Eminem/Slim Shady and D12 as a whole are everything to me and whole lot of people in Africa....Nothing but love from me all the way from Kampala, Uganda.
Kind of heartwarming to hear Biz talk about the issues with D12 in regard to "Stepping Stone". I am 100% positive that there were a TON of conversations being had behind the scenes with individual D12 members and Em at different times over how to move forward, where they were at mentally and emotionally, and how they felt about the future without Proof involved. And I'm sure that Em LOVES EVERYONE in D12 enough to respect them enough to be up front and tell them that "this is where I am at mentally" BEFORE putting "Stepping Stone" on an album so that each member would know exactly where Em was coming from and saying what he was saying. But to hear Biz talk about it, it was obviously clear that each member was doing their 'own thing' that had gotten their attention more than any "left over feelings" about D12 after all this time. That it seems like everyone was cool with the track, because all the issues had been discussed with each other personally behind the scenes out of love and respect for what they have been through with each other over the years. And because D12 was more "Proof's baby" than Em's, that coming out and saying that it was time to put that "baby to bed" might be the right thing to do out of respect and the fact that the 'crew days' weren't really in individual people's interest at the moment. And Em, Biz, and Kuniva have ALL said at one point or another, that they know if someone called up and wanted to do a feature, hop on a track, show up for an appearance at a show.... they were just a phone call and plane ride away from each other whenever they were needed. NOT to mention the fact that they stayed in CONSTANT contact with each other on a regular basis so that if something were to happen, the others would be aware of it and help out as much as possible. It is just that on a "business level" things might be different, but on a "personal level" they still loved each other as brothers for life.
Well said bro cuz when it's all said and done D12 and Em are brothers and their bond and love goes much deeper than hip hop and is also deeper than most of us will ever understand. I also think that trying to carry on like it was business as usual without proof would've been absolutely impossible to do and would've been disrespectful to proofs legacy as well, proof was obviously the heart and soul of D12
Em didn't tell swifty or Kuniva about the song Mr Porter is the one that told them about the track he had to tell them it was coming out and it's not a diss track. where do you get the idea they've been in constant contact I think the song itself proves that they haven't stayed in constant contact, if they were in constant contact em wouldn't feel like he needed to make the song. I'm sure there is love but it's not like you think with all these behind the scenes talks and whatnot.
