This tester will not test the most popular cable in the world...a standard guitar, or pedal cable. BUYER BEWARE!!! Beringer...LOL! Still..good video though.
Of course it will test it, you just need to know what you are doing. Every unbalanced cable technically speaking has a short between the ring and sleeve, so the tester is telling the truth. And you know visually before testing, if you're testing a 2 or 3 pin cable. On the other hand, it is possible that a balanced, 3 pin Jack cable has a short between ring and sleeve, and this tester is going to indicate it, which is useful. You can use a RCA-Jack adapter as a last resort, if it's so much of an issue, which it isn't btw.
