My dog, a three year old border collie, is named Panda. So I liked your vid. Also thank you for the info. I’ll use it to install a BMC filter on my ‘08 Fireblade soon.
Your filter should be more than hand tight. My manual says 19 Lb-Ft. And the drain bolt should be 22 Lb-Ft. For the extra minute that it takes, I always use a torque wrench.
PandaRant Moto you should also put some new oil in the new filter before putting it on, that way your engine doesn't have to pump the oil into the filter when you start your bike and it won't be dry when you start :)
It was 10/40 I believe. I just went to my local Honda dealer and bought oil from them. There is a shot of the oil I used at 7:22 in the video. Hope that helps
It was checked again after it was off of the stand and after it had run up to temp and left to settle. As for screwing the dipstick in, I must confess that I did not have the manual to this bike (second owner) and was using the information from a different bike’s manual which stated to “screw the dipstick fully home for an accurate reading”. Perhaps that was not the correct method for CBR.
Black cbr1000rr,, beautiful superbike

It was getting about due. I ended up selling the bike before I got around to replacing it though.

+FZR2STUN Next time I will do it 100% proper. I just couldn't be bothered. I got lazy working around automotive technicians for too many years.
+FZR2STUN well thank you.

What kind of rear stand is that?
Just a spool rear stand from Harbor Freight. It is very solid and I have no complaints.
Do not screw the dipstick back into the bike for checking oil level! nor whilst its still on rear stand. Have you even read your manual?

Yes, that is correct. Well spotted.
What kind of genius puts an air filter BEHIND the ECM? Doesn't anyone believe in field serviceable vehicles? Sheesh.
+Chris Smith Honda product development doesn't. It is quite a pfaff to get to.
