In case nobody noticed, the last cards revealed have confirmed something.
At first, I thought a Disney Character could have several Dreamborn versions, but only one Floodborn version. But the last set of cards reveals Disney Characters can actually have more than one Floodborn:
Something of note with Pride Lands, correct me if I'm wrong, but this is the first card we have in Lorcana that grants extra willpower instead of strength, which is notable as it makes your characters bulkier. I know Resist kinda does the same thing (and it does it better since it protects you from ping), but still, I find it cool. About time we got a card that raises willpower.
So if you have damage over your initial willpower, but under the enhanced willpower, then you can move to another location to kill your own character which is interesting
I like an Amber/Steel build that runs Resist as well. 😂 That will be fun. It may not be competitive, but it will be fun. You'll have 2 drop Simbas and Kidas doing the bodyguard thing with 5 Willpower and at least Resist +1 from Little John.
Sweet! We’re getting the first Treasure Planet location card in the form of the RLS Legacy! I hope that we’ll get the other TP location ones like the BennBow Inn, the Montressor Spaceport, and of course, Treasure Planet itself! 😁
I think Ursla being 3 drop is the best thing for her... having singer would have been way too much, but at 3 you can see her early, and all of the impact full songs that want to be double tapped are 3 cost or lower outside of a grab you swords, situational AWNW, and some newer sapphire stuff.
Floodborn Jafar gives me a headache, not only because of its ability, but because it's a legendary, it's gonna be upwards of $50, so it's gonna be hard to obtain.
If you play the sorcers hat in the steel amethyst deck you could call jafar and if your playing 4 of each jafar that would be 24 copies almost half your deck lol. Obviously not good but thats hilarious
Yeah, I am pretty sure morph and trumpeter will be nuke on site for teeth and storm rage on. He will probably be much scarier in blue steel, though. I did have a thought looking through the other revealed cards. Since Ursula says "Play that song again from your discard for free", wouldn't that instantly trigger airfoil which says "if you've played two or more actions this turn, draw a card"? That seems like it could be a very strong card draw engine. It could also be really nuts with prince john and whole new world. mill an empty hand, then mill a full hand and get 14 cards. Also fits strongly with the sheriff, bayou, beast combo. @@lorcana_inkwell
That Jafar is disgusting tbh. Floodborn, Evasive, the busted ability and the card is STILL inkable. Why? What I hate about amethyst is the ways they have to get lore that you just can't stop.
@lorcana_inkwell The hope is the game gets ridiculously annoying? 😆 Personally I don’t love a combo that can pretty much auto-win especially as it doesn’t require a huge amount of set up - I can’t see how that’ll be particularly rewarding to play and it will be frustrating and fun-killing to play against. I absolutely love Lorcana but there are some card designs in set 1/2 that aren’t necessarily conducive to fun and rewarding game play. Worried that’s being amped up in set 3. But we’ll see - I’m probably wrong (usually am!). On the flipside, there are so many fun card designs I’m looking forward to in set 3 so I’ll finish on an optimistic note! 😁
@@R8C2 Pretty much my thoughts exactly. You pretty much have to kill Beast Immediately, otherwise they can drop Bayou/Sheriff and win on the spot (2 lore per Willpower your opponent has). Throw in four of the new anti-song Ursula, the new evasive Wildcat, Whole New World, and maybe Prince John
I think that you are putting far too much emphasis on the move cost of Locations. Three Ink sounds like a lot to move a character, and it is. But BANISHING the character that challenges it is HUGE. It SHOULD be reasonably costed. Can you actually imagine if the move cost here were only 1?! It would be a no brainer. As it stands, Jim can play it for free, then move there for free. Its hikarious that you missed that, yet you mentioned Jim the very next turn for the pirate ship. 😂 I can see a card like Merfolk being moved here in an Emerald/Ruby deck, then wrecking hands and board states, or being left alone to outright win the game. Having been able to play with locations last night on Pixelborn, I can promise you that they matter. A turn 1 or 2 Location can gain you so much lore when unanswered. If your opponent does answer it, then it sets you up for challenging. Which according to what someone on the Lorcana team said, is what they want.
All fair points. I did make the point that challenging locations will open up for challenge returns and that it's waht the game wants to be doing. There's no WAY that locations are as unimpactful as I think they are... I just need to see it.
That jafarre is disgusting. If you go first and your opponent doesn’t have hard removal on tuen five, then he can single handedly get 14 lore in two turns with two grab you’re swords. And by that second rush you probably already have ways to draw more cards. That card is a turn 6 win con. I hate jumping to conclusions when it comes to new cards, but I’m positive that card will be the first card in lorcana to get banned. Amethyst just has way too much draw already.
You don’t even need a whole new world theres characters that let you draw in steel like the discard two draw two I don’t see how they don’t ban this card someone can play multiple small jafar shift targets to help you shift and easy to get to 13 lore but realistically you don’t even need 13 you can have a singer 5 turn 3 turn 4 shift jafar now you can sing two a whole new world gain 14 lore one turn this card 100% going to get banned.
Ho hum, the legendary cards might be destroying the game for me. When they are revealed my interest in the game just decreases. I will never have them. Or if I accidentally happen to get one I will just have a single copy anyway, so will not be able to build a deck around it. More and more it seems like the idea is not so much to have odd quirky legendary cards that maybe can be used but rather that the game is designed so that each good deck *needs* to have many legendary cards. That is just the worst side of TCGs - "pay to win". Hopefully there will be a living "Poorcana" scene, otherwise I'm not certain I can keep my enthusiasm for the game. (I might feel different tomorrow.)

I was thinking of playing Ruby/Emerald because of fang but after seeing the queens castle I’m sticking with Ruby/Amethyst.

I don’t think it works that way. It is a lore for each instance of drawing, not each draw from the wording. Compare with prince john for an example
