Nice one Izack 🤙🏽. We listen to Clive Holland the part timer Monday to Thursday 😆. Expansion foam has a strip down its length, build it on flush and make sure it’s on the face . When the jobs complete tear off the strip and run your mastic joint up it 🤙🏽. Learnt that in the TH-cam comments 😁🧱👍🏼
Really like Ur Chanel my friend.just watch your back everyone can c u work hard mate I did it for 23 years really take of Ur back mate cause if it goes u can't even do a half shift 💚🏴
Always enjoyed having a keen apprentice, watching them learn and grow is very rewarding. I have 2 friends that cut their teeth under me that now run very successful businesses. So proud to have played a small part in their journey. Drew will be a terrific bricky under your guidance. Nice to see you in my home town of London.
Got to ask the angle bricks for the bay window what glue do they use to bond them together? Cheers boys great work as usual, you’ll have to get Drew on the shandys if he can’t take the beer and miss work😂😂😂😱🐾🐾
Excellent work again mate. Good to see drew finally back. You are a very patient man. Glad you're embracing all the opportunities coming along. You deserve it man 🧱
I’ve just discovered your channel and have been binge watching for a couple of days , I’m not a bricklayer myself I’m a metal worker and have had to fit to new brick work on many occasions and have observed what can only be described as questionable brickwork but watching you and Drew I’m obviously watching real craftsmen at work , I might even tackle the the small brickwork step up to my cabin but I appreciate its not as easy as you make it look , keep posting and I’ll keep watching Izzy 👍🧱
Hiya Deano! Thanks for much for watching the videos and I'm thrilled to hear your enjoying them all! Let me know if your stuck on anything when you tackle your Step and I'll do my best to help you 🙂 all the best mate and thanks so much again for the support 💪💪
Your comment on the bricks…..Wienerberger Jasmine?? Absolute pain in the arse…….I give them to our Yr2 apprentices if they annoy me? 😂😂 Good work as usual boys 👍
Great to see Drew back, but you'll have to monitor his meals!!! Last thing Drew needed was food poisoning! Busy week for you Izzy, and you're right to take any further opportunities as they come along! London trip looked awesome! Fantastic work as always! Thanks for sharing!
Self employed probably so unfortunately I doubt drew got much if anything at all. Even good bosses can't pay when someone's off for few weeks or months
Know uve talked about not wanting to do overhand in another video but I deffo would of done that on that tight wall u can still do overhand neatly just takes little more care and time
You seamd to grow up well as a bricky and taken a lot of challenges I to did the same thing but I went on to industrial units and office blocks anything with a bespoke design I ended up as a construction site manager on the Olympic village
Don’t know about the Brickies, but as a chippy I would pre drill and use a self tapper to fix these. Before health and safety went wild we would fix timber to steels with the Hilti pump and shoot. Now I think you need to go on a course and dance a jig to use one on site.
Quick question. You empty the mixer into the tub not a Barrow. I've never used tubs so what's the advantage. If I empty into a Barrow I could move into the shade or near the bottom of a ladder so Can't see the advantage of a tub
Hi Izzy, as a danish craftsman and architect I am wondering. Can you "only" do a half block lay? Don't get me wrong, your work is very very good. I just think that it must get booring working from one lay format all the time.. Any thoughts? I'll happily invite you over to show you a whole array of other lay formats that we use here. Thanks however for a good channel. Brgds Kurt E.
Hiya mate! Most of the time here in the UK it's half bond/halfblock. There are other ways, but it's very rare we do it. I'd love to see some examples of what you guys do over there😊 all the best, hope your well!
@@kurtthomsen9872 sounds like a fantastic offer mate!! Let's connect closer to spring and see how it works with schedules☺️ all the best to you and the family
How do you make sure on a large gable end such as this that the corners are in line with each other and are level to each other if it's such a massive spance...sorry not a brick layer or builder
Hiya mate I've swapped to Rhino build spot boars & stands. The boards are 42 quid. But I've got a discount code IZZY10, to save my subscribers some money ☺️
If cavity-wall insulation is to be used IN CONSTRUCTON OF THE CAVITY-WALL FROM THE VERY START ; there must be a LARGE air space gap in-between the face of the insulation and the outer wall inside the cavity ; this includes an air space gap in-between the face of the insulation and the cavity-wall-tie drip point(which is in the centre of the cavity). Ask N.V.Q. City & Guilds BRICKWORK teachers for PROOF of this !
I have . Last year in full sun a red brick house spli in a couple of places. A few course up from dpc half a brick from the corner upwards. Had an expansion about 3 bricks from the corner but still split. I hate the look of them and avoid them if I can
I honestly don’t understand how you haven’t got more subscribers. Your bricklaying knowledge is top notch! Keep the vids coming!👍🏻
Reduce the talking
Just about shit myself when I saw your name, the first other I've seen in the wild
Drew is heading rapidly for the nickname Sick-note

Izzy that foam can be flush you know as it has a slit on one side if you look which pulls off at the right depth for your gap filler

Expansion joints allow the brickwork to expand/contract due to changes in temperature
I made my own squints the other day for a diy barbecue lol came out okay but few mil out and they look shite
👍 just curious, how long since planning as gathered its 100mm cavity with concrete blocks. Why ever dont you use lighter blocks?

Awesome as always, the fixings your using into the steel column, are you having to pilot drill first? What fixings do you use?
Don’t know about the Brickies, but as a chippy I would pre drill and use a self tapper to fix these. Before health and safety went wild we would fix timber to steels with the Hilti pump and shoot. Now I think you need to go on a course and dance a jig to use one on site.

good to see you using a smaller trowel ,in all honesty you looked so awkward using the bigger one on brickwork.
