    Absolutely rediculous how usain has the 16th fastest when he got 9.69 in the beijing olympics, BRO HAD HIS HANDS UP AND WAS CELEBRATING FOR THE LAST 10m AND WAS STILL ONE OF THE FASTEST 60-100m times ever. What an absolute beast of a human he is.

    This channel is amazing. Thank you so much for these videos. That only three sprinters (Bolt, Gay and Blake) has ever run the last 40 metres faster than 3.36 really shows just how amazing Bolt´s last 40 metres were when he did it in 3.27 in Berlin and 3.28 in London. Those two marks stand out much more among the fastest last 40m splits than Su Bingtian´s 6.29 stand out among the fastest 60m splits. The combination of how outstanding that 3.27 split is and the fact that Bolt also has the second fastest 60m split of all time (6.31) really shows how incredible his 9.58 mark is. If someone can match Tyson Gay´s fastest last 40m split of 3.31 he would need to have reached the 60m mark in 6.26 in order to break the world record. If someone can match Bolt´s 3.28 from the London Olympics he would need to match Su Bingtian´s 6.29 over the first 60 metres in order to break the world record. Even if someone would be able to beat Bolt´s best mark and run the last 40 metres in something like 3.25 he would still need to match Christian Coleman´s best 60m split of 6.32 in order to break the world record. In other words it is virtually impossible to break that world record without simultaneously being one of the greatest starters of all time and one of the greatest finishers of all time which obviously is a very difficult thing to achieve. Bolt who has the second fastest 60m split and the fastest last 40m split of all time is at the moment the only one who is near the top in both categories.

      Thank you. Bolt's World Record is unlikely to be broken in the next 25 years if anyone ever breaks it. This is a phenomenon no one else can get close to its maximum speed. It's possible that the peak of human evolution is behind us, as it's not without the case of the five fastest sprinters in history that dates back to the period 2008-2015.

      @@speedanalysischannel1165 Yes and as amazing as his 200m record is the 100m record really seems to be far more unattainable. The combination of that great start and that incredible finish is truly outstanding and unless some top sprinter gets perfect conditions with high altitude combined with a strong but legal tailwind I agree that it is unlikely that someone will run faster than 9.58 in the near future. In the 200 metres it looks like Erriyon Knighton possibly might be able to challenge the 19.19 record in the near future but considering how much less impressive he has been in his 100m races I doubt that he will threaten the 9.58 record. Especially considering that the 100m record is stronger than the 200m record even without taking into account that Knighton seems to be far more suited for the 200m event than the 100m event.

      @@sebastiankarlsson735 Yes 100m and 200m are completely different races which require special traits. 200m sprinters are combain fast twitch fibers A intended more for 400m runners that is have capability to keep speed endurance and FTF B intended for 100m sprinters. Blake's 19.26 has shown everyone where are the speed endurance limits. And now we are seeing youngers like Knighton and Fahnbulleh with huge potential to change the historic tabels on 200. The chance to break 200m WR is still far away but is much more close than 100m which there are no successors on the horizon for that distance

      @@Pumpxkin those people are lazy to the point of doing some research. Bolt in his prime was better everywhere. Recently Su ran the 60 m split in 6.29 s, which is the 0.02 s faster than Usain's 60 m split in Beijing. That's how much people can expect to improve on Usain's WR. But Usain's last 40 m are crazy fast, like 3.27 s fast, so... And he did those times in the same race, so he put together a pretty fast overall time.

    • @Pumpxkin
      @Pumpxkin 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@Yes_I_c4n Now we have Fred Kerley saying he can break the WR, lmfao. Even Tyson Gay+Su Bingtian is 6.29+3.31 which is still a 9.60. Also may I tell you that Bolt's last 40m time is equal to a 0.82 10m segment time multiplying by 4. Most sprinters can barely reach 12 meters per second (Jacobs) and then drop off immediately after. His finish is 3.39. What is the difference between 3.39 and 3.27 in such a short distance (40m) in such a short time? Multiply by 2.5 which would get you 100m and that would be a 3/10ths of a second difference in the 100m! Honestly if Bolt didn't exist I feel like 9.69-9.72 would still be the WR. Using iaaf points, a 6.32 which is Coleman's split is a 9.69 and Su's 6.29 would be like a 9.64.

Put together the best splits ever (under legal wind conditions) and you'll end up with a time slightly better than 9.58s, though nit by much @ 9.56 s. What splits do you get for Kerley´s 9.76 and 9.77? The 60m splits given at the USATF results page suggests that Kerley split 6.46s in both races which would put his last 40m splits at 3.30s and 3.31s. But due to all of the inconsistencies in the 10m splits posted there I personally doubt the accuracy of those splits and it would be interesting to see what splits you get in those races.

While USATF is analyzing automatically and going against it's purpose of the timing system. It is supposed to track the necessary track event's times and not really track split times. This is why I trust people who take a lot of time to analyze thoroughly such as you. It makes it a whole lot easier. How many times did Bolt start well though? There were many cases where he would barely get 1st or a podium spot because of his starts. It isn't terrible, it's okay-mediocre I would say, especially at the first 30m. Though Blake has bad starts and could've perhaps gotten a similar time to Bolt if his start was similar in both 100 and 200
