I bought the Interpol edition Q magazine to get this single on vinyl and when it arrived, I played it straight away. The confusion I felt with this track not being on an album was unbelievable. It turned out to be better than any song on Marauder.
It was recorded for El Pintor and should've been on it, only tracks on El Pintor I love are all the rage and tidal wave. the bonus tracks and all at once are so much fucking better then whats on the actual album
I’m almost insulted this never made it onto a proper album. Literally one of their best songs ever made and they just casually pulled it out of the bin for some mediocre limited vinyl release. Huge shame, but great work with the mix
this is literally one of the best songs I ever listened to. I'm not even kidding. I'm obsessed with interpol since someone special showed it to me all the way back to 2015. and even so, even knowing almost every song they ever released, I just came to know about this song today. it's uncomprehensible to me how they hid it and just act like it never existed. that's sad. I wish we can see a proper studio version and some live performances of it. although it's been 4 years and it's still an obscure b-side to this day. sad.
@@gustavogoesgomes1863 Worded my thoughts perfectly as well. Maybe the band's direction isn't really resonating with some lsiteners where they want to go away from this sound as Marauder and The Other Side of Make Believe sound very differently to this. Oh well... :(
@@infraredradiator I think that they have many styles, and they can (and should) coexist. I'm absolutely loving the other side of make believe so far (fables was weaker, but whatever) my problem is just letting a jewel like that abandoned when it could easily be one of their greatest songs... I mean, for me, it already is. I'm even planning on covering it in the future. please, Interpol, give this song an album recording!
[Verse 1] Slow day and I go straight for your heart You say, "alright, big deal, so what?" My kind of heroes are weak Restless, alone, on the street No shame, it's a real drain on your heart I know how you feel [Chorus] "Release me now", she said We're always never ending It's just a process that took your faith All at once We held it tight enough to reach inside And nobody changed And no reply We're falling down All at once [Verse 2] Lately, I'm always awake Shit, I got no friends to meet today Go swing your heels from the dark You'll go spin your wheels No shame, it's the real drain on your heart You say, "alright, big deal, so what?" [Chorus] "Release me now", she said We're always never ending It's just the prospects that took your blames All at once We held it tight enough to reach inside And nobody changed And no reply We're breaking down All at once All at once We felt it time enough To reach inside And nobody blames And so dignified could throw us down All at once The answer, the answer, the answer All at once The answer, the answer, the answer
@@ayrtlamrin2264 All at once. this song here. It was recorded alongside El Pintor. They released it only on a Vinyl in the UK for some reason years later. This song still does not have a proper digital release
After comparing this with the two versions I have downloaded, I do not think this mix actually improves anything. Rather, this mix feels rather detrimental to the audio quality. I recognise you cannot always do miracles when mixing from an MP3 recording of a vinyl, but this mixing seems to distort more than it clears up. Perhaps if you were going for Marauder vibe with the mix it would work (whether that vibe is desirably is debatable) .
It does have Marauder vibes now, doesn't it? I don't disagree that it's muddy, but I personally found it better than the super thin sounding vinyl rip I found on TH-cam. But to each their own, thanks for listening!
I disagree, on a cell phone speaker the bass frequencies probably muddy up the mix but OP’s EQ and Stereo-ization definetly open up the mix. He/she can’t do much with the high frequencies without some significant distortion, but I hear it as an improvement. Way less flat

@@bearzdlc2172Yes. El Pintor is the only stinker here. Marauder is incredible.

[Verse 1]

You say, "alright, big deal, so what?"
My kind of heroes are weak
Restless, alone, on the street

[Verse 2]
Lately, I'm always awake
Shit, I got no friends to meet today
Go swing your heels from the dark
You'll go spin your wheels
No shame, it's the real drain on your heart
You say, "alright, big deal, so what?"
[Chorus]
"Release me now", she said
We're always never ending
It's just the prospects that took your blames
All at once
We held it tight enough to reach inside
And nobody changed
And no reply
We're breaking down
All at once
All at once
We felt it time enough
To reach inside
And nobody blames
And so dignified could throw us down
All at once
The answer, the answer, the answer

This band make b-side songs better than some LP's songs.
All At Once? Holy Crap - Sometimes I am just astounded by how Life Imitates Art.
Sounds GREAT! Thanks!
this is an amazing song
Deseo tanto que puedas hacer una de What is What. Saludos. 💗✨
El Pintor better get a true version with all 4 bonus tracks. theyre all so good and way better than half the songs on the actual album
I thought there were only three bonuses The Depths, Malfeasance and What is what. What's the fourth one?
