They are very dependable if you keep your blades clean. I highly recommend the Wahl pro-series rechargeable clippers at a cost of $49.97 in most Walmart Stores in their pet department. If you've used them twice for giving a hair cut they will have paid for themselves. By the way, I do not recommend sprays that cool and clean clipper blades - they will cause your blades to become dull in very short order.
