It was awesome! Well worth the 5 hour dive.
A landline doesn't need power for it to work.
Was about to comment this. I guess this game is made by a young dev that never had one. I grew up with one at my parents house and the power comes through the landline.
Updated landlines do need power to work nowadays
@@LadyGreystone Depends on where you live maybe? I just went and shut our power off to check lol ours still works without power

If you haven't yet, you should watch the movie "The Mothman Prophecies". So good. Great demo btw. Love your stuff Fooster ❤
The entire time I was waiting for one of the bells to ring on its own. This game looks good, anything Mothman or cryptids I am all for.

This has now become my favorite TH-cam channel, thank you Fooster! :)
P.S: I love you so much, You're always fun to watch, and you always know how to make Horror games not so scary but still scary enough!
A Mothman museum is in Point Pleasant,West Virginia it has amazing documents and Men In Black memorabilia
Don’t risk it! 😂 I’m local too😅
@@SOCMMOB do it! Pink eye isn’t forever lol
I absolutely love the detail in this game! The different handwriting is amazing! I love when games do that. Not enough do. And the coffee-stained napkin that made the writing harder to read? PERFECT.
Mothman is my favorite cryptid
Probably got this in the comments somewhere, but it's the mothman that appears just prior to a disaster. There was a half decent film as I remember.
This game looks like a fucking masterpiece from my dreams holy shit I can not wait to play it!
Smashing out back to back bangers (no pun intended)
They need to make a cryptid game based on the TH-cam UK legend of Owlman.
In the style of Bodycam
It's the mothman sightings that people say bring disasters. Part of the myth for the mothman is that it's possible extraterrestrial as well.
Hi Fooster, thank you for uploading this
I don't really playing horror games so finding your channel has been a blessing in disguise.
Cities also have sounds at night, they're pretty different from country sounds
@@whee38I’d feel safer in the cpu try hearing a noise than in the city…
The Taxman comes past.
Panic.
Here is some information about the mothman that I found from a book:
The Mothman was first spotted in Point Pleasant in 1961 by two people driving past Chief Cornstalk's hunting grounds, a park named after a Shawnee Indian who died here fighting the British in 1774. Since then, Cornstalk has been haunted here
On an icy night in December 1967, the Silver Bridge over the Ohio River collapsed in Point Pleasant in the middle of rush hour, killing 46 people. Monster hunters blame the mothman for it
A woman who met the mothman dropped her baby in fright (it remained unharmed).
Thank you fooster I’m going through a lot right now and your videos always seem to help
This game had me at “Point Pleasant”❣️
Yes ❤
Fooster, you always manage to post when I'm bored. Thank you ♡
It's weird but the mothman sightings happened during the month i was born 1967, November just before the bridge there collapsed, so it has been almost 58 years ago! God, i feel old! ha ha
XD sure mothman wasn’t there for you and not the bridge? Lol
@@zerotodona1495 No, i'm glad mothman wasn't there for me, i wasn't even living in the same state!
You've definitely got to do the full game when it's released. This one would be interesting and suspenseful
15:01 its always good to be calm in a scary or bad situation if your stressed you make rash decisions which could lead to you dieing
That house is huge ..
Guess what's in my pocket?
I didn't like it at all imo.
Fooster, I'm 8 months clean, new to you, and have been binge watching you to help me stay that way in my idle time. You're appreciated, good sir
Good job! We've never met, but I'm proud of you. Foosters vidss will definitely help. Stay strong, but reach out if you need help
@jimstacy1 thank you very much. Have a great day!
I'm kinda obsessed with the Mothman stuff! 😂
Great video!
Hopefully you will enjoy this then 😊 the devs seem to be big fans of it too and want to show a side to things people might not know about
Thanks for the videos you make for all of us. It makes my day better when watching and hearing you be scared or just play around. Keep up the good work!!
Just got done cleaning house and sat down to relax. A new fooster video was waiting for me😮...this made my afternoon mate👍

You should checkout the Silver Bridge disaster. It is part of the lore. Supposedly he was seen on it before it collapsed
Check out mothman and point pleasant West Virginia bridge incident..
I think there’s also a movie about it too, maybe a few.

Hey Fooster! Just got done with your Alien: Isolation series, loved it. Gonna need to see you play through AvP 2010. Still holds up amazingly and the alien, predator, and human campaigns are fantastic.

I used to live in an area of West Virginia that was known as the moth man’s territory, and we would go hunting for him on fall nights out in the woods. Or we drive around the outskirts of point Pleasant on our dune buggies, and four wheelers looking for him.
There is a newspaper article in regards to the bridge that fell because of the moth man, yes people do hype them up and make money off of the legend in the area. I am a firm believer that the Mothman is very real, but I have yet to see him. 28:36
