well, it looks good, it handles great, but the looks is about the only thing in wich the TMAX is superior to the burgman, and I dont buy a bike by looks only :) the burgmans, as said, has similar handling (engine is layed out like in a normal bike), and has many gizmos to make you feel like you are enclosed, wich is great for travling + this films shows its faster than the tmax. and the gizmos are just plain cool: electric window & mirrors, heated grips & seatS, 12V charger, large storage!
I got a 2002 silverwing and it's been a great little scoot. I also got a 2012 goldwing. I use the goldwing for big mile trips it has 30000 miles bought it new and my silverwing has 30000 most I ride it local and furthest it goes is 1 to 2 counties over bought it new also. Now about 2 years ago I was considering trading the silverwing but usually I get extended warranty when I get my bikes. On Hondas they go out 7 total yrs. well my buddy has a m109 Suzuki I've ridden it and I'll admit it has a lot of power he took it in on warranty work. They said yeah no problem we got the part in stock tops it will be 2 or 3 days he calls back 2 weeks he said what's going on with the m109? He said well we got it done however we won't release the bike until we get confirmed we are paid from Suzuki. They were going through bankruptcy at the time THEY had his bike from April till JULY like a month later he traded it because he said he doesn't wanna deal with suzukis bull stuff. Now the silverwing they quit selling I'm 90 percent sure I'm going t max here in a year or 2. I rode the older generation t max power wise I'd say it's on par with the silverwing. The new one I heard has a little more power. I test rode a bmw scooter to me I didn't like it. It's a nice scoot and beautiful scoot however I didn't like the seating of it. Plus the bmw dealers I've been to 1. They rarely come down on price 2. Their service is expensive. Plus the t max was over in Europe before it came to America and it did well over there.
and about the burgmans handling, its a solid 280 kg, you cant get any more planted on the road with that kind of weight can you? it has also slightly bigger wheelbase and about the same road clearance (5mm difference) Those specs with the bigger weight, I wouldn want any other motor scooter on the highway riding between all the cars and trucks than on the burgman... AND its got lots of road presence. friend who rode in front thought he was chased by a FJR or something similar...

No, a lot of questions being asks, but almost nobody that proves its that crappy. ow btw, it are only the 2003-2004 models that were sensitive to those problems, from 2005 up, you are not going to read bad reviews about it.
you make it sound like the burgman is unreliable and handles like shit? if not, forgive my misunderstanding but let me tell you this, the burgman, the tmax and the aprilia 850cc are the only 3 maxiscooters (that I am aware of) that have a lay out similar to that of a 'normal' bike, meaning: engine up instead of at the rear end. I would say both makers (yamaha en suzuki) are about the same in reliability, with yamaha being my first choise, looking at its finish.
