The Burning of Llangernyw Yew marks the Last in the Derek trilogy of albums starting with 'Derek is an Astronaut' in 2022 and marks a departure from their previous long-format instrumental post rock. The Burning of Llangernyw Yew is comprised of 8 tracks leaning into riff-based post rock with heavier influences and verging on lo-fi as the album progresses and degrades. While these tracks stand on their own, this album is meant to be listened to as one complete movement.
This album tells a story of a world left burning with the unrest and turmoil of the ones left behind.
