I am 80 and I love to look at back to school. When I was in school, we didn’t decorate our lockers in high school, so that fascinates me. We didn’t ever have backpacks either but so smart.can’t tell you how many times I dropped my books coming and going to school on a city bus. No school buses either. But it’s fun to watch you.
I’m 56. We rode our bikes to school and strapped the big textbooks covered in paper bag homemade covers to a rack on the back of the bike with a bungee strap. If the bike tilted, the books went flying. Lol. I don’t remember how we kept them dry though bc we rode in rain also. Probably a garbage bag. Lol
@@thewadsquad lol! Well it was Florida but we actually had snow one year for all of probably five minutes. Lol! I am thinking back to this school supplies video and still stuck on fur carpet and chandeliers. I think you could entirely make a party in your locker with disco ball and music when the door is opened haha. I am thinking of marketing this on AARP as products to spruce up us oldster’s medicine cabinets and maybe walker and canes in tie dye and sippy cups in hip designs for people with tremors and wheelchair lights etc. (that one maybe done already for kids though). Hmmmmmm. I need a nap! Lol! Oh and as my brother says he is sending me “tennis balls for my walker” I think swanky tennis balls in glitter and all. It's never too early to start back to school shopping. I have 3 daughters. I've gotten all their clothes, backpacks, and over half of the supplies for each one already.
I missed back to school shopping so much that my mom and I started a new tradition. We would grab a couple supplies each pay for a girl and a boy. Everything an elementary school kid would need, we got it. Then when the school year started (Im in Canada so we start in September) we would wait until about October/November so they would be in full routine and drop them off at my old elementary school for kids in need. We loved doing that for them, but they tore down my school and built a bigger one somewhere else
I love that so much!! I know teachers also have wish lists out there where people can help gather supplies they need for their classroom!! Such a nice thing for you guys to do!

I think you might enjoy "Back to School" shopping even more than the kids do, Kim! It's always fun to check out all the new items and cool supplies. You are such a terrific mom!!!
“Back to School” is one of my favorite seasons! Paper mate Ink joy gel pens are the absolute smoothest- just make sure you get the gel ones, not the ball point. Ticonderoga pencils are the only pencils for me. You and I are so different and yet so alike. Hydrate or diedrate!
Time for a field trip. It's back to school shopping with, Kim! The section where children's dreams are crushed and parents lose their life savings. The dreaded list of things they only use half of. I love Target shopping to see anything. I cannot go in that place without spending way too much. Thanks for the preview of supplies. You could read on video and I would be happy. Have a great day, Kim, Wads family and friends. Stay amazing! xoxo
Agreed Target is lethal on the bank balance so many little things that add up but oh so cute. Those darn book lists every year we had to get some obscure items like A3 art folios that had 96 pages PRECISELY (no you couldn't just buy the 64 page ones 😜) or the 0.3mm fine liners (must have exactly 5) like you say it was a waste of time, effort and money and no they never used half the stuff. The older mine got the less we bought!!! Feb 2021 my Miss Teen was entering her final year at School as we still in and out of lockdowns, we didn't even bother with the book list there was no point everything online no highlighters involved 😅 Can't say l miss the "back to school" but l enjoy having a peek at Target. Hope Michigan is treating you well this Tuesday morning 🌄
@@brilliantbutblueWe did the same in high school. I was only blessed with one & cannot imagine the cost large families pay in supplies. Thank you, I'm good. No complaints here, friend!😘
@@aimee2234 : I was blessed with 2 although my eldest Son is no longer with us, l had my two 13yrs apart so by the time l got done with one through school l was doing it all again with my Daughter! She was the pedantic one who always followed the rules to the letter at School but even she realised over the years that you never use the compass or the protractor 🤣. Like you l cannot imagine how large Families get through the book lists, in Australia the School year started after Christmas (end of January early Feb) and the expense right after Christmas and summer holidays really stretched the budget. Nice chatting to you, until Thursday you take care. X
My kiddo is in year-round school and started back mid-July! But even when we got our supplies it seemed picked over. Seems like people are just trying to get them while they can. Love your channel, Kim! You bring a lot of happy to my day! ❤️
Joy and anxiety at the same time 😆. I am a mom and a teacher so I loved seeing all the new stuff for my kids to get ready for the school year and also for myself to purchase for the classroom, BUT also, not ready for our summer to come to an end! As always love your commentary and suggestions 💓
Yay, your early! I have to work today and was still going to watch but now I'll be able to be full focused, lol, time for coffee and school supply shopping with the best person!
🤣🤣🤣 I just watched your 🎉Birthday 🎉 video from a LONG time ago… your 31st birthday. It was so funny, but after watching you make the cake, frost the cake, putting the candles on… the video stopped right before the 🔥 broke out!! Your kids sure have grown!! Lots of fun!!
When I was in high school in the early 70s is when trapper keepers first came out and I got one every year and it was a notebook or binder that had a pencil pouch, ruler, dividers, etc all inside and a flap that velcroed it all shut so nothing fell out. Then the outside was printed with popular characters, kittens, puppies or Lisa Frank prints. I loved mine!
Looove sat am and a new WAD video!!!!..thanks for going through target..now I need to go hehe..I’m with u on new school supplies..the memories, always fun…I had that same type drink cup u had that came in my metal lunch box..hehe..
Ink Joy! My favorite of all time. I'll be heading over to Target for those. School supplies is my favorite time of the year. And all my kiddos are grown. Don't know if it's the momories or what, but I can get excited going through those sections too.
I saw an ACTUAL Trapper Keeper at my Target! I was way more excited than I should have been. I took a picture and sent it to my husband and he called me a nerd 🤣 ..my kids thought I was crazy..Sooo fun! Lol
My son is 21 now, but WOW, he would have loved the money set. The clock set too. I didn’t homeschool, but we did a lot of play like that. That seems like just yesterday. They grow up SO fast. They have such COOL children’s stuff nowadays! I can’t get over it!! I still have fun picking up stuff for him for college, he doesn’t like shopping. Me, I like shopping A-LOT! 😂 The plastic folders are definitely better. I learned along the way to spend a little more at the beginning of the year, if I had the funds, and then I wouldn’t be replacing them mid school year… I tried and tried with planners with my son. He didn’t start actually using a planner until college. He actually said “I don’t know why I didn’t listen to you…” Um, yes son, I have lived, I have learned some things... a few things. 😂 We cannot remember it all, especially at that age….
Growing up our pencil pouch was a ziplock bag. My mom literally stapled loose paper together and made us notebooks. And don't even think about asking for Lisa Frank. I spent 6th grade with folders from state farm, since that's where the house insurance was from. Nothing like asking for extra folders for your kids, lol. Good times!
Dear parents!! My Jansport has been in action since I was in middle school... Ten years ago.. I still regularly use it as a lake bag, or over night bag, it is amazing 🤩
I love school supplies!! Back to school is my favorite and even better is at the end of back to school when it all goes on clearance! My daughter’s first day of 7th grade is August 17th! I thought I was done back to school shopping then checked the school supply list online and they changed it so need another notebook! My daughter wanted the Minecraft lunch box from target!! My daughter used her planner for the first week of school and then never used it again so not getting her another one!! It’s hard not to get drawn into all the cool stuff!
Good Morning Kim, love to start my morning before work with you, it is always a calorie free treat! Thanks for pre school back to school sneak peek! So helpful☺ Have a fabulous weekend.
Locker story time - My oldest daughter was starting high school (where I taught) and we went back-to-school shopping. Got her lots of locker stuff like you showed. So she tried opening the locker the first day, had trouble and just dropped her stuff off in my room. Yep, never used the locker....the whole four years! So if you can hold off on the locker stuff until you're sure she will need it, you can save yourself some $. :)
I always love your videos Kim :) They seem to come at just the right time when I need a break away and a lot of laughs and fun :) hope your summer is awesome and Alex and the kids as well . I know you will help them all enjoy it .
My kids are out of that phase, but I used to dread it since usually all the parents are hunting for the same items from the class supplies list. Happy shopping!
Hey Kim,first time in a while that i get to watch your video as soon as i saw it pop up!!!!!!! Hope you have a wonderful day,day 2 of no sleep, maybe i can get a nap in since it's raining here!!!!!!!!
I was just thinking if mud rooms had lockers for each family member, they would be so excited to keep it tidy especially if they had to decorate it etc. it would motivate them. I have three lockers at the top of my stairs as I use them as utility storage cabinets etc. one has long dusters and the vacuum etc, no shelves except one for cleaning items. The other has table linen, new kitchen towels, and chairs cushions. The last one keeps all seasoning decors. These last two have shelves. Works perfectly fine and does double purpose of blocking off kids ( when around) from overlooking banister.
Target has some amazing stuff. I just wish they could of done shipping to forwarding services, cause in the caribbean we pay alot for these stuff. Love ur videos i get to see all these awesome products
My youngest is 30 and I still get excited for back to school shopping! I don't know what it is but just seeing all those supplies makes me giddy sooooo I do my office supply shopping and my grandsons are homeschooling with me shopping. I really don't need anymore stuff but I'll find somewhere to put it lol.
Hey Kim, I've been watching you on youtube for a long time now, yearssss! I normally don't comment but I had to reach out & tell you how great you are! You are the friend I wish I had! I love watching how real you are & your family is gorgeous 😍 All the best, Amber

Good morning Kim! So happy to shop with you at target!! My friends with college students are getting ready to go back! Love seeing new school supplies. TFS ❤️
Wow! I have to get to TARGET ASAP just for fun! I know you may not read this but I still think that we must be related. Are we??!!! My husband’s aunt was named Eleanor Wadsworth and she was a piano teacher until age 93! We are the Harrison Morton Wadsworth family and we have the Wadsworth family history book. Are we related? 🧐 Are you related to General James S Wadsworth from Civil War days? He has a statue at Gettysburg battlefield. Ok, sorry I digress. I do like the Blue Sky planners and the thermoses, pencils, pens, backpacks, and locker chandeliers. Thank you!
While I agree that the Jansport backpacks are a quality item - the price is definitely a deterrent to my budget. I did manage to find a couple on clearance after-school at Kohl’s for $14.99 (and I had a coupon), so that’s more my price range and I grabbed those. Great video as usual! 👍🏻
I will sing the praises of L.L. Bean backpacks as long as they are in business. I have only ever had two backpacks for school because their quality is so good. And I only had two because the first one was too small after middle school. I am still using the second one as a bag for all my toddlers junk and I will be 40 this year. 😱
Love back to school supply shopping! So different from when my kids were in school! Ticonderoga pencils were always on the list and they are the best! Always enjoy your videos!❤
OMG you just mentioned in passing you were a teacher too - I never knew that!! I am (was) a teacher who just resigned to start entrepreneurial pursuits including TH-cam (no uploads yet), but so many of the TH-camrs I follow just happen to be former teachers! I LOVE you! I can't believe you are pregnant and rocking it, you are giving me such motivation thank you 😉❤️
Happy fall Kim! 😂 I can’t believe back to school things are already out! How exciting that Wentworth gets to do some shopping this year, he’s gonna rock Kindergarten!
He's so cute. The little girls will chase him all over the play ground. We already have everything for school except shoes. I like to shop early because it gets hard to find things closer to first day. Have a good day. 🌼🌹🌼
I got my three year old the big crayon box with the sharpener. Living my childhood dreams through him. He dumped out all the crayons and disassembled the box. I put it all back together as best as I could and put it away on a top shelf 😂
Kim, I LOVE those Ink Joy Pens. Not only are they nice colors, but the barrels are smooth (which I prefer) and they typically write very smoothly. The things I don't like is that some of the colors are too light to be practical in any way, so they are a waste (who can see yellow ink on white paper?) and some of them will fade out (as a lot of gel pens do) and require some flicks to get the ink moving again.
They even have this like magnet wrapping paper stuff for the outside of your locker so it's easy to tell which one is yours I thought that was pretty cute I saw on Pinterest too a lady making little magnets for lockers with the students name
If anyone has Kroger - they're having huge sale this week! I got most things 50 cents and the water bottles are on sale for $6, back packs for $12 I believe.
I got so excited by all the back to school things, I paused the video to order a rubber band ball and a jar filled with beautiful paper clips from Target! Oh and my kids aren't in school!
KIM! I went to the Dollar 25 Tree just yesterday and they had the really cool naked Ticonderoga pencils there. The ones that don’t have the yellow paint. Of course I had to get them bc we have the pencil discussion every year. Lol! They also had Zebra Pens! Thanks for being so awesome Lady! P.S. I just asked my husband and confirmed, TrapperKeepers were on our supply list when we were in school (in the early 90’s 🤪)
Last year my son went to school for the first year (preschool) and we spent $70 on supplies alone, that doesn’t include his book bag or anything else. He’s going back this year for Pre k! But I’m sad we can’t get all that really cute stuff your showing! I buy just the cheap of the cheap! Because they don’t let kids keep their own supplies! The teachers take them all, and everyone shares. Which I know is good if someone can’t or doesn’t have some supplies. But I wish I could get my son all the marvel stuff! Because he’d love it!
I’m overwhelmed but love watching you! Seeing this makes me so happy that my school does a bulk-buy so I just pay the school and my kids each receive a box of all their school supplies on the first day.
Ok, when my daughter got her first locker, she did the whole shelf, wallpaper, pencil thing on the door. She saved money for it. And by Christmas she had it all down cause she said it got in the way. So measure and make sure everything will fit in the locker with all the extra gadgets.
You are so right about the pencils. Other ones the more beautiful they get wreck electric pencil sharpeners that the teachers buy for their classrooms. Thank you for shopping 🛍 with me!
Back-to-school shopping is my Favorite! Former professional student here, I always could rely on Target and Staples. BACKPACK HACK: Check out the Everest brand. Far cheaper than Jansport and more rugged, I love them. Buy a set of four BLACK dry erase pens to hand to the teacher when they run out and want to use red. Not good for math and science classes. Buy Mead and Five star if possible with Bic round stick pens, they don't clump up and write forever!!!
I work at a Workshop for special needs people. We have different circles of the rubber pop it stuff. It is for sensory and helps me count when I’m board or stressed out. Sharen
I'm sure it's already been commented on, but as a teacher myself I will say... Ticonderoga. Yes. Yes. Yes. All other pencils are horrible! They break so easy, they tear up the pencil sharpener. Ticonderoga is where it's at! Oh, and Pink Pearl erasers. Other erasers just don't get the job done. Shop the sales. Name brand school supplies (crayons, pencils, erasers primarily) just work so much better!

Are my kids old enough to go to school? No. Do I need any of this? Also no. But am I gonna watch this whole video? Absolutely 😂🤷♀️
I think you might enjoy "Back to School" shopping even more than the kids do, Kim! It's always fun to check out all the new items and cool supplies. You are such a terrific mom!!!
My kids get a pretty big kick out of it too!!
Yay! Best morning ever 🥰 love me some Kim to start my day! Let’s do this ❤️
Woop! Thanks for being here and hanging out!
@@brilliantbutblueGod bless you, Vanessa! 💗💗💗
She spreads happy all about!
🤣🤣🤣
I just watched your 🎉Birthday 🎉 video from a LONG time ago… your 31st birthday.
Ink Joy pens write so smooth. They aren’t overly fine, but they are smooth. And so many colors.
Okay,
I'm dying to see a video of WENTWORTH shopping for school supplies!
P L E A S E !
Ink Joy! My favorite of all time. I'll be heading over to Target for those. School supplies is my favorite time of the year. And all my kiddos are grown. Don't know if it's the momories or what, but I can get excited going through those sections too.
I use to put up cork boards in my son's room and later my grandson's room to display there school and art work!
It made them so PROUD!
I saw an ACTUAL Trapper Keeper at my Target! I was way more excited than I should have been. I took a picture and sent it to my husband and he called me a nerd 🤣 ..my kids thought I was crazy..Sooo fun! Lol
I mean, I'm right there with you on nerd status!!
Fun video. Jansport backpacks with reinforced bottoms are great. My oldest used the same one for all four years of HS.
Have a great day, Elena!
Elena we just bought our incoming 10th, 8th and 4th grader all Jansport backpacks. We are hoping they will last.
Yay! Kim Whisk this early. What a way to start a Saturday morning doing laundry after a week of baby sitting. Love these videos. 💙🌼💙
I LOVE IT
The best Joyce!
Good Morning Kim, love to start my morning before work with you, it is always a
calorie free treat!
Thanks for pre school back to school sneak peek! So helpful☺
Have a fabulous weekend.
haha I love that!! A calorie-free treat!
I Did that when my grandkidsschool were in
My kids are out of that phase, but I used to dread it since usually all the parents are hunting for the same items from the class supplies list. Happy shopping!
Not ready to think about back to school! But I guess it’s better to be prepared and done with it!
Yesssss! Office supplies are my favorite category to shop. I miss back too school shopping haha thanks for getting excited about it with me!
So many fun things to look at!
Hey Kim,
I've been watching you on youtube for a long time now, yearssss!
I normally don't comment but I had to reach out & tell you how great you are! You are the friend I wish I had!
I love watching how real you are & your family is gorgeous 😍
All the best, Amber
Amber!!! Thank you so so much! Truly I really appreciate your kind words and the fact that you've been a friend for so long!! Thanks for hanging out and being here!!
Good morning Kim! So happy to shop with you at target!! My friends with college students are getting ready to go back! Love seeing new school supplies. TFS ❤️
It's right around the corner for us too! Less than a month away! So much to do!
My two-year-old now announces when it's "Kim day" 🤣. He particularly liked the car cleaning video and wanted you to do that again today! Haha
Oh my gosh... well if he wants to come over and help me clean Alex's car, I'm all in! haha
Kim this was the greatest! Thanks for the happy in my day! Party people have a fabulous weekend! 🧡💜💚💃🏻
So glad you enjoyed it! thanks for shopping around with me!
Love that you found some on clearance!!
I will sing the praises of L.L. Bean backpacks as long as they are in business. I have only ever had two backpacks for school because their quality is so good. And I only had two because the first one was too small after middle school. I am still using the second one as a bag for all my toddlers junk and I will be 40 this year. 😱
The erasable highlighters are actually great! They sell them on Amazon too. They have other ones that are not pastel.
Love back to school supply shopping! So different from when my kids were in school! Ticonderoga pencils were always on the list and they are the best! Always enjoy your videos!❤
I really think they're worth the extra money if you can splurge for it !
The eraser highlighters are the best! I used them at work all the time!
OMG you just mentioned in passing you were a teacher too - I never knew that!! I am (was) a teacher who just resigned to start entrepreneurial pursuits including TH-cam (no uploads yet), but so many of the TH-camrs I follow just happen to be former teachers! I LOVE you! I can't believe you are pregnant and rocking it, you are giving me such motivation thank you 😉❤️
Fun tp watch. I miss those says of shopping back to school. They grow up so fast.
He's so excited! He has the same teachers as both Avalina and Eleanor had, we love their school so much!!
I love back to school at Target vlogs
I know l know l was thinking what time is it? Absolutely love hanging out with you Kim 💕
I am 27 years old and I still have my Jansport backpack from when I was 15 🤣
I love the vertical expandable file organizers!
Girl! They have the Original Tapper Keeper at Walmart. I saw it last week, brought back so many memories
My school shopping with my mom lasted 10-15min… but, I’m old! Graduated HS in 84. Sooo, I’m old! Lol!!!!
I love how you see all the possibilities…the kids rakes, play AND hit each other 😂😂😂 So sorry but that struck me so funny I giggled out loud 😂💕
Target brand plastic folders work well all year. I use them for my 3-year-old students; I am not sure if they would work for older kids.
I got so excited by all the back to school things, I paused the video to order a rubber band ball and a jar filled with beautiful paper clips from Target! Oh and my kids aren't in school!
Good morning everyone happy Saturday morning and I loved your reset vlogs because you all amazing Supporter and I'm proud of you
P.S. I just asked my husband and confirmed, TrapperKeepers were on our supply list when we were in school (in the early 90’s 🤪)
haha dollar 25 tree love that
As a teacher this TRIGGERED ME! Just came to say I love ya and I’ll watch this on August 15th when I’m ready to deal with back to school. 😂
Go to thrift stores and second hand stores to look for backpacks and water bottles!
Hey they have all the numbers adding and all to help your kids learn even telling time is there also so go to the dollar tree and check for 1:25
I loved watching BOY MEETS WORLD , SISTER SISTER , MOESHA, HANGING WITH MR.COOPER , I can go on. I miss the 90s ah to be 11 yrs old again.
That's awesome that they do that!!
Ok, when my daughter got her first locker, she did the whole shelf, wallpaper, pencil thing on the door. She saved money for it. And by Christmas she had it all down cause she said it got in the way. So measure and make sure everything will fit in the locker with all the extra gadgets.
Kim, you make me laugh so hard….I love you!!
You are so right about the pencils. Other ones the more beautiful they get wreck electric pencil sharpeners that the teachers buy for their classrooms. Thank you for shopping 🛍 with me!
I loved the tone of your voice to "did I give a little peep show?" I literally laughed out loud!
Lisa Frank folders were the bees knees in my day!
I’m such a sucker for school/office/junk drawer supplies!
If your daughter wants to decorate her locker five below usually has all that fun stuff for the lockers my daughter always loved decorating hers
I remember last year when you did this target tour and said you weren’t ready and when you went back it was all gone. A week can make the difference.
