This is the most original AOTM yet in my opinion. He tried something completely different and kudos to him for that.
the only original was the song, but the choreography was a mix between hyunjin's playing with fire, yeonjun's from artist of the month, and a few original steps. He mixed two choreographies that I had already seen, and added other steps so that it was not so obvious, I am not a hater, but that is what I noticed

@@karelymoreno5337 What was original was Juyeon conception of the concept and storyline of the choreo. Mihawk made the choreo after hearing Juyeon's desire to incorporate his life story. Dancing is not just movement, it's storytelling in the most abstract and beautiful form.

I did watched both videos before and when it comes to juyeon’s aotm performance, nothing really remind me to hyunjin’s and yeonjun’s performance because these 3 are really way different. The choreographer wont mixed any performance easily because from the start to the end, each movement had its own stories, its own definition. Maybe you saw some similar movement but saying the mixing of 2 different famous performance into this, that’s really out of line I believe. I’m not defending or anything, I’m also stating my views, which there’s nothing similar between these 3 performance. Thanks

This man has perfected horror into his own way. Although the typical maniacal smiles would send shivers down our spine, a simple stare from him was already equivalent to that. He makes it seem like he isn't trying to provoke the fear out of us because of the gracefulness of his dancing, but the details of the movements itself tells you otherwise. It's horrifyingly graceful that your heart is beating so fast because you can't tell if he's going to chase you down or stay on the screen and it's scaring the sh!t out of me bit by bit. Juyeon doesn't exaggerate anything just to emphasize the story he's telling, he's making all of us interpret the mystery of his actions into our own perspective of it. Also, an intro like that could've definitely been a horror film director's wet dream, I'm telling you!! This is coming from a person who doesn't know a single thing about the boyz or juyeon himself but this so far has been the best aotm performance for me. I hope to see him act in the future as well! Keep it up, Juyeon.

I really wanna commend Mihawkback in here. He made a choreo that fully showcases Juyeon's skills and natural talent, without compromising the essence of the song. The way the story was told screams Lee Juyeon from start to finish with how eloquent he is in understanding the things he truly gravitates with, which in this case is You Should See Me in a Crown. Everyone could see that Back Kooyoung and Juyeon agreed on how to present it and present it in a very specific way.

fck it, imma say it, Juyeon is the best dancer of the 4th gen fight me. He uses dance to express how he feels and he does it so well that is a language in itself. He moves so precisely and delicately, but then again with such an elegance. This kind of contemporary style suits him so well and something that I wanna point out is how well he manages his body during in the choreo. HE controls the dance, the dance does not control him. It’s amazing to see him move so freely and passionately, and you all should be thankful that we are watching this for free.

To be honest, out of all aotms, this is the most special. Like can we start off with Juyeon having 3 outfits instead of normal 2? And the way it's filmed is so different from others that has mostly standard filming angles. not true. a lot of idols can express and see their emotions through movement. they train for it. Some are just better at it or it comes natural. Juyeon is a natural but this was not one of my favorite dance routines of his because i know he can do more. to me he was lacking passion and feeling. The dance was beautiful and precise like he learned the movements and steps but missing the feeling and i didn't get any emotions from it.. but everyone sees things differently. It was still entertaining to watch and he is very talented.

And yes I also agree of course he can do more. It's a learning process, and to see him to be able to express his moves here, it's a very outstanding one.
For me, we can totally see that his dance here might seems very different than the other, not too strong, not that extravagant, a very minimalist type of performance, but that's the main point. A performance that can totally show his strengths. The one that you mentioned, the 'precise & delicates' movement of him, the way Juyeon control his body & muscles, his expression on each movement, his well controlled & yet a very fluid type of movement that he have. It says it all.
And he did mentioned before that this Studio Choom performance is the one that he really have his confidence on. So I really beg to differ on your opinion that he lacks passion & feeling on this. But yeah again, we sees things differently.

this performance was absolutely beautiful. i love how he changed the meaning of the song completely; Billies lyrics are talking saying basically "just you wait until i reach the top, i'll prove you all wrong" whereas Juyeons dance portrays the loneliness of being at the top. He is moving like a marionette (puppet) being pulled every which way. every time he tries to move he gets pulled back by the invisible strings (who is controlling the strings is up to your interpretation).

the choreo wasn't meant to be super sexy and that's what i love most about it, its meant to make you dart your eyes back and forth trying to catch each of his little movements. And if you can't control your limbs the dance would look really weird, but he makes it so beautiful with his facial expressions and graceful yet forceful juts and thrusts. Juyeon basically takes the form of a puppet throughout the entire thing and he had INSANE body control. i just love this so much omfg

I'm not a person who usually makes comments on youtube but today I had to write one.
Despite following The Boyz, I'm not Deobi so I don't get to know a lot of "outside" things the group does. But somehow (which I don't remember) I knew that Juyeon would be Artist of the Month and I was excited because I always liked the way Juyeon dances and wanted to see more of that.

Ever move has enough space and time to stand out, while hitting the beat perfectly. His facial expressions never go over board, just small changes that don't detract from his body dancing, but add to it! Song choice? Great! The way he contorts his body but somehow makes it looks so natural?? Wtf! This one is all about the details and I really appreciate that. Out of all the male AOTM he is BY FAR the best. I really love how Juyeon dance. He does not overdo or exagerate his moves and facial expressions that it became so natural and not awkward to watch. Very pleasing in the eyes! Thank you~~upon learning of the song selection I searched for previous choreos of it and I found some really ingenious versions from world famous choreographers. Tbh I was a bit worried that he will be compared to those best dancers. But it turned out Juyeon and Mihawk nim created their very own original version with a story to tell. You won't see the shadow of anyone else here.

juyeon said he expressed himself in the process of overcoming a slump or struggle on his aotm. and it looks like he expressed a lot of that through movements where he’s being “controlled like a puppet” (almost as if he’s being controlled by the burdens he might feel) you can see lots of moments where he’s being dragged around or controlled by other dancers, or being moved with invisible strings. and at the end of performance he “breaks free” and overcomes those things controlling him. (signified how he transforms into a white outfit) at the 1:30 part, it looks like juyeon actually brushes off the dancer trying to control his movements like a puppeteer. then he makes a hand gesture as if telling them off, and he starts to make his own movements by himself. this is just a theory y’all. credits to dearhyunjaes on twitter!
Definitely agree with everything you said 100%. The choreography for sure gave marionette dance vibes and Juyeon executed them all beautifully.

I like how both deobi’s and non-deobi’s are supporting him in the comments. He really knows how to capture viewers’ attention with just his stare and then hits us with a powerful performance. TBZ are really good at telling stories through their performances and Juyeon really just carried it here with him. I don't know at all about TBZ, I usually don't watch studio's chooom artist of the month,, unlike i know them, but I was intrigued by the music he picked. I really like the fact that he picked something different, like Chaeryeong last month, something you don't expect them to do. This type of dance is difficult to pull off, and he killed it.

One of the biggest strengths of Juyeon is that his actor-like visual and aura make his stage performances more narrative. Like not only in here, when you see him on RTK or MAMA or Kingdom stages, you can always get the storylines directly through his dance and expressions. He's literally a main character material.

Sorry but for me this is the best aotm. Juyeon's dance, his moves are so clean and sharp, his emotions, energy are all on a completely different level. I think he is one of the best dancers of the generation. There is something in Juyeon that attracts the eyes and makes you fall in love.

I like others' aotm too, like Yeji's was really really good, Wooyoung's too, they are all very good dancers. But Juyeon's here just took this project to a different level. Besides dance performance, he (with Mihawk nim) incorporated their own storytelling into it and enhanced the artistry.

I just wanna say this. People only see how juyeon always get solo project but you all should realize that for doing those all, he also needs to sacrifice his time and energy.
