    As someone who works at an MAT outpatient facility (which does NOT prescribe methadone, plenty of research explains why) your methadone/suboxone clinic comparison is untrue, at least in Ohio it is. It's actually quite the opposite. We have had many patients who left their methadone clinic because of the lack of (or none at all) therapy. I have witnessed it first hand as well. We require all of our patients to participant in group therapy & individual counseling as described in their master treatment plan. Because you helped open a methadone clinic does not simply mean that you know, and can speak for, all outpatient facilites.

      @@DocSnipes The fact that you go into the different theoretical approaches to substance abuse treatment. I deliver correctional programs and our focus is mostly CBT based that while very effective may not work for everyone. Doing an MA is Psychology but your videos really reinforce and add to my learning. Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Only 10% of people with substance abuse issues have access to counseling services. Wooah That is very alarming and now I understand why there are so many drug overdoses.

    • @DocSnipes
      @DocSnipes  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is a challenging problem. Obviously, more funding would be a plus.

      I think that Often people don't get the right information about the consequences which drugs comes with. Not enough work to inform the youth. Parents are just not enough.
