I’m so glad I found this video! That’s actually how I felt on Wednesday when I went to Target & Burlington. I didn’t have an urge to buy what was trending but what fit well, was flattering, and what I liked (not what I was told was viral). I was true to myself and returned a pair of heels I never wore back in April and got cute sandals that I’ve been wearing right out of the box.
Everything I’ve doing lately has been led by God. I woke up one morning like Halloween decor has to go. Like all of it 😭🙏🏼🙌🏼 I know God has a mission for me

Finally someone talks about the mindless, soulless consumption...shopping is fun and moderation is key! Between us two, sometimes when I watch decor hauls (pink, spooky content videos especially), the person looks like they were pressured to shop...if that makes sense. Like, theyre smiling but their eyes look lifeless. I know that content creators sometimes return things they buy too. Its not sustainable to buy ten pink mugs and pumpkins every season!
I love all those decor, pink, seasonal haul videos and decorate with me videos....but I wish all the content creators were actually happy to make the content. They shouldn't go into debt for their viewers. And also clutter up their space. A lot of creators will also say things like "this is cute so I HAVE to get it." No, they didn't have to get it!! These cutesy and fun items are not needs, but wants. Sometimes I think that Tjmaxx, Marshalls, Home Goods, At Home, etc are paying people to make these videos. All my friends shop at those stores more than ever since this type of decor haul content is becoming more popular over the years. These days, I try to avoid those stores during holiday seasons because its too tempting. And my house is tiny.
Thank you so much for beautifully putting into words what so many content creators and influencers think and feel on the daily. It’s so true! You can look in some of these people’s eyes and see lost, confusion, and crying for help! I’ve peeped so many different messages from a lot of people in the pink community, (really any community) about suffering mentally and physically. I know God is using me to capture them through my videos or else they won’t see it!
It’s so hard once you’re stuck in the chaos, but one day at a time. The reason so many are struggling is the lack of God, faith, spirituality and so on! I pray we all find peace and healing ❤️🩹 thank you again for this message!!
