    Hey Munky Wrench, if you notice the Honda dipstick does not have a Full Mark, high or low indicators. The reason being the Full level is where oil just starts to spill over the oil fill tube edge. Something else about the Honda dipstick. It will, for no apparent reason, break off while installed. I've had this happen on two of my own eu2000i and one I was servicing and repairing and one I discovered while was changing the oil in. And I have not yet found the cause of the breakage.
    What was happening the eu2000i I was repairing was very hard to pull over and would not start. The pressure release mechanism was stuck and the psi was 120psi, twice the normal 60psi compression reading. After disassembling unit and accessing the crank case and removing the pressure release mechanism while inspecting it I found a small piece of dipstick jammed within the mechanism. Removed piece of dipstick, reassembled generator, and the Honda started with first pull.
    Luckily, with my two dipsticks that broke as soon as I discovered I had half my dipstick missing I drained the oil and flushed out my crankcase and got the pieces out. With the Honda generator dipstick its main purpose is to close the oil fill hole. Full oil level is just starting to flow out the fill hole and low oil level on my new eu2200i is about in the middle of a intact dipstick. At half or slightly below is where on my eu2000i the oil level safety cutoff switch activated. Although one of my Honda generators was a much older version and oil level safety cutoff switch did not activate till the tip end of the stick. I no longer check the oil level with dipstick unless having a no start.
    First I position myself so i can see the low oil level indicator light then pull the start cord watching for light to show confirming I need to add oil. Using a large syringe I got from eBay and placing a rag below spill over point I add oil to full level.
    What I do now days is replace the honda dipstick with an after market magnetic tipped aluminum knob style dipstick, just to be safe. And it is so much easier to screw back in than that plastic, ill designed, Honda dipstick. I am surprised that Honda's Quality Control has not corrected this ongoing problem. They all must have small hands and are left handed. It is easier for my to get Honda's dipstick started with my left hand.
    I hope this info helps readers suffering the same problem(s).

    About 15 years ago, I delivered to a warehouse that had at least 3000 of these that were all returns. They were a recycler company and would sell them for $50. I bought two that ran perfect. People would use them for a weekend and then return them, but I also wonder how many were in there because of this problem. I kick myself in the butt for not buying more. I still have mine but I sold the other for 350 to a friend.

    Def should be 2 filters in there the one on top is a foam piece and orher on the bottom overtop of lower bolt like a harder sponge style foam
