    Great review and the first time I've seen the Enan look taut in winds, those extra guys seem to make a big difference. Might have to add it to my shopping list now, thanks !

    Tak for en god og præcis anmeldelse. Jeg har haft mit Enan i mange år, og min erfaring er, at kondens kun er et meget lille problem. Men jeg kunne ønske mig en strop nederst på yderdøren, så man kunne spænde den lidt op uden at få regn ind.

    Great review. One question: Some people complain about massive condensation during calm weather. What is your opinion - maybe compared to other tents?

    • @kobold90
      @kobold90 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      If I'm allowed to answer: It is a small tent and it's a tunnel tent. It will have more condensation than bigger, airy 3 season tents. And the design needs some airflow which works great if it's pitched within the wind and not against it. Some wind is allways there. So far, I've never had more condensation than expected (mostly a thin layer) and the inner tent was allways dry. I never had a wet sleeping bag, even though I often cook some tea before I sleep. With the door closed. I once camped right beside a river and the rain fly was full of condensation. To be expected when you camp near water. Nevertheless, the inner tent was dry. Living and mostly camping in Switzerland, tested at temperatures between 14°C and -11°C. Most people I've seen complaining about condensation were camping in Great Britain. Maybe the warm sea air isn't ideal for that design. Because even if it's labeled as a 3 season shelter, it's design is able to cope with winter weather. It is warmer in the tent than on the outside. If condensation is a problem in the areas in which you plan to camp, the design of the Enan won't help you. If not, I don't see a problem. I've allways slept with the door closed so the intended airflow wasn't disturbed.

    Hard to understand since it's not in English but you seem to have added extra guylines?
    Does the tent come will the loops to hook them?
    How many did you add... Two at the front and two at the back?

    • @vandringskanalen
      @vandringskanalen  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      BravingTheOutDoors the loops are there. Just add guylines if you want. There are 2 in each end. Adds a bit of stability in high winds.👍🏻

    Hey!. Very ncie video and review. I am planning to get a new light tent for the summer. to save some weight. I currently own a Tarra. but it is way to heavy to carry around for summer use. One question tho. do you think that the Enan is large enough for a person + a German shepherd dog?. I am also looking to get the Soulo. since that tent doe's seem a bit bigger. but also twice the weight.

    • @vandringskanalen
      @vandringskanalen  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The enan with a German Shepard is really pushing it. All hilleberg tents are reallly high quality and if you don’t plan on going for winter trips with a lot of snow you might consider the Niak. Weighs about 1.7kg and have plenty of room for 1 person and a large dog. It’s also really easy to setup.

      @@vandringskanalen I do winter camping too, but thats what i have the Tarra for. The Niak seems quite good too. deciding on tents these days is such a pain. Ty for the feedback and video ofc :).

    • @varde6965
      @varde6965 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@dougieranger No i did not. I ended up buying from adifferent brand. Tent called Helsport Nordmarka 2. Very cheep tent, and not by anymeans hilleberg quality, but stil a really good tent for the low price. I also started looking at tents that dosent weight as much thesedays. If i am gonna spend a tond of money on a tent i want the weight to be as close to 1 kg as possble, that would fit me and my dog. Stil havent decided on a tent yet, but looking at something like MLD Solomid XL/Duomid ect.

    How much wind stability do those 2 extra guylines add? Would you consider them essential when going above treeline?

    • @vandringskanalen
      @vandringskanalen  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi! I prefer to use them mainly because i get a better pitch when using them. They are not essential on every hike above the treeline and the Enan can handle som very windy situations without them. You probably won't need them for 95% of the time.

    • @kallesalminen9675
      @kallesalminen9675 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      My understanding is that yellow labels arent made for above treeline and cannot handle high winds based on things ive read and seen. Can it really handle a lot of wind? Wont the unsupported fly fabric hit the inner tent in high winds?

    • @vandringskanalen
      @vandringskanalen  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yellow label tents are great above the treeline during 3 season use. No problem at all. Even during high winds the space between the outer and the inner is good. The extra guy lines helps with this during high winds. But even without them its not a problem from my experience.

    • @MrEpaxx
      @MrEpaxx 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think your biggest improvement with the additional guylines is less noise and just a tighter pitch . You can see it in other videos that the sidewalls are kinda sloppy without it. I don’t think it improves the overall stability in high winds so much because it’s not really strengthen the structure of the tent. Unlike the Akto there is only one pole in the middle which is guyed out. I’m sure Hilleberg wanted to keep the weight at min. 500g less than the Akto, that’s why it’s not out of the box like that.

      They shot up in price after Brexit. I’ve just ordered an Enan, additional pole, bag of Y pegs and a Tarp5 from France. The package arrives on Saturday so I hope I don’t get hit with customs duty. It’ll be a real bargain if it slips through the net.
