This video was extremely informative and you went into great detail, flying has been a passion of mine and I never really knew the path to make it my career. You helped me take my first steps, thank you. You earned a sub!
NEED ADVICE: Scott i’m 16 years old and being an airline pilot has been my dream since i was 4 years old. I started looking into the cost a few months ago and found out it’s on average around $100k to go to flight school. How do you recon I combat this? I don’t have $100k laying around, and neither do my parents. Do I get a loan out for $100k and be in debt? Or should I go the military route? and how does that work to use military to pay for a fast track flight school? Does the military pay for aviation college tuitions? I’m really passionate about this career path and the lifestyle it holds. Please someone give me some insight on how I can combat the price of this beautiful career.
Military route. You get the training, high-level experience, and do not have to go into debt. Do the allotted years for a pilot contract or go reserves.
@@GeeWillz269Hello, currently working at Envoy right now. The best route for you is to just take out a loan, once you finish flight school you will be making a good salary and be able to pay the debt off very soon.
Military is the long slow route. If you're gonna do a part 141 school like ATP there are grants and scholarships you can get to help pay for it. Although you don't need to go that route, there are other cheaper, arguably better routes to take. But at the end of the day, if you're gonna commit 100%, then you'll be able to pay off that debt in a couple years and it'll be worth it.
Thank you for video: I always wanted to be pilot but the first obstacle is financial condition. I am from Nepal and now i am currently in Sydney ..I took IT in bachelor and now i am working towards my PR …I am thinking to start kicking off my dream once I get PR … IF DIDNT GET PR too, I will pursue my dream in near future when i will be financially stable ❤❤❤
Im a little curious. This question won't stop me, I would like to know just how much you think the cost to cover both getting the private airline license and the commercial pilot airline license. Will be grateful for your advice
@@stanleymathers258 from my research yes and no. cuz yes you do get the license but then major airlines requires alot of hours to get the captain airline pilot. But you can still fly for them if not then smaller airline or a flying for a private sector can work too. for eg if you cant join to a major airline yet you can either do caben crew and gain hours or fly a private jet for someone and gain the hours.
Very well explained, such a time saver this video , you answered all the questions in 15 minutes that otherwise took days watching numerous videos

i'm wondering how old i should be to sign up to be a student pilot, i've booked my discovery flight and is currently 14
Which pilot school is better for international students? Or they should better to college for aviation?
Am a Ghanaian i want to be a pilot but I not now how to go about it but I have my SHS certificate
Does anybody think it’s too late to start at 29 … about to be 30… 😓

Birthday gift to myself becoming a pilot
Are all the discovery flights the same? Or they have different kinds?
They are mostly all the same! The only difference is some schools have different types of airplanes than others!
There’s 2. You can either discover the flight or the pilot
@@ScottSchumacher thanks!
