My Dad has a good “Mayo stirrer” as the Hello Sport boys and THE Bloke In A Bar keep saying. Alex Johnston will not stay at the Bunnies beyond 2025, despite him being so close to being the greatest try-scorer of all time.
I’ve heard some talk of Papenhuyzen going to the dogs. That would do wonders for the club. Put him in fullback, move Tracey to wing without JAC, and develop Mitchell woods, that could be a very strong team.
Yeah I'd heard a bit of that too. I was reluctant to link him with them just because I think Tracey did such an outstanding job this year... but Papenhuyzen is obviously a class above when he's at his best.
Honestly Papi to the Dogs would be beneficial for both sides. Dogs get a replacement for JAC, and the Storm free up cap space to extend Pezet, Wishart, and Loeiro
Dylbags is no half, hes proved that several times in the past couple of years. I can totally see him stepping back over the Tasman, which would open the door for Parra to go full on Papenyuyzen with a move to fill that gap. Paps would make a great 5/8.
I completely see where you’re coming from, but he is only 24, and has never had a preseason training as an out and out halfback. I definitely think in time, he’s capable of being an SJ-style 7
Bro… what…. I’m baffled you even think this. 2 seasons ago when Parra made their finals run, Dylbags was a huge part of that. Last season he had a great year and this year was a good experience for him having to play without Moses and gain more experience running a team. With Moses back next year, Dylbags will go back to playing a running 6 who is THE BEST DEFENDER AT 6 must I add
@@2edunham141 ? I’m not sure what makes you think I disagree with anything you said there. I’m talking up his potential to one day be a high quality 7… There’s also no necessary defensive difference between 6 and 7. Various teams have their 7 play on the left like Brown does
Staggs and Cobbo’s transfer to another NRL club got me worrying as a Broncos Fan, it’s mostly going to be Kotoni moving to the Doggies but I believe Roosters might squeeze a room for him 🤞 But since Reece Walsh extended his contract til 2029 there could be a potential rumour for both Cobbo or Staggs to stay as Madge might come up with a soloution 🧐
To me, something’s got to give in that Broncos roster. If you don’t invest in a big money halfback - then you could probably keep both. But the pursuit of Sam Walker would suggest that the club does want a quality 7
Staggs is in negotiations … Mam is likely to get 12 months. NRL will give salary cap dispensation to the Broncos. Otherwise, they can just tear up Mam’s contract and re-sign him for 2026 when the ban expires ( They wouldn’t even need to worry about other clubs swooping in). They just replace him with either Hunt or O’Sullivan. I also don’t see Billy Walter’s hanging around after what the club did to his dad 😅
I would love to see Kotoni Staggs sign for the sharks "which is my team" because afb signed for us so i would love to see the tonga boys in the team but we dont really need a centre
Don’t know about 2026 but this off season I’ll say Terrell May to cross Anzac Parade and join South Sydney, making way for Ben Hunt to join Bondi, covering for the loss of Walker and Sandon Smith.
Jeez I’ll tell you what… that’s a move that’d add a massive chapter to the book of feuds. Roosters fans will certainly be hoping he doesn’t end up there
I could possibly see Papenhuyzen go to either the Roosters or Parra both make sense Roosters will need a fullback and Parra do jave have Ryles who came from the Storm and Papenhuyzen is also from Kellyville an Eels junior district. But with his injury record and they have also signed Iongi from the Panthers who should be given chance a fullback you could make a case that the money should be spent elsewhere on another good outside back, hooker or a few solid forwards
Hooker is definitely the priority at Parramatta for me, but fullback is a close second. The best forward pack doesn’t mean anything unless you’ve got a quality spine imo
I don’t know why Melbourne want to get rid of paps, he has just had one of his best seasons in years. And there will be no replacement fullback for Melbourne when sua faalogo gets injured and he’s an error machine
It’s not so much that they want to get rid of him, as that they have to. Fa’alogo makes the errors any rookie fullback does - I am very confident that he matures into an absolutely generational fullback. And he comes at a much lower cost than Papenhuyzen
@ yes but it would be good for Melbourne too just keep both of them because if paps is injured sua comes in, however sua gets injured a lot more than people think
@ their so just so young, I can’t see them playing next year with cassy only being 18 and Jesse being 19, I could see us signing JAC for 2 years, even with all these whispers about Too leaving could factor in
Also, you’re wrong about Penisini🤣 why would he want to leave the eels, when they’re literally 1 above average hooker away from being a Top 4 team with their roster next year. Mitchell Moses coming into his peak prime, Dylan Brown injured but will be back. Zac Lomax and Jack Williams both great signings with the potential of getting Josh Addo Carr. Then you have a forward pack of, Paulo, Cartwright, Tuilagi, Lane, Ofahengaue, Williams, Hopgood, Greigg and Guymer. You have a great young fullback in Iongi who’s been in great form in NSW Cup for the panthers, and Joash Papalii from Bulldogs who shows potential to also play the 6 jersey. Doesn’t make sense to leave to the Rabbitohs, who have a worse forward pack and 2 6’s playing in the halves with no true halfback. Then you have Jye Gray who showed great potential which could push Latrell to centre and with Campbell Graham coming back from injury, there would be no space for Penisini.
And then to add to this.. you mentioned the roosters who already have Billy Smith and Mark Nawaqanitawase at Centre with a great young up and coming centre Robert Toia. Doesn’t even make sense😂😂 bro’s just chucking in random teams without even thinking about their current rosters and juniors coming through
You’re giving a heap of ‘ifs’ - and then criticising me for basing my analysis on ‘ifs’. Given I explained every assertion I made in this video, clearly I did think about all of it. I think you’re massively overstating the shape parramatta are in, and then using that as a basis to have a go at me. You reckon a side in a spoonbowl is objectively 1 hooker away from top 4? Even with Lomax and JAC (who btw wasn’t linked with the Eels when this video came out). That forward pack is solid but it isn’t top line. Iongi is also years away from being a premiership calibre fullback, if he ever gets there at all. I’d definitely argue a Souths pack with Murray, Keaon, Tatola and Arrow is better. Gray did show good form at fullback. There is a small chance (though I’d say unlikely) that it pushes Latrell to centre. You saying that doesn’t make my analysis or mindset ‘backward’. It’s just another possibility. As for the Roosters, I expect Nawaquanitawase to shift to the wing in 2026 after Tupou retires. Freeing up a centre spot. Particularly if Billy Smith and Robert Toia’s injury histories continue. Especially given the link between Penisini and Suaalii. It’s a fact that the Roosters were interested in Cobbo, so why wouldn’t they potentially be interested in another high quality young outside back available at the same time? How can you be given those factors and still say I didn’t put thought into this video…? Please do tell me how you reached the conclusion that my ‘thinking is backward’ from a fun little transfer video…
Ah - NRL.com’s contract tracker lied then. They do often take a very long time to update it, I have no idea why. I thought I double checked everything but must have missed it. Thanks for letting me know though man
Townsend, RCG, Cook, Holmes and Fisher-Harris already are confirmed in those teams. Walsh was resigned with Broncos until 2029, Liu is going to Leigh Leopards, Gutherson is definitely going to the Dragons, Cowboys aren't going for Cobbo anymore, Wishart/Brown maybe, Paps and Munster very wrong!!!
