Black Infrared 6s have a chokehold on me. They never fail to make me grin from ear to ear when I pull my pairs out. One of the few models that I actually tripled up on!
The shoe that makes me smile like that are the Gary Payton The Gloves, in white, with black trim and the neon green inside when you peel down the leather… man, I NEED those to re-release YESTERDAY!

I had the OG blue Foamposites in '97 and been a fan ever since. I wear Jordans the vast majority of the time but a longtime fan of Foams as well. On top of their design , i really like how well Foams hold up and wear over time. Haven't been buying many Foams last few years but this year def need these , the blue pair and the Galaxys. Eggplants might low key be my favorite Foams' colorway ; its the perfect blend of a colorway that pops / a statement sneaker but still somewhat subtle enough for the everyday rotation. Def need to add these and those other Foam colorways i mentioned releasing this year into the collection.

Although I like the AF1 ( preferably the QS high top), I always know that tread on the heal will vanish in record time. I've been holding the last pair of all white's I purchased for about two years now.
I've had maybe two pairs of them over the years. Tbh, I found them to be subpar. On my second pair, the air bubble on the heel somehow popped about a month after purchasing them. Since I keep plenty of sneakers, I only wore them a few times.

Eggplants was a weird release, cuz when they dropped in ‘09, it was a Footaction exclusive. I almost got fired for going to get them on my lunch break and coming back half an hour late, lol. Then the very next year, nike released em everywhere.
I have a newer candidate but when I got my pair of Li Ning JB1s and opened the box and pulled them out, a had a big goofy grin on my face. 😁 I had wanted a pair but they're hard to find for a reasonable price, so when I finally found a pair in my size and got them in, it was pretty euphoric. Such a wild design that works really well!
It was such a quick mention but I'm glad Grant Hill and Fila are still remembered. People don't realize how big Fila as a brand was in the 90's. Anyways, I can't wait for these to come out!
When the white/blue tmac 3s retroed a few years back, man I had the biggest smile I've ever had with a shoe, just because of the nostalgia factor bringing me back to 7th grade! Plus tmac was my favorite player back then... had plenty of better and more expensive shoes before then and since then, but none made me smile as big! 😁
I remember in middle school in the late 90s my friend had the iredescent green pair and I always marveled at the design. Some of those late 90s iredescent colors that nike was using were iconic and a total nostalgia trip. I never had any foams of my own, but the eggplants or PB&Js would be up my alley.
Love this shoes ever since. 90s and that shoes is the original futuristic. Never gets out of the line next to jordans shoes. I like the black box and color. I hope they have black foamposite too 😎
Folks may be disgusted by the price tag but I personally think they're worth every cent, grabbed the Anthracite when it released in 2020, lemme tell you these are freaking tanks! So so good as hoop shoes, if you get it you get it, one of those shoes that make me feel good play good! Full length zoom is obviously awesome, upper is nice and soft after breaking in (ypu gotta trust the process, it's worth it), conformed to my Neanderthal feet perfectly. I wore them for everything, hooping, biking, traveling, hiking (with help from those traction/spike cleats), school, work, rain, winter etc. 4 years in now and they still look as good as new, just some battle damage here and there, they can take anything you throw at them, truly built to last, these things will survive the apocalypse if need be! And they're totally badass on foot, I feel like freaking Batman with these on lol One complaint I have is the rubber that surrounds the herringbone pattern, makes up the outrigger, they get pretty damn slick at times, idk how to explain it, sometimes you land on the lateral side a bit too much and it's joever, like imagine hooping in boots 💥tho after it gets worn down and rounded out they're better (or maybe I got used to it), they're just not for the weak with sloppy footwork lol 😉

The foams from this year is the best ones though all the old ones hurt your feet after a few hours but the new ones they changed it up on the side part don’t hurt your feet any more like before

As far as the QOD: my smiley pair is the Nike Air Trainer SC “Bo Jackson”’ (auburn colorway) I had the OG’s in 1991 which was my freshman year in high school. I wore them nearly every day. Something about this pair just made me feel invincible. Anytime I see them in pics, on feet, pulling them out of the box, it’s just instant perma-grin for me. Takes me back to a different time…
Got the original royal blues when they came out at finishline. It was the most extensive shoe i'd bought at the time, 180ish sticker price if I'm not mistaken! Such a beautiful shoe still to date in my mind, they still blow me away! Sad but in a fire sale, where i thought i was too old for J's and bball shoes in general, i nearly gave those away in deadstock shape in like 2004 along with many other og's!😔
The pair that did it for me, Air Carnivore with that Jurassic green and purple. All the straps, pattern. Like the coolest toy you could have but in shoe form.

Iconic, epic. They were very unattainable for me back in my final years of high school/ early uni days. I even kept the Slam magazine ad of this shoe as poster. Definitely ahead of time, now finally Harden 8 and AE1 gives me similar vibes 25 years later.
The fire red 5s is what makes me smile. I used to draw that show back in 1990 in my trapper keeper notebook. It's my grail. Honorable mention...and drop of white cement 3. Makes me giggle like a little school girl
Once you get them broke in & they mold to your foot the get a lot better. Full length Zoom plus a double stack in the heal. They become more comfortable as you wear them. Plus they last forever. 18s are like walking on Boards on your 😂

I'm so excited that these are coming back. I had the 2017 pair, and I had left them in my truck, and someone broke into my truck and stole them. This is my favorite color in the foams, and my second favorite color overall, since I'm a huge Colorado Rockies fan, I've missed these so much. They're super comfy once you break them in, missed the double stacked zoom in my life.
I remember when the original royals came out in the late 90's. Everyone's minds were BLOWN. The page of the Eastbay catalogue these were first featured on was sticky. LOL They looked like space shoes from the future. Like the air mags in Back to the Future, but real and that you could actually buy yourself. These were such a huge leap forward in shoe appearance and technology that they were far too ahead of their time. Also no one could afford them at ~$200 a pair back in 1999. Might as well have been $500 retail in today's value. I saw them out in the wild only one time in their original release. Someone was wearing them at a gas station and my neck snapped so hard. I wanted a pair so bad. I finally got my first pair in the mid 2000s. Still one of my favorite shoes of all time for the nostalgic feeling it gives me. Sadly, or maybe rightly so, they don't go with anything except basketball shorts or sweats ... so they're basically dedicated gym shoes.
I've been an adidas guy all my sneaker collecting career before Yeezys and boost. Used to get clowned on in middle school and high school because they were Nike Schools. So when 2015/16 happens and adidas ran the game for a few years (15-17) they were running on all cylinders and being a broke college freshman in Chicago I couldn't afford any of that. Now that I got big boi money, I finally got a pair of 750's for under retail and that shoe to me is mythic. The foams from this year is the best ones though all the old ones hurt your feet after a few hours but the new ones they changed it up on the side part don’t hurt your feet any more like before
Foamposite one back when it first released was like the Cadillac of shoes. Durable built crazy and a $180 at that time was unheard of.

As far as the QOD: my smiley pair is the Nike Air Trainer SC “Bo Jackson”’ (auburn colorway) I had the OG’s in 1991 which was my freshman year in high school. I wore them nearly every day. Something about this pair just made me feel invincible. Anytime I see them in pics, on feet, pulling them out of the box, it’s just instant perma-grin for me. Takes me back to a different time…
The 17s that release this year are going to give me that outta the box feeling. I cannot wait for the 17s to finally come back man.
Got the original royal blues when they came out at finishline. It was the most extensive shoe i'd bought at the time, 180ish sticker price if I'm not mistaken! Such a beautiful shoe still to date in my mind, they still blow me away! Sad but in a fire sale, where i thought i was too old for J's and bball shoes in general, i nearly gave those away in deadstock shape in like 2004 along with many other og's!😔
The pair that did it for me, Air Carnivore with that Jurassic green and purple. All the straps, pattern. Like the coolest toy you could have but in shoe form.

The Jordan 8 aquas and Jordan 10 double nickels are shoes that made me happy soon as I got ‘em fresh out the box.
Iconic, epic. They were very unattainable for me back in my final years of high school/ early uni days. I even kept the Slam magazine ad of this shoe as poster. Definitely ahead of time, now finally Harden 8 and AE1 gives me similar vibes 25 years later.

The fire red 5s is what makes me smile. I used to draw that show back in 1990 in my trapper keeper notebook. It's my grail. Honorable mention...and drop of white cement 3. Makes me giggle like a little school girl

Once you get them broke in & they mold to your foot the get a lot better. Full length Zoom plus a double stack in the heal. They become more comfortable as you wear them. Plus they last forever. 18s are like walking on Boards on your 😂

I got mine the exact same way! I was deployed 2009, then came back... they were sold out... 2010 they came out again and I got a pair.

A shoe that when I open the box and makes me smile are the Lebron 11's. The first signature shoe I ever got for basketball, amazing colourways, awesome tech and great memories of when I played the most basketball in my life.
I had the smile reaction when I got the Nike Flight Huarache in the og colorway from last year. I felt like a little kid getting their new school shoes. they just looked so pretty I put off putting them on for almost a month, but I would look at them almost every day for that month!
Wearing my 17s as I watch this. These are one of my favorites investments ever. I need to use some sole bright and bring the icy sole back. But other than that. They look brand new 🙌

Theres 2 that wont make me smile but just tear up. Well one already did. I had the 2019 j11 breds I opened the box and just teared up. People were looking at me but I did not care 😂. The Foamposite royals will make me do that too im sure. My inner 12 yo will just take over at that moment. Its a YOU MADE IT BRO moment for me.

@3:00 My first Foamposite was the Ben Gordan Royal & Black, it was my rain boots too. I wore those to the ground and they lasted over a decade. Now I just have the Royal Foamposite one & the Silver Surfer Foamposite One - Dr. Doom and I love Foamposites, they are expensive but they last a lifetime. @5:00 Peanut Butter & Jelly, eggplant, coppers, people in NYC messed with these heavy. What was the galaxy and the one Rajon Rondo PE one he wore in game - I think it was camo or military style

I'm so excited that these are coming back. I had the 2017 pair, and I had left them in my truck, and someone broke into my truck and stole them. This is my favorite color in the foams, and my second favorite color overall, since I'm a huge Colorado Rockies fan, I've missed these so much. They're super comfy once you break them in, missed the double stacked zoom in my life.
I remember when the original royals came out in the late 90's. Everyone's minds were BLOWN. The page of the Eastbay catalogue these were first featured on was sticky. LOL They looked like space shoes from the future. Like the air mags in Back to the Future, but real and that you could actually buy yourself. These were such a huge leap forward in shoe appearance and technology that they were far too ahead of their time. Also no one could afford them at ~$200 a pair back in 1999. Might as well have been $500 retail in today's value. I saw them out in the wild only one time in their original release. Someone was wearing them at a gas station and my neck snapped so hard. I wanted a pair so bad. I finally got my first pair in the mid 2000s. Still one of my favorite shoes of all time for the nostalgic feeling it gives me. Sadly, or maybe rightly so, they don't go with anything except basketball shorts or sweats ... so they're basically dedicated gym shoes.
I've been an adidas guy all my sneaker collecting career before Yeezys and boost. Used to get clowned on in middle school and high school because they were Nike Schools.
So when 2015/16 happens and adidas ran the game for a few years (15-17) they were running on all cylinders and being a broke college freshman in Chicago I couldn't afford any of that. Now that I got big boi money, I finally got a pair of 750's for under retail and that shoe to me is mythic. Tho Ye is wilding, in that time he was the guy and this shoe reminds me of that era and all the friends I have made through sneaker collecting

Been trying to find these in the store man no luck. Might have to order resale pretty soon because these bad boys have been on my mind heavily and I’ve never been big on foams. Couldn’t afford them as a kid and now I only own 2 pair of black foams but these and the metallic reds stand out to me
11s. I actually had the real OG pair in 95 and the Steel 10s. Those 2 and the Patent Bred 1s are my most favs EVER. Smiling just thinking about em 😊
