I really am thankful for this content. I am in the very beginning stages of getting a place built at Summersville Lake, WV, and the pier and beam design is exactly what I'm planning for. The dimensions are exactly the same (28x28), so this series is going to be VERY valuable to me as we go through the process. I've already learned so much.
OH man I wish I was there to help you. As soon as I saw the short nub exposure on your anchor bolts I thought oh no! Great to see people building their own homes. Watch some experienced contractors before starting work. There is so much pro content you can learn from. I'm a retired building inspector and I strongly recommend Larry Haun for framing, and Essential Craftsman channel for an example of an entire raw land home build on a steep slope lot. You don't have to build that big, just learn from the pros. Check em out and keep on building! I will be doing my own, and when I'm done, I will have no mortgage and my final resting place dream home on my own land. Cheers to building your own home with your own two hands like we used to do in the USA!
@@buildingsmall8422 haha you should have called me! Kidding. Actually i love your vids, so if you ever have a question, make a vid, or send me a comment, happy to help if I can. I have a Bachelors degree in architecture was a home inspector for a decade, did several home flips in the 90's, did a massive remodeled my moms home, and I just love construction. Will be hittin g the road searching for my little piece of land to build on this spring 2022. Keep on building on! I'll be watching. Cheers.
@FITNESSOVER45 sorry i can't help you there. that's an engineering job. Flat solid ground is one thing but that is a whole nother animal. Hire soils and structural engineers. Slopes and special soils are a very special engineering problem unique to that site only.
@FITNESSOVER45 two separate types of engineers. you can also go to your local building code town or county office and they can guide you the right requirements too. many post the required engineering stamps on their local county web site in the building and zoning department. ask for referrals from who ever surveyed your land when you bought it.
Very good job my friend. Your patience will pay off in the end, I'm sure. Are you planning on insulating your floor joists? Also you may want to put some wire mesh with small holes stapled to bottom side of floor joists to keep out the critters. You floor insulation with be a great cost savings in cold weather. Good luck on your build and be safe.
This was a great video. My family and i appreciate the information you shared. You guys did a great job. I did subscribe to support. Thank you again for posting.
Better you then me Sir! Looks like area of Florida Everglades. Yeah....not going to build my home in a swamp! Great content though and some good info! Thanks for making this video!

Looking good! I am excited to see the progress
Hey guys . Nice progress . 👏
famous last word " thats strong enough" aaahhhhh
Man, that looks amazing.
Nothing says “forever” like a notched in beam. 😏
What size posts are you using? I'm happy I've found your channel
I am curious to see if they pour asphalt or concrete under the house to create a crawl space that prevents critters from crawling.

How deep into the ground did you go with the concrete piers? Asking cause I'm about to do the same thing

no man, you need washers
Holy shit😅
Did you have to go that high due to flooding?
No. The site is just that steep. Goes from 1.5’ at the top to about 9’ at the lowest corner.
What size posts did you use?
Nice. Where is this?
I’m looking at some lots that have some severe topo with a runoff gully. I’m looking for a contractor around Livingston.
Lake Sam Rayburn
Why not putting it higher up on the site? It looks more flat up there.
If I had to guess they probably laid it out best they could for there lot.
Yeah. We wanted to be as close to the water as possible to maximize the views.
Show must go on 😍 jak huj z rok budowy kiedy działamy? Jak to ma być,?
That’s why she should’ve stuck to her own kind.
More mud bloods.
This seems super sketchy
