I like this voice, but I think you should keep experimenting. I miss it being like a kindly grandpa reading you a bedtime story/a calming nature documentary. It was the perfect juxtaposition of tones. Writing great as ever! Worthy of a non AI voice actor, infact.
I like how the previous narrator was like a kindly scholar teaching his students about the horrors of the cosmos and the new one is more blunt and cold but still a great teacher
@@Nudhul if the Attenborough estate didn't want him using the voice isn't it just the polite thing to do, to stop using it? Maybe, instead of telling people to grow a pair you should try growing some humanity.
I've watched 4 videos from your channel. I just found out this is AI. ... _Okay, i think it's time for narrators to start worrying. Because this is flat out better than a good chunk of of narrators i've heard._
While this voice is firm, stern and clear, as a voice of an experienced commander or inquisitor, we long for a voice with a hint of frail note. A voice that could put us to sleep rather than spur our bodies into attention
The voice is perfect for the material. Sadly the best part of Attenborough was that he didnt sound like he should be doing warhammer lore, which made it all the better
This voice actually match the whole 40K vibe, imo. It's clear, it's straightforward, yet has a Stephen Fry-esque delivery in a way, which fits just as well for the explanation of the lore. (I'm having the ''Hitchiker's Guide...'' movie in mind when writing that, rather fittingly) The Attenborough angle was clever and I did enjoy that way of explaining the lore but this voice nailed it rather well!
love the new voice! idea: make multiple voices, tell stories from the pov of individuals engaged, maybe even the same happening from the same perspective
I dont mind the new voice, but imo the one thing that set this channel apart from others was the "Attenborough-esque" voice, made you feel as if you were watching a documentary, i preffered it that way. but keep it up!
I am heartbroken learning that the attenborough voice has gone, I would go to bed watching a playlist of these videos just because I loved hearing him speak
It would be cool if you could change the voice depending on the topic. So you have a voice for necron lore and one for eldar lore etc. Would make it feel like many scholars work together
I like this and I will continue watching your content. I'm curious if this could be a new opportunity for your channel. Instead of just using one voice, perhaps you have the opportunity to create a "cast" of voices. Maybe even an Orc voice for orc videos? If you're writing allowed for projected biases frim the "narrators" it would be fun to hear an Ork try to explain imperial society, or an Eldar discuss the tyranids
Not a fan of the new voice but I am a fan of the channel. I'll stay subbed in hopes that you continue experimenting with different voices until there's a good fit. Keep up the good work.
uhhhgg yea ... love some Necron lore .. Necron and Eldar have amazing lore.. like next lvl , with the space marines you get more or less the same things The change GW did with the Necron lore was the right move . they made it right amazing job .. The lore they try to create now the past few years with the Edar and there god of the dead and killing Slanesh was all kinds of stp.. everyone knew they re not going to do it forcing the new faction in a corner and ppl not caring much about the books
I can't see new people complaining about this voice at all because in the end, it sounds great and fits the role of a narrator for 40k perfectly. People who subscribed prior to the new voice, like me, will miss the gentle and softer narration of the prior voice though. It was a stark contrast to what was being talked about in the videos, especially the "Making of a Servitor" narration.
I don't dislike this voice, but you should maybe consider experimenting with a couple others to see what fits. Your writing and presentation is awesome. I have no doubt your channel will continue to grow. I've seen some comments suggesting maybe a group of voices? Historitors that focus on different aspects of lore. Just my two cents. Awesome stuff as always.
Content is great as usual. The voice needs some tuning. The sound is okay but it's too theatrical and too much gravitas for it to listen to it as a cozy backdrop while doing other work. It was the 'weariness' that made Attenborough's voice so suitable for it. If you can make a voice sound 'weary' that would be amazing.
Now. I wish to hear more voices! as now no longer you are shackled by a single voice. It may be a good idea to search for custom voices among those you can hire to sample the speech.
Ok It took awhile but I've finally come around to a different voice. I'll always miss Great Granddaddy Dave's voice overs (somehow made it feel real) but I'm ready to except and move on. Keep the good work coming!
We'll done on how you handled the Attenborough situation. Love this channel! Could I maybe ask you what software you use for these videos? I have a story I've written that i would like to have narrated. I'm sure you've been asked before but can't find anything in the comments. Appreciate any response😊
I was in the garage while wearing flip-flops and I dropped a can of spray paint on one of my big toes... this pain is nothing compared to the pain in my heart after losing your first videos. Where do I go, what do I do now ?
I find it funny, that the very creatures who made them undead, the ones they shattered, were the ones that made their life a living hell when they had a living body. Instead of shattering them, they should have found a way to eat them.
Hey bro was there some legal peoblem with using the Attenborough voice?, did sone one ask you to stop doing it or dis you just feel like taking a different direction??? Eother way both are cool voicea and i dig your lore content. Always awesome no matter what voice
Voice still sounds like the slow love child of a 40 pack a day smoker and darth vader. I do not intend any disrespect. It still sounds too close to Boldermort's voice and is too slow in its speech, takes "breaths" too often and very has little change in tempo or tone so sounds flat. Id suggest an older more weary and throughtful voice, one that speeds up its tempo, as it seemingly enjoys the current passage. Slowing down when been serious. Ending on higher inflections or lower sobre tones when talking about something joyful or horiffic. Attenbough's voice has that range which the AI picked up upon rather well, this new voice lacks those qualities.
new one is more blunt, i liked the old man touch on the previous voice :( It was like a old and kindly scholar, teaching his students. if you can make this one "older" it will be ghreat. or maybe aditionaly add some "tech" to it, to sound more... adeptus coult

I find that the Necrons in their lore and the Necrons in the game don't align. They are suppsoed to wield Technology that for all intents and purposes are indistinguishable from magic. This is further highlighted by the insane power scale of the War in Heaven. And yet all they really have are some almost basic looking Robots with Green guns. If I were at the head of GW I would slightly retcon the Necrons and make it so that the Necrons encountered so far are entirely from Fringe Worlds. And that the basic Soldier of a Crown World can safely wipe out 100 Space Marines without breaking a sweat.
Hey @Scholars Lore, you should have this character 'introduce themselves' like David used to, as a member of the Imperium. Perhaps the old lore keeper has been 'recalled to Terra', and the new scholar has taken over :)
