This looks like my dream store! Comics, movies, music, various geeky paraphernalia. As an Australian, I'm jealous! I wish we had a store as large and cool as this.
This is great news to me. When they shut down the one in Raleigh, I was pissed that I couldn't find super cheap books, and retro games anymore. I damn sure wasn't driving to Greensboro just for that store, but Mebane is a much easier trip.
That looks like my dream store. Every awesome place around me seems to be closing. Great to see a place that has books, music, instruments, video games and movies. Absolutely all the best stuff. I'll say I'm quite envious! Tampa Bay, Florida doesn't have anything that awesome.
God you are so lucky! I live in the middle of nowhere with the nearest ANYTHING (whether it be a movie theater, bookstore, and especially record stores) is 45-hour away from me! 😫
I got a Mckays around my area. To me, Mckays is like a weekend ritual for me and my younger sister. We go in and pickup CDs, DVDs, Games, and Books. Also, they did have Nile, WTF? God I love Mckays.
I was there a month or so ago and got some CDs! Found a copy of Saves The Day's first album for less than a dollar. Went back about a week or two later and got a couple gifts for my uncle for his birthday. They price stuff so well
I'm very familiar with the Nashville location, it's one of my favorite places to find random stuff that I find interesting as well as sometimes finding something I've been looking for for ages. I no longer live right by it but for a year my apartment was right off the same I-40 exit, the people at the Mexican restaurant right next to it recognize me every time I come back
If you love this place I’m sure you’d love the store Bullmoose in New England. Our location in Salem NH just moved into my town and it’s become so much easier to get to. They’ve got similar layouts with a lot of selection.
I had no idea McKay's had expanded this far. It was my local used book store for a long time (90s), then they started buying/selling music, then expanded into a warehouse. I enjoy the channel and if I see you around, I'll buy you a mountain dew.
I grew up with this place. It started across the street in a basement. It was called Edward Mckays. They moved to that crispy creme factory later after I turned 16. I'm 45 now. Glad to see them grow still.
They’ll probably mark the price down after a while. The keyboard stand I got there for $38 had a bunch of stickers under it. The bottom sticker said $76. Whew!
Dude! I never knew McKays was a chain! There's one out near me in Virginia and have gotten a lot of cool shit from there. My favorite find was Blutengels Delux Edition cd "Omen" from before it got pulled from shelves and renamed "Sing"
Man, I wish there was a cool used store like this near me. Looks like a WAY better selection than my local Goodwill locations full of predictable boring/depressing stuff. 5:35 Ah, Dirty Fences - they're a fun rock'n'roll/punk band from NYC. I saw them perform on a boat and I met them - they're cool. 6:42 I've got that same Redscroll Records sticker! They're about forty minutes away from me and are definitely a must-visit for anyone driving through Connecticut.
It used to be called Ed McKays, right? And maybe wasn’t on Lawndale? I used to go there a lot in high school. Had no idea the big place off 40 was the same ownership.
Love that you picked up some Rush. Do they carry LaserDiscs and cassetes too? Thats the only thing that I collect for here that I didn't see. Damn your lucky to have big stores like that. Hawai has like 2 and there smaller than this, and far away from me.

They should have posters, that’d complete it
So glad they moved closer to Raleigh. I really miss when it was in the capital city!
That place looks like a nice piece of heaven...
The Cure “just like heaven”

45h damn 💀💀💀 i live like 1h away from 3 big citys 😸
I still gotta drive 30 min to get to it, but it’s closer than the last McKays
@@KillbotAndGorGorAttackI would have had to drive an hour and a half to the Greensboro one, but this one is only about an hour away from me now.
45hrs? Where do you reside?
@@tomasjonsson7141 no, no. 45 minutes to an hour.

Hahaha I quote that every time I see a Nile album there. It’s almost Pavlovian
we need these all over the country.....i wouldnt need to go anywhere else. Manga and CDs/Vinyl all in one place ❤
That looks like heaven 😇😇😇
Wonderful place
Awesome tour! I used to work in the Fayetteville store/stores
Never saw the Fayetteville one. That one closed, didn’t it?
@@KillbotAndGorGorAttack Sadly yes, it's been closed for years. I left in 2006 and I think it stayed around another decade?
Dude! That's my ideal version of heaven! Books, records, and DVDs. If that has video games too, I'd insist on moving in. I love it.
I find rare stuff sometimes too

Wow crazy this popped up! Definitely going to go check it out thanks for making this video bro.
Love McKays, went today!

Seeing that long line makes me happy that people are keeping physical media alive.

Thank you much!! Love me some McKays
Looks like a great store. Don't have anything half this cool where i am.
Wish I had a store like this that was this clean looking/organized. The closest equivalent is Savers.
McKays is dope! Hope their new location works out for them.
I wish there was a McKay’s in Florida 😢 so much metal records would’ve been bought
It's always a good day when Killbot uploads
Gracias
I used to go to the one in Raleigh before they closed it.
I think I drove by that new one a couple days ago

Oh cool!
Definitely checking this out today !
Brutal!🤘
Hell yeah! I loved the first McKays video
Good
Howdy! I go to this McKays almost every week with my wife. That Kong V-Rex head bust is still there has not budged lol.

Fuck Yeah Killbot is Back!
Back in black
I lived like 10 minutes away from the Greensboro location before they moved. Now it's a 25-30 minute drive.
I’m in Burlington, the drive for me now is maybe 5 minutes shorter
I need a McKay's where I live :0
Me too
Yes you do

This place looks awesome.
It is
I just went to McKays today for the first time. Got a few cds and a ps4 game.
Went back to this store yesterday, it was just as packed as it was on day one
McKay's is a chain?! I thought the Manassas, VA was the only one... wow.
Limited chain

They did at Greensboro, they more than likely moved the laserdiscs with them and I just didn’t catch them… tapes galore.
Going to their new location soon gonna miss the old one
I don’t miss the parking lot
Wellll, looks like I gotta plan a road trip to the closest location to me.
They have two in TN and two in NC
This kinda reminds me of 2nd and charles in greenville sc!
Did u get the new taylor swift album? I hear it's got some sick black metal influences.
Ha!
I’m from the area! If you like Behemoth I have a nice vinyl record of theirs for sale!
Not a record guy anymore, but great stuff!
I miss them being in Fayetteville
The first shop version is more authentic but big nerd store is great as well
Okay
wake up killbot posted!!!
Yes!
How it going killbot
Decent
I'm with you on the Bruce Willis album
All I see in the store is the Joe Dirt DVD 😂
Ha!
I’m at a bad religion and social distortion show right now in Houston
Cool
Music is good. Mm'kay?
Yes
Shouldn't have closed the Greensboro location
I don’t miss that parking lot
I was not a fan of the remastered vapor trails haha
I like it, but that’s because I prefer quieter mixes. Still haven’t heard the OG mix all the way through though
@@KillbotAndGorGorAttack think im just used to the original. same thing with cynic traced in air remix

Why in the living fuck did a video about my hometown just turn up on youtube.
