Looks amazing Wendy. In South Africa we use green crushed cardamom/elachie, chopped crushed almonds to the dough and we place an whole almond in the centre and then bake it. It's popular for Diwali here in Durban as we have a very large Indian population. Just love your Christmas theme version❤❤

I tried these today to add to my small list of Christmas sweets. I am not good with icing, so I made the simple round version. They turned out great! My little tweak was that I added about 1/8th tsp of nutmeg powder and 1/8th tsp of cardamom powder, simply because I like these flavors.
