This graphics package and set was the most polished the KTLA morning news has ever looked in its history (including up to present day). It was such a quantum leap over their previous '90s look and their old set from the early '80s. I thought the move to the spaceship set and graphics in ~2004 was a big downgrade
Linda Kane Design (LKD) did the 1997 graphics redesign for KTLA5 when it rebranded itself as "L.A.'s WB", LoConte Goldman was brought in to do the titles/opens for the Morning News/News @ Ten.
@@JHollowayNetwork This graphics package was ahead of it time. These were graphics I saw in the early 00's in fact this graphics package I almost thought this show was from the early 00s because these graphicss looked most TV station graphic packages in the early 00s but this is 1997. So KTLA was ahead of its time.
What a jump this entire graphics package was from the previous look.
@@egranadomail for real. And it was two huge downgrades from there. I will say KTLA looks pretty good right now with the new set. The graphics are ok. I like the color palette but they need to refine the font more. It’s too fat. I like ch 7’s new package a lot. It’s less graphic heavy and much cleaner. IMO of course.
But don’t you have the First Edition (5:30AM) and Early Edition newscasts as well?
I assume KTLA debuted "Flashpoint" around late October/early November 1997, as I have a torrent off a private tracker consisting of an original airing of the 7th Heaven "Who Knew?" episode (Oct. 6, 1997) and it still had the old logo.
A year after Time Warner (now WarnerMedia) acquired Turner Broadcasting System & owned CNN.
And Cartoon Network. And time Warner eventually merges with American online (AOL) and now AT&T.

Thank you for sharing this. It's good to see Jennifer York, anchoring the "Early edition". Same crew as 1991-1992. I have watched archives of the newer crew, with the 6-7 hour long Morning News on TH-cam, it seems to be more chit-chat, than an actual new program.
The music bed for the Morning News is much more lively.
That's actually Barbara Beck, Jennifer York was up in Skycam 5 but had an off-day that day so Bill Thomas filled in for her.
