This was a dope interview .... I feel Rosenberg he plays alot of music that other stations wont even touch salute to him on that he puts underground music on a mainstream radio station ..... Salute to Ebro in the morning my favorite morning radio show keep doing these dope interviews

+Eddie Rincon I respect Ebro but Rosenberg is a fucken cornball. He thinks his the most important figure in hip hop and he speaks about himself in every interview. He is irritating as fuck

      @ToroidalVortexLove 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

+NewNinetys I hear that. Rosenberg may be annoying but he loves real Hip-Hop. Ebro may be more about mainstream Hip-Hop than supporting the underground but at least he ain't as corporate as The Source.

Rosenberg gets a lot of unnecessary hate imo. He's always shown love to hip hop culture, shed light on the culture, given credit and respect to the legends of the culture, etc. He's more for the culture than most of the ppl that slap him with the "culture vulture" tag because he's white.

I agree. Rosenberg is a big impact on this hiphop culture and a lot of artists coming up now will tell you. Rosenberg has an ear for good music and good artists. Whether you like it or not it's true. If you seems the love and props artists give him during interviews you'd know.

Ya know i was gonna gonna come up on here and start to bash Rosenberg and then i thought dude breaks artists and keeps their music and names alive in conversations where those artists names wouldn't normally be so even their names are put into rotation so to speak Rosenberg has an authentic love for HIP-HOP and shows it regularly with his radio show, with his concerts, with his DJing, with the podcast. SALUTE to ROSENBERG.

I met Rosenberg this summer in Chicago he's a cool ass dude and I have tremendous respect for him. On the flip side of that I agree with Londell when he was talking about the age range of hip hop, a lot of people over my age of 30 years old are not really familiar with Rosenberg or even Ebro for that matter even if they are from NYC. They said Rosenberg been on Hot 97 for seven years, that's a whole different generation of hip hop. Take someone like DJ Red Alert who doesn't get any kind of props for what he has contributed to the culture as a radio personality, and like Rosenburg made a good point about DJ Enuff.

Ebro sneaking in a "nobody cares about magazines" comment in there at 30:25 was nasty. Londell kinda catches it but has to keep up with Rosenberg because he's going HAM, verbally.

+Antoine Rashad its like Londell said, the Source is the blueprint for which all great Hip Hop media is presented. Unsigned Hype and Quotables inspired freshmen list, no rating to this day is as iconic as the 5 Mic system, you can't say the 5 mic winners are not some of The Greatest artist's in Hip Hop, even if you don't agree on the particular product that won the 5. we are in the time of Hip Hop politics, The Source has always covered the politics of the culture now it is "cool" to do so. Complex's best work is Magnum Opus, all that is Source 101 reloaded. Source 101 was a section that covered legendary figures and art pieces in the culture. I could go on. The Source may not be important to YOU because it's a new day, you get coverage from elsewhere, just like you prob check Hot 97 interviews more than the music they play. BUT DON'T PLAY YOURSELF, The Source is still your fave media's fave media.

I got mad respect for the homie Rosenberg 💯👌He been supporting that REAL hip hop, while all these other Radio stations & DJ only supporting that conry commercial bullsh#t nowdays

Rosenberg annoys me as if he's genuinely finding new artists and isn't being sent CDs or just looking on rap blogs like everyone else but let him say it and he's finding kendrick as if he was unknown when he was on game soundtracks

+juniortim33 the fact he supports hip-hop is not the point. He seems to be delusional on how popular and relevant that he is. The only reason a few people even know of him is because of who he works for

I fuck with Ebro for holding it down. Ebro deff came through and put Hot 97 on his back and now I watch both programs.
In a perfect world both programs would boss up and make one brand because both are working for companies above them.
    Great interview though.

When Angie left Hot 97, people followed her. If Ebro left Hot 97, would people follow him? That's the difference.

In all honesty Rosenberg can't kill someone's career nor stop something from being played.
He is just an on air personality with a mix show that gives platform to DIY artist who have already developed a fanbase. He isn't making these hits the internet does that and he just gives them a terrestrial platform.
I like Rosenberg but Kendrick didn't need his co-sign he gave it and tried to hold on for dear life. Kendrick would have been fine without him.
Is Rosenberg part of the culture?
    Unequivocally.
    Does he overplay his influence?
With all due respect, incontrovertibly but he is supposed to be gassed about his own career.

He gives a platform to a lot of underground and up in coming artists... Gotta give him respect for that... He and Sway put a ton of young hungry artists on... Gotta respect them both for that. Rosenberg gets to much unnecessary hate in my opinion

+Brendan Keene Wasn't one of the points in the debate the no one really needs radio, you can put yourself also they don't play any of those new artists at prime times. If a tree falls and there's no one around to hear it does it make a sound?
