- Its been a while, but the factory is up and running again! We kick off production this year by painting one of the most inexpensive high grade kits out there. At the making of this video, this kits retails for a very affordable $8 USD but its a quick and fun kit to build and paint! Highly recommended for those wanting a quick gunpla fix. Here at the factory, I had a lot of fun building and painting it. I hope you guys enjoy the video!

I started on my GM to learn airbrushing, but I broke many pegs when deassbleming legs parts then I've your channel. Just right when I needed it. Great production!

Very nice build and coloring. I liked how you brought up some details by color separation. For the cameras and eyes/visors, have you ever considered applying a silver or chrome base (I use the Molotow chrome pen) before applying the clear green coat? In my experience it gives an even better look, with some added depth and more realistic feel.
I do that as well. Molotow is a great chrome and clear color on top of it really makes it pop! I love to use it on the joints and pistons to make the mechanical parts show through better.
If im not mistaken, you were mixing acrylic with lacquer paint..is that doable? wouldn't the lacquer 'eat' the acrylic?

Hey, I really really want to know what exact music you used at 3:58, please.
Thank you GSF! This is my first time watching a Gunpla painted (as I come more from a miniature painting background). Do you always paint everything with the airbrush (except for the wash in the recesses), or do you also use a "normal" brush? For what things do you use one or the other? What exact brand of masking type were you using? (It works like magic under your fingers!)
Oh, and since I am totally new/newb' to this hobby, do people ever paint color transitions for the shadows, or do you always always paint a surface with a single color (except for washes, but I'd count them as painting a specific surface)? Just looking for tips and information.

It isn't a bad choice, since it's dirt cheap. However, I think the HGUC revive RX-78 or HGAC Leo are better choices. These are also cheap, but they're much newer.

If you're still interested, the tune is called "Hunch". It's a remixed version of the menu theme from Mobile Suite Gundam Target in Sight (Crossfire) for PS3.

I'm not sure exactly when the kit was made, but the box mine came in says "BANDAI 2001" So it is at the very least a 20 year old design for sure.

Hi there, this build was made and recorded 5 years ago before the pandemic, back then the hobby was much cheaper. Things in general were much cheaper then. Unfortunately, nowadays everything is way more expensive. Stay Safe out there and thank you for stopping by the channel! :)

I wish i could get the classic GM, but the guy selling it on Shopee is a scammer, and that GM is the only classic one on sale. I don't trust that seller.

Idk how to thin tamiya paints help
Tamiya recommend you thin 2:1 ratio, thats two parts paint, one part thinner. Example: 2ml of tamiya paint, to 1ml of tamiya thinner.
I personally thin tamiya 1:1 ratio or 50/50. Thinner paint gives me a bit more control and flows well, though, the trade off is that a thinner paint runs the risks of causing runs if you spray it on heavily. Multiple even thin coats is recommended. Hope this helps!
But why is it minty greenish
I was surprised to find out that's the original color of this GM model. There is many versions of the GM and some later/better spec models sport the more familiar white color.

Not necessarily, you can brush paint your kits but airbrushing them will give you a superior result with less effort. However, *Owen* from the *Quick Kits* youtube channel does *AMAZING* hand painted aircraft scale models and has a sweet how-to tutorial:
