Haha, so awesome! I used to watch this show a lot when I was younger. I'm in British Columbia and I remember getting this show from a US channel called King 5, it would air right before Saturday Night Live. The Billy Quan bits were so great... and watching them again now, they are still funny.
It was actually from a Seattle based TV sketch show called Almost Live, but the skits were awesome so they were sold out to clips shows in other places. :) Almost Live was also the show that gave us Bill Nye the Science Guy. Well... Actually I guess Bill gave use himself... And he was a guest on local radio shows first.. But it was his first TV show! Look up Bill Nye as the superhero Speed Walker. So dumb... So funny...
i LOVE THIS!!! SO FUNNY!!! as an Asian i EVERYONE should watch THIS!!!! LMFAO TO THA FULLEST!!!! i love how the muzak mirrors 'Enter The Dragon', heheh =)!!!
I've been triing to find these Videos for a Very Long time now. I had all the Episodes recorded on VHS but I lost them long ago. There was a halarious Golf Episode where the white guy laso's Billy's legs and swings him around and around. And a Restaurant Episode called "Enter The Diner" Please Post these Lost Videos. They are next to Impossible to Find.
OMG Please post more Billy Quan! I remember there was one where he was shooting free throws and one where he was throwing floppy disks like throwing stars... I have been looking for them forever.
I hear what you're saying. I never knew JP Patches, but I grew up on almost live. OUr family's tradiaiton was to record both AL and SNL and watch it sunday. Often times Almost Live was better than SL.
@Mavericker7: It might've been on AFV after Almost Live ended production. See Wikipedia (Almost_Live!) for a complete description of the program. I was fortunate to have experienced the show from start to end. It came on KING-TV before SNL. Eventually, SNL was no longer funny, and we just turned the TV off after Almost Live.
@pjz123 My family and i used to record this show and SNL every Sunday and watch it as a family. And yes, AL usually outclassed SNL. If you don't come from the area you won't get most of it, but I'm 100 miles from Seattle.. and this brings back many good memories.
Most of the local humor, for obvious reasons, was stripped from the syndication for the non Seattle area. At least from what I understand. Which is understandable... I'm just glad you got to enjoy the rest of it at least. I'm pretty sure Ballard jokes would be lost on ya.. :)
Quan's fly kick.. Norri's roundhouse is a one trick pony.. even granted it's a good kick it has to follow the laws of physics. Not so much with Mr Quan.

@@sillygoose635Almost Live was made and aired in Seattle.
Heywire TV baby! I was in middle school when this was aired! A short lived funny show on Fox! :-)

Christopher C. Cooper , Good to know! I'll have to go and check that out! Too bad it couldn't have stayed on longer! Did you live in Seattle?
This was filmed at Jillian's on Westlake. I loved this show.
Sweet, I just noticed they were playing at Jillian's! That's my favorite pool hall/party place in Seattle!

I'm from Vancouver(BC) too and for me it was tradition to watch Almost Live followed by SNL when it was actually GOOD. heh.
SNL is still Good lol

Remember kids...Be like Billy...behave yourself!
the first 30 seconds of this vid made my day. The look on his face. Beautiful
I am just left wondering what's deadlier...Chuck Norris's roundhouse, or this guy's fly-kick!
Andrew Rae drop kick
Wow. Haven't seen this in years. Used to watch this show all the time. Amazing what you can dig up on youtube.
gotta love the Flying Dropkick.

Sweetness... I used to watch this on Haywire with Gilbert Godfret.
OMG Please post more Billy Quan! I remember there was one where he was shooting free throws and one where he was throwing floppy disks like throwing stars... I have been looking for them forever.

Oh God, it's like watching an ANIME. Well, a poorly dubbed one anyway.

Heh, they did this in The Gamers.
It's people like "Minnesota Fathead" that ruin the game with misconduct.
The vids we watch in hell...
