one of the best video I've seen on the cicadas, especially the combination of the 13 year and 17 year brood resurrection. One error in the story says that the sound comes from rubbing their wings. Contraction of a tymbal muscle causes it to bend, producing a loud sound. The wings only help directing the sound.

Both at the same time. Will be mainly, Iowa and Illinois. Other parts in the US may only one breed.
They are harmless, but very loud. So Iowa and Illinois, you may want to get yourselfs some earplugs. They can go (over)
80 decibels. If it's hot, they get even louder.
And those baby's, being in the ground for so long. The males are going to come out wanting some titillating action. For the females. Lol.
And the males are the one's that are the loudest. Singing their love song, to attract the quieter females. Aren't we lucky they're not both loud. Lol
But if you, spray some vinegar or peppermint round near your tree and bushes. That will detour them from going on them. Okay, I wish you all well, in the resurrection of the cicadas. 😊

The basic points were made, but this video appears to have been produced by someone who knows very little about cicadas. For one thing, so many of the photos were of unrelated genera of cicadas, many being of the genus Diceroprocta, and others being Neotibicen, neither of which are periodical cicadas--I suspect "stock" photos were simply thrown into this video. However, another thing remarkable about the upcoming emergence is that all seven species of Magicicada will be present--Magicicada neotredecim (a rather recently-described 13 year species) is found in only one brood, and this is a year in which they will appear. BTW, I doubt the birds are "looking forward" to this--they will simply respond by taking advantage of the plentiful food available when if happens.

200 years ago was 1803, Louisiana purchase/new Madrid earthquake…. This year during the eclipse. 6 weeks(remember 6 and go look a cern logo). Oh yea also cern is going to be doing some particle physics on the day of the eclipse to try and open something that shouldn’t be open. Also the devil comet is also in orbit. If your in USA look west during sunset on a clear day, you should see the “Devil” comet. He does come and go about earth. Guess he APOLLYON/SHIVA(look at cern again) will be making an appearance soon. also Israel has some red heifers they will soon sacrifice daily. And during that time in the book of Daniel it’s revealed that the antichrist shall interrupt said Sacrifices. All these things happening around the eclipse, the day the sun and moon shall darken….

The cicadas will feed so many species this spring. I can't wait to watch our local wild turkeys 🦃 having their feast in the forest behind my townhouse. Cicadas can harm trees when they split the bark to lay eggs on the branches but Amazon has a sticky tree wrapping tape to protect your trees... I have already gotten some to protect my young Japanese Maples . Just prepare and try to behave like a RATIONAL human being... it will be over in a few weeks !

ALLAH SAID 21:30 Have those who disbelieved not considered that the heavens and the earth were a joined entity, and We separated them and made from water every living thing? Then will they not believe?
FORTHER MORE 21:33 It is He Who created the Night and the Day, and the sun and the moon: all (the celestial bodies) swim along, each in its rounded course.
51:47 And the heaven We constructed with strength, and indeed, We are [its] expander.
36:38 And the sun runs [on course] toward its stopping point. That is the determination of the Exalted in Might, the Knowing.
39:5 He created the heavens and the earth in true (proportions): He makes the Night overlap the Day, and the Day overlap the Night: He has subjected the sun and the moon (to His law): Each one follows a course for a time appointed. Is not He the Exalted in Power - He Who forgives again and again?
78:7 And the mountains as stakes?
16:15 And He has cast into the earth firmly set mountains, lest it shift with you, and [made] rivers and roads, that you may be guided,
THERE IS 1100 VERSES DESCRIBE THE CREATION AND THE PEURPOS OF IT AND JUST U NEED TO READ AND DESCOVER. THERE IS NOTHING CAN COME BY CHANCE AS ALLAH GIVE YOU CHALENG TO DISAPROVE THE QURAN AND HE SAID 4:82 Then do they not reflect upon the Qur'an? If it had been from [any] other than Allah, they would have found within it much contradiction.
ALSO ONTHERE CHALENG FOR YOU ALLAH SAID 2:23 And if you are in doubt about what We have sent down upon Our Servant [Muhammad], then produce a surah the like thereof and call upon your witnesses other than Allah, if you should be truthful.

AND THIS IS SURAH IF YOU CAN GIVE SOMTHING SIMILLAR TO THIS ( 112:1 Say, "He is Allah, [who is] One,112:2 Allah, the Eternal Refuge.112:3 He neither begets nor is born,112:4 Nor is there to Him any equivalent.")
