Stated well. I don't think in "brands." I think in makes and models.

Thanks. “Make” works well. It’s basically used interchangeably with brand/marque but it suggests more uniqueness than “brand.”

To hell with brands....focus on building the most reliable cars on the planet with these things in mind #1 easy of repair #2 interchangeablity of parts between models #3 true customer satisfaction..... So as they say building a brand can actually be true but not with substandard products and unrealistic engineering and planned obsolescence.. It should be Jeep ... Dodge ... Chrysler...and Plymouth... And the first thing that comes to mind should be quality and value for money when you hear those Marques.... But it's not because of the short sightedness of those in control..... And this has also befallen Toyota.. Honda and others across the board from grass mowers to the biggest of industrial machines..... I see know change in this practice for decades to come.

Toyota recovered but for a long time I think they were running on reputation.

Dealers have their whole investment tied to the manufacturer. I'm a retired one thanks to the vision of the auto task force. A smart dealer is always looking ahead and it seems pretty bleak on the product cadence. The crazy pricing on the vehicles while doing their best to reduce costs with parts
,engineering and all things connected to the US products is scary. Dealers saw this coming sometime ago and it has not changed direction. This company has suffered from the European management and a true failure to grasp the US market. From the sidelines this does not look like a pretty picture. Tavares seems hellbent on putting the US company on a path to destruction. I really can't understand the cheap method's he employs and if he wants to continue raiding the treasury it's time to wake up and smell the coffee. Simply stated; something has to change and soon.

I generally agree. I won't blame "being European," since plenty of American managers do the same things, though usually not to such an insane degree. I could point to Boars Head - "we COULD mop the floors but that costs too much." I really have been assuming there's much more product coming than they are admitting, but ...

Can't wait till Tavares is gone .. at least it's not as bad as Cerberus?? Right?
Anybody else see the pics on The Fast Lane Car ..of the Jeep Recon? They have some shots of it ...

Just my opinion here, but when Chrysler was bailed out the first time, they were given another chance and came out strong. When they went bankrupt again, after Daimler and Cerberus ownership, the company, again, my opinion, been bailed out like the first time, with the opportunity to prove whether or not they had what it takes to come out strong yet again or not, rather than being handed over to a foreign company, only to merge with another foreign company. Other than prices, doesn't seem like much is really looking up at Stellantis.
