I personally liked the jeffree star ones (I find the quantity and price are worth it) or make your own :) It'll slowly plump your lips over time with increased blood flow and exfoliation also allows for smoother application and thus preventing that deep lip wrinkle our lips get with matte lips. It won't be overnight but over time but think of it as skin care.

I was taught that way from a professional makeup artist friend for red and dark lipsticks at least. you have to use a matching liner for it to work. you apply the lipstick just short of the edge of your lips blot THEN line. and then if you want to brighten it add some more lipstick to the middle. For dark colors and reds its been a life saver for me because it keeps the outline really really clean and sharp.
ion all honestly I use elf and it looks great all day. first apply a primer for oily skin to your oily areas and a regular one to your cheeks and non problem areas. If you are especially oily apply a light coat of finishing powder before foundation. I've been living for that method this summer and my experience has been amazing
The line is kind of unavoidable to me, I exclusively use very non-neutral colors so to speak (black and very dark colors) which creates a very obvious contrast compared to the pink lip color. What's worse is that my inner lip, that wet part that's impossible to get lipstick on, extends quite far out - probably because I have rather full lips - and is almost visible even with my mouth closed! Oh well, I've let that stop me from wearing lipstick for YEARS and I'm just sick of it now, so I'll ignore that stupid pink line and just wear my gorgeous lipsticks anyway. I've been using Baby Skin by Maybelline (it's a silicone mattifying primer) to help with the line on the inner lip. After my liquid lipstick is completely dry, I take the tiniest amount of the primer and dab it on my inner bottom lip, then I gently rub my lips together. Because the product is silicone based, it won't break up the liquid lipstick and it actually keeps the color matte while providing a little bit of slip so my lips don't feel so dry. I find that oil based products like balm or vaseline disintegrates matte liquid lipsticks, which is why I use that stuff to take everything off. I've tried other silicone primers, but I like the baby Skin the best. Higher end primers are sometimes a little on the "watery" side, which is great for your face, but feels weird on my lips, lol. 😊

For someone who has never worn make-up ever in their life and recently wore liquid lipstick for the first time - I'm pretty proud that I avoided all of these errors apart from not prepping my lips first but my lips were really moisturized and everything anyway XD
I didn't look this up (tho I'm sure there are good guides) before doing it, but I needed to exfoliate my lips and didn't have the money or time to place an order for one online, so I decided to make my own safe lip scrub (note: I am not allergic to tree nuts--if you are, coconut is not an option). Coconut oil from the grocery store, turbinado sugar (also called "raw" sugar--basically any sugar that comes in that harder, coarse, rock-type form), and I added a little bit of vanilla because I had it. Mix it all up really well in a bowl and then transfer it to a clean, dry container with a lid. I did that and I've been using it every day, sometimes every other day (but never going longer than that or else I notice dead skin issues with my matte lip routine). I wear liquid lip every day. I know not everyone has coconut oil on hand. It's relatively affordable to buy. I worried the sugar could dissolve in it somehow, but that hasn't happened. We've got 3 adults living in our apartment and our bathroom gets hot and steamy several times a day--hasn't hurt the DIY lip scrub I made. I think the branded lip scrubs are more likely to have good extras like Vitamin E in them, so I totally get why people buy them, but if you don't care and want to do it cheaply, it's possible to DIY your lip exfoliation. Vanilla is a bit boring (or bad if you're someone who hates vanilla), but I think it was a good choice in my case. We already had coconut oil on hand because my partner and our son have African hair and we make their leave-in hair treatment with coconut oil as an ingredient.

my problem with mate liquid lipsticks (i have those from NYX) is that they dry off my lips soo quickly and crease, i have to take it off 1 hour later because it's so cringey to feel my lips dry etc, i do exfoliate my lips a lot and hydrate them at night and before putting the lipstick but idk, i feel like to wear matte lipsticks you have to have bottox in your lips so there's no little wrinkles

and a suggestion what i do when wearing any stickier liquid to matte lipstick is to take a powder of a similar shade and blot it into the lips with a beauty blender it removes that sticky feeling! You can also use a shimmery powder to add a shimmer to the lip while keeping that matte velvety feel :)

I wouldn't put foundation on your lips before liquid lipstick because the oil and other ingredients in the foundation can compromise the integrity of the lipstick, and break it down faster, meaning it will transfer when it shouldn't.

I have a revlon ultra hd lip lacquer in smokey topaz and I am just adoring it! I've found that with this specific revlon line you need to apply the product very thinly because it is crazy pigmented. It is such an awesome feeling when you find something that just works for you! I feel like women end up with a lot of makeup in shades that are pretty decent but not perfectly what they want so when you do find that something is exactly right its just the most awesome thing!

When I smile or if I move my lips too much my liquid lipstick cracks and looks awful. It does not stay smooth. How can I solve this problem?! I've noticed the bigger your lips the smoother the liquid lipstick looks.
A tip I use is to get the moisturizing top balm stuff from the two in one liquid lipsticks from Maybelline(i believe! it's from the drugstore so not expensive) It's made to go on top of liquid lipsticks without messing with the color or the matte appearance and that way you don't have to buy a different lipstick to match every liquid one you own.

my problem with mate liquid lipsticks (i have those from NYX) is that they dry off my lips soo quickly and crease, i have to take it off 1 hour later because it's so cringey to feel my lips dry etc, i do exfoliate my lips a lot and hydrate them at night and before putting the lipstick but idk, i feel like to wear matte lipsticks you have to have bottox in your lips so there's no little wrinkles

Khalisa Gawjusx I have found it's very thick and full coverage so you don't need much to cover your whole face. It's very matte so maybe not for dry skin or need to mix with a less matte foundation. I like it more than other L'Oréal foundations x

and a suggestion what i do when wearing any stickier liquid to matte lipstick is to take a powder of a similar shade and blot it into the lips with a beauty blender it removes that sticky feeling! You can also use a shimmery powder to add a shimmer to the lip while keeping that matte velvety feel :)

This looks like a Don't - Don't - neither of those applications look good. Applying lipstick outside the lipline almost always is very noticeable, and most people that have a sense of esthetics would say that you are ruining your lip shape by erasing the cupid's bow

sometimes I put lipbalm on my lip and sometimes I don't,but when I don't put lipbalm before I put my liquid lipstick it is ok,the texture is not that bad and the texture of the lipstick is like matte.

I wouldn't put foundation on your lips before liquid lipstick because the oil and other ingredients in the foundation can compromise the integrity of the lipstick, and break it down faster, meaning it will transfer when it shouldn't.

I have a revlon ultra hd lip lacquer in smokey topaz and I am just adoring it! I've found that with this specific revlon line you need to apply the product very thinly because it is crazy pigmented. It is such an awesome feeling when you find something that just works for you! I feel like women end up with a lot of makeup in shades that are pretty decent but not perfectly what they want so when you do find that something is exactly right its just the most awesome thing!

When I smile or if I move my lips too much my liquid lipstick cracks and looks awful. It does not stay smooth. How can I solve this problem?! I've noticed the bigger your lips the smoother the liquid lipstick looks.

A tip I use is to get the moisturizing top balm stuff from the two in one liquid lipsticks from Maybelline(i believe! it's from the drugstore so not expensive)
It's made to go on top of liquid lipsticks without messing with the color or the matte appearance and that way you don't have to buy a different lipstick to match every liquid one you own.
