This was very helpful compared to other online reviews I found, thanks. My old Cuisinart is making bad coffee and I'm pitching it.

I have had Cuisinart coffee makers for probably over 20 years. First I had a couple of the stainless steel clad retro design with the toggle switch, I think the DCC 1200. Then I got the DCC 3200, which got hotter and made better coffee. I have had several of those. The first couple seemed toose their temperature after about a year, but the last one has been maintaining itself for good while, although I clean it more frequently, but the last couple months I can't get coffee to come out right--it's too strong, so I had to stop using the Bold setting, and it's still more bitter, but it may be the beans are different from the same supplier. I use a Cuisinart Supreme Brew Coffee Mill, which is been working okay, thinking it might have to do with that I have bought various more expensive Coffee grinder and even went back to using my mr. Coffee blade grinder, and none of them really solve the problem. It's funny how one component such as a bad batch of beans or a coffee machine that may not be working right can send you on an expensive wild goose chase until you find out what the problem is. I wonder if my machine is finally not getting hot enough for real, I think maybe the brewing time has increased buy that 25%, but I'm not sure.
In all those Cuisinarts, I believe the Clean button is supposed to illuminate when it needs cleaning, but on not one of my numerous Cuisinart coffee makers has the Clean button ever lit up by itself, no matter how long I had gone without cleaning it. So I would like to know, since you can't see the Clean button in the new touch screen model, how do you turn it on if you want to clean it?
Another problem is, about a year ago I thought my current DCC 3200 was losing temperature, but it turned out it needed cleaning. However before I realized that I purchased a new DCC 3200, the P1 updated version, and the beeps when the brewing was finished were much fainter--you could hardly hear them a few feet away. I thought it was defective and returned it. But if this is a change they made to the new versions, that's a problem because I like to be able to hear the beep in the next room or two. Otherwise there's no point in having it. Since it can be turned off I don't know why they would need to do that. I think the beeps on their older DCC 1200 was pretty faint also.

Is the T20 have wider or better drip design - from the top when you opened lid it looked a little better? But for $49 + its not worth it

Still thinking about purchasing the touchscreen model. Are you still using it and are you still happy with it?

i would personally like to do a taste test from either one.
i ended up returning my bonavita model, i didn't like it, it made my coffee more bitter/bolder tasting, i use a light less acidic roast and i don't make it per the instructions or how most people make their coffees, i use less coffee than prescribed. the cooking temp was great and brewed around the 8-9min mark but the plastic on it was flimsy, carafe was too thin of glass with a narrow opening making it harder to clean, it could easily break and didn't have a top to it, looked cool and artsy but i didn't like it or the bitterness/taste. however, i did get that faster mr. coffee one for $30, i was thoroughly impressed with it, blows the bonavita away imho, sturdy plastic, brew time 7-8 min range which is what the pros say for brew time (between 4-8min) at around 195degree temp and was pretty fast, the taste was great, i still have and use. i also splurged and got the vp17 commercial bunn, all stainless steel, thoroughly impressed with it, still have it and using, great taste, smooth, and no plastic taste although i can taste a stainless steel taste which is smoother than plastic, super fast brew time 3.5mins, which i think might be a bit too fast, i wonder if there is a way to adjust the time?? i don't think it brews long enough, i personally think it should be at least another min or 2 to put it around the 5min mark but it does taste great, but not that much different than the $30 mr. coffee to justify $300 so that is my only complaint but it knew ahead of time.
i'm still wondering about that 14cup cuisnart and how it tastes. maybe i can find a cheap used one on craigslist.? i thought i would catch you up on my latest coffee adventures so sorry for the novel. thanks.

The only issue i could see in the long run is the touch screen having problems but Cuisinart is usually pretty reliable.

Yeah, I thought the same thing. It such a shot in the dark. I have had some viewers say that there physical buttons stop working, but for the most part Cuisinart are good products with good customer support.
