I own both and I like both...im a home owner and don't use them much but both are reliable... I did a muffler mod on my stihl to make it sound like the makita 4 stroke.. and don't use flat nozzles either..
Bro how you going to say makitia sucks in the comments and in the video lol. Stihl fanboi. Both are freaking awesome, but I love 4 strokes. I have used my makitia mm4 hand blower like the one in the video commercially for over 5 years. All day everyday and not one issue... I haven't even had to adjust the valves yet. Starts 1st pull everytime... Both are awesome, but I have NEVER seen someone talk sh!t on makita or Hondas its just shocking. Oh yeah and makitia mm4 trimmer is goat too. Edit: also my blower doesn't burn oil, you may have got a defective unit and if having to constantly add oil like you say it sounds like the piston rings are bad. Also after watching this video I don't even trust you to measure out the 80ml of oil it holds. You probably blew the rings out and destroyed the values on your 1st pull lol.
I have both of these and the Stihl is better for how it feels in your hand but the Makita breaks less. The Stihl always has carburettor issues but the Makita just runs constant. It's just heavier and pulls to 1 side when on full power. Also being 4-stoke is just more convenient for business owners.
If you can't find out where the origin of makita is i think you need to rethink buying lawn care equipment. By the way stihl is a German owned company And Makita is a Japanese owned company. I also like how in the test part you can see your thumb flick the kill switch on at 10:24 after a few pulls making the makita seem unreliable lol.
I’m with team STIHL because they are the best plus i prefer to use gas and oil mix then having to add oil to a Makita or any other 4 cycle blower. Because it’s less maintenance to have a 2 cycle engine. I use the VP 50:1 fuel for my STIHL BG86C blower. And I love my blower it usually takes 1 to 3 pulls to start every time. And I been buying STIHL equipments for 10 years now. My first one was a BR350 backpack blower then a FS56 RC trimmer. I sold both of them to my buddy in August of 2019 before my big move from Illinois to South Carolina. Now I have 4 STIHL equipments 3 batteries powered ones for my sister house including my RMA 510 V mower my FSA60 R trimmer. And my BGA57 blower. And for my house my BG86C. That I got for Christmas 7 months ago.
Hmm… I have a BG86, KM130r, ms180, and a BR800. Definitely a Stihl person myself but I prefer 4 stroke / 4mix stuff over the 2 cycle engines. I actually find them less finicky. The bg86 with the strato motors does have to warm up a bit before it makes full power and the muffler and engine mount bolts do tend to come loose. I haven’t used the Makita but seems like it should be a decent unit.
Have to disagree, owned both. The Makita is a better blower than the Stihl,I used mine commercially for eight years with no issues, reckon you bought a duff machine. I use my 86C as a vac only. Because my Husqvarna 525BX is the best hand held blower I've ever used! Love your enthusiasm though!
Enjoyed the video. Was hilarious 😂 I especially liked the dance you did pulling the cord on the Makita. Im in the markert for an 86 before next leaf season because of my father's 15 year old Stihl. One carb adjustment and one primer. Thats it. Also, our Stihl dealer is 15 min away. Might not be able to find someone to work on something from a big box store. Oh yeah, tell us what you really think about that Makita.😂
No bias shown on this test was there!! The Stihl is a good machine, powerful and light. The Makita however, is more economical, quieter, has more than ample power, and is more reliable. I`ve hammered mine for seven years without a problem at all, and no, you don`t need to keep adding engine oil! Learn how to start the Makita correctly and you`ll find it starts first pull - every time.
Stihl is a German company. Their products are made in different countries.Stihl makes a good product. I have stihl and honda. My 4stroke Honda's start faster and have been more reliable.
Im F ing done with 2-stroke anything. Loud smelly oily finicky temperamental 2-stroke. I love my Makita bhx2500 and it starts on the first pull now going on 7 years now.
I have a stihl bg 86 like yours and a john deere 4 stroke and I cant even tell u how old the john deere is but never had any issues with it and my stihl equipment is 3 years old been serviced several times carb problems and I don't use ethnol gas and I don't use that man mad junk 20 bucks a gallon crap real ethnol free gas id never buy still products again
Great question! Mikita has discontinued this blower because of manufacturer design flaws. This blower was plagued from the beginning. Thanks for watching!
I have owned my makita ( Japanese engineering 👍) 2501 for 8 years now with no problems... I use mobile 1. 5-30 oil... The makita will out last the stihl all day long...
We have some 30 year old makita stuff that proudly states made in Japan on them. Top quality. It's from china now though. So I doubt the quality can compare if you buy anything they make nowadays. Not sure when they switched over.
I will never choose option to use gasoline or gasoline with oil. First I hate the mixing, second your clothes stink from the smell of the mixture fuel. Mikita is better 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
@@DiscoveringHisWay Guessing that's why you shill for them then. Still trying to work out why you shout so fucking much. Must be when you were dropped on your head as a baby.
Was redest da für einen Unsinn?????Der Makita macht mindestens den gleichen Wind wie der Stihl bläser.ich bin seit vielen Jahren gärtner und habe sie beide in Benutzung.
I use Makita tools all day I rather have them than Stihl I must you generally.talk slot of crap I dont think you know sometimes what you are talking about here's a thing for what do you when you run out if 2 stroke petrol and have a bad mix you just need ordinary petrol
@@DiscoveringHisWay well an sorry to hear that but everybody as their own opinion it is I have used Makita for a long time and have found them to be as good as Stihl and Husqvarna and sometimes better the upside of a 4-stroke is that you will never run out of 2-stroke petrol mix or get a bad petrol mix that could destroy your engine saying that I do use a Stihl bg86 as a hand held vacuum as I have found it to be the best for that situation

👍 STIHL for life!!!!!

The funniest and the best product review I've ever seen!!

I ordered myself BG86 coming next week. Here in Croatia BG 86 costs 450€ ~ 500$
Awesome!! Congratulations.
@DiscoveringHisWay Thanks! I'm huge Stihl fan, just avoid their oils..

I just bought an sh86 so far it is a great blower !

“50mph is enough to rip shingles off a roof” “The makita blows air at 145mph”
“You have to be 3 inches away to move anything with the makita!”
… ???
Who knows when he pulled the string on the maktia maybe it havnt been ran in a long time while Stijl was used yesterday
Husky 525bx eats the BG86, but the 56/86 are better looking units
Husky is junk!
I prefer echo because Stihl left me in a yard pulling like that. Got echo brand and never looked back
Im F ing done with 2-stroke anything. Loud smelly oily finicky temperamental 2-stroke. I love my Makita bhx2500 and it starts on the first pull now going on 7 years now.
Mikita is disconnected because it’s junk; too many returns.
This is from the UK specs sheet Air velocity
69m/s²
69 Meters per Second =
154.34860 Miles per Hour
Sometimes different STIHL products are tuned differently for the country that they are in! Weird! Thanks for posting! Hey have a great weekend!
Matt
How would you like him as a neighbour no thanks.
Looks like a good neighbour keeps his yard clean.
@@jesusblessthesecommentsamenI think he means because of how obnoxious he is
You forgot to mention that BG86 can run in any position even upside down, which Makita can't because of oil.
Thanks!!
Always enjoy the videos! Keep them coming 😎👍 Stihl makes the best blowers in my opinion.
Glad you like them!
I have both and enjoy them very much.
The only stihl blower that everyone should start is the bg350
Always start both units on the ground
Honda 4 stroke is better then both of them
I have a stihl bg 86 like yours and a john deere 4 stroke and I cant even tell u how old the john deere is but never had any issues with it and my stihl equipment is 3 years old been serviced several times carb problems and I don't use ethnol gas and I don't use that man mad junk 20 bucks a gallon crap real ethnol free gas id never buy still products again
I've used and owned efco, makita, active, but stihl means no problems. You pay high price obviously.
Thanks for watching! You are the man using STIHL!!! Power it up today and get it on in the yard! Lol. Have a great weekend. M
What about fuel consumption?

You are trying with a different nozzle.
STIHL comes with 2 nozzles included, Mikita does not! Mikita sucks!
Preach it brotha!! Haha
Saved me a bunch of time and headache
Thanks!!
Glad it helped! Thanks for watching and posting!
You do the lawnmower huh, ???
Different nozzles 😕🤔
Yeah, the STIHL blowers /give different nozzle’s included in your purchase, Mikita does not! Mikita just sucks!!
haha love this guy
I wish there was an option to give a video a triple like! You rock Man!!!!
The stihl is £100 pounds more in England
And not 195 mph either.
UK one says 154 ish.
Totally agree £100 is a lot of money... Difficult decision and im glad you said it 👍
Wow your quite the actor
Wow, you’re quite the watcher.
Mention pollution.
How much have Stihl paid you to make this video ? If you told me the sky was blue i'd still look up to check.
They pay me 10 million dollars, all cash in small bills. Plus I asked for a chest of Gold bars dill weed!

Makita is for girls and weak suck sissies. You and your trimmer are a joke.
