If u watch the content they put out surrounding the creation of xg he literally says that the foundation of kpop is the trainee system and if u apply it to other countries u can create really talented trainees. xg is marketed as a global group but so is &team only difference is xg cater the east and western markets while &team cater to only the east (jpn and kr).

Just like how other kpop groups can promote english singles in kr xg are allowed to do the same. and besides xg do come from a smaller company compared to the big 4 and are promoting like any other group would to gain recognition.
