There’s a lot of books that have taken a hit, but I would like to thank you for getting back to sharing a few of the great keys you purchased. They are still classics that’s worth picking up. A lot of us fans that follow you get excited a lot of times just based on comics you share. Although I appreciate receiving information about how there’s a big dip happening in the market, I’d rather hear more about what’s great about comics and the joy of preserving classics.
I've always have been drawn to Marvel 70's horror trade dress covers. Tomb, Werewolf, Frankenstein...My other series is Strange Adventures Dead Man series. Thanks for showing your newest purchases.
I've been enjoying higher-grade Silver Age comics crashing to where I can buy 8's and 9's for what 6's and 7's were selling for just a few months ago, so I'm dipping my toes into some of that. I'm still mostly buying Golden Age stuff, though. Don't have to worry about movie speculation inanity wrecking that segment of comic collecting.... not much, anyway. lol. In most auctions nowadays, I just focus on GA and if there aren't any great GA comics I want, I'll go hunting for higher-grade SA and BA comics. Hope you're coming to Collectors Summit in Dallas. Would love to get my copy of Darkhawk #1 autographed. Just kidding ... I don't have a copy of Darkhawk #1. 😂
I stopped buying comics about 10 months ago and moved to picking up Key Pulps. Last few books before I moved to get the pulps out of the way were NYX 3 in 9.8. NYX 4 in 9.8. All New Wolverine #2 in 9.8 Honey Badger. Then dropped comics to go to pulp keys. Got them finished just before CGC started grading with the rising in price. Once that was finished picked up Vampirella #1 in 6.0 for $725.00 2 months back. Next up maybe a Vampirella #2 in a month or two. No big deal on speed on it. Im sure they are coming down more. Nothing holding the market up. We are now in a recession which will be declared next quarter. Would like to grab a 1st cover Ghost Rider but again, no great speed is required as they are coming down more. I want that Batman with Batman strapped in front as the bow ornament with two faces head in background. The number of the book eludes me, but it is quite cool. Had one, now years later regret having sold it 4 years back.
I'm collecting more Green Lantern. The show Lanterns is coming in the future so I'm trying to get ahead this time. 98% of my collection is GL anyway so it doesn't hurt me in the long run. Great find on the GL/Green arrow book by the way.
Disagree. They are the gold standard for everything people buy from the last 30 years. Even if you don't buy 9.8, you buy lesser grade based on implicit discounts from a 9.8 grade.
Every raw comic price guide and site I use quote NM as the default price. 9.8 is usually only the default price quoted for slabbed books, and there are WAY more raw collectors than slab collectors. Either way, CGC wasn't founded until 1999, so graded books have only existed for the last 25 years.
Nice bizzaro, GL 76!, Dr S.169!, FF 28!, MSH 18!!, IMSUB1!!, Thor 148! Yea bad concept in she hulk. Ugh , ASM 44...., ASM 56 👍🏻, DD 168!!! Nice haul. Love the show. One day I'll get out again. Ha.
Great haul! Bummer about the ASM with the tape pull. I’m currently assembling a grail run of ASM 1-100, so I was loving the green lizard copy you scored. Great colors on that copy 👍
And my last batch of books from CGC came back with harsh grade.. I got a 9.0 back with no grader notes and really believed that book was a 9.2 ob grade high I feel is justified by not getting grader notes
Must be nice, my LCS is just a collection of $1 books. I only go there to buy bags and boards. I actually find better stuff at the "flea market" store.
I’ve come to a personal conclusion: Silver Age Marvel covers are nicer to look at than silver age DC. And I’d describe myself as a modern DC guy. The colors, layouts, and even trade dresses aren’t as dynamic.
I’ve been buying things that I like and ignoring trends WITH the exception of Dave Stephens covers. I genuinely appreciate them and feel a connection as I was a big. rocketeer fan back in the day. That is one modern trend that feels like real appreciation and not just speculation on value.
Agree on the marvel covers over the dc covers. I’ve thought that for a while. Especially when so many of those covers are just Batman or Superman literally standing around, hands at their sides, doing nothing. Or sitting around a table lol
You make it hard to share the enthusiasm for a book when you're just going to sell everything. Collectors keep their books, the only thing you collect is money.
Great pick ups! Comics are finally coming down to reality. Loved this episode
what is the name of the LCS you purchased these from??

I really liked this video. Back to basics. Just love of comics. No graphs. I didn’t even mind the feng shui background.

Painters tape is a must!! 🤦🏻♂️
Great haul, I just picked up a Strange Tales annual 2, loving this market at the moment.
Bizzaro key is awesome been looking for that at a good price myself.

Wow that FF book is really cool 🆒
Fun video - thanks. Always great to see books!
Mickey, no offense but I have no idea why you TH-cam Commentators always quote 9.8 prices? The majority of collectors don't go after 9.8s.

Great pickups, Mickey! Have fun in SD 😊
I hope that Iron Man Sub Mariner finds its way into your claim sales, I need it…
Nice job taking it back to the basics. I'm looking to grab myself DD #168 this year.
If Bizzaro is in a movie that Superboy comic might end up being cool.

Can’t go wrong with DD 168. 🎉
Sent mine in a few month ago and got 9.4
Awesome haul
Smart pickups 🎉

I don't remember the Wrecker/Wrecking Crew in She-Hulk.
I must have blocked it out!
Great video!
Wait am I at Miyagi Do dojo? Different background
Good haul… love bizarro in comics don’t thing he’ll go mainstream except in suicide squad maybe.
Atomic Age books are cool

Great books.

Does your prices include sales tax?
I'm buying Bitcoin and if they come out with a $3.99 reprint have to be crazy to spend thousands on rotted newspaper paper.
Just traded a batman 181 5.5, marvel spotlight 5 5.0, allstar comics 58 9.0, jimmy olsen 134 8.0 for ASM 50 7.5 signed by Romita.
Where's the books! Nothing in the background!!
I miss these videos. This made my day man. Awesome haul, Mickey 👏😁👏

Maybe except for Neal Adams’ covers. Even Tomahawk covers. 😀

🎯That She Hulk wrecking crew was diabolical work 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Why dont you display books on your wall anymore?
He recently moved so it might take some time before he'll display some of his books.
“Key book” is the most overused term in comic book collecting besides “rare”
Doctor Strange 169 in a F+ for $60? Where, I want one.
ASM #44 cool 😎
