I dont dare to use high pressure on my car. I am afraid all the duct tape will blow off, causing the car to fall apart.

Good content as always James. May I be as bold as to offer up some critique - To ensure the wheels have been properly washed, roll the car half a wheel turn - so the top which you can't see is then at the bottom and in the TDF's case the area that was behind the caliper is then not obstructed. Also the iron/contaminant remover is much more effective on a clean surface so benefits from being used after the washing/shampoo phase. All the best, Chris

This is brilliant and very interesting to see the lengths you go to for a ‘proper wash’. One thing that does interest me, how he stand up on those wet tiles? They must be like ice with all that water and solutions on them?

A good soap a proper clay bar job is all thats required.. You can't get a better finish. A lot of practises here are assembly line industrial processes for efficiency.... If you are doing this at home.. Hose, foam, 2 bucket wash, rinse then clay bar properly. It will cost you more time but yield the same result.

An improvement on the 2 bucket method is to use multiple new microfibre cloths, discarding them as you use each side up. That way you're confident you're not dragging any dirt along the paintwork and not putting dirt into the bucket.

@mrjww great breakdown of the washing stage. As a pro detailer I actually learned my steps from watching @pauldalton from @miracledetail videos many years ago. It was like watching one of his videos which are great. So good work. look forward to watching the next videos. I would add snow foaming the car when claying as it gives a safer amount of lubricity between the clay bar and lacquer and adds the cleaning agent once again for that final deep clean step. Just a little encouragement to your already great process.

I actually use RO water all the time, I have a cheaper 3 stage setup with a deionizing filter at the end, 100 gallons per day. I'm looking at going to a 5 stage setup with a UV filter to lower my PPM that little bit extra. Pure water with nothing else left in it is pretty oddly amazing/satisfying to see. It just moves and looks a little different to me. Cool stuff.

Hey James, really interesting video. I'm a Chemical Engineering student - just a comment on reverse osmosis, would it not be sufficient to have an ultrafiltration or nanofiltration membrane? A reverse osmosis unit uses much higher pressure and is more expensive, but the difference in purity is just that RO removes monovalent and multivalent ions in addition to other impurities. This also makes me question why you would need a de-ionisation unit when you're using a RO membrane, since they both remove ions. Thanks for sharing your processes.

Also the straight line scratch thing is a myth. You wash in straight lines as apposed to circular because it's not thorough. You're more likely to miss dirt in circular motions.
If you look at swirls it's actually lots of straight line scratches but when a bright source of light hits the paintwork it looks like circular scratches.
