Derek is also one of the best characters and Meadows, Tosh, Galloway, Smithy. When Derek and Meadows went orienteering in around season 18 was hilarious. Went downhill by 2004.
I am now beginning to understand why so many leave comments saying that Wray was a good DCI and why when Wray left, Burnside thanked him and sincerely said he'd learnt a thing or two from him. I don't think I've seen anyone being able to handle Burnside as deftly as Wray did in this particular episode. It also changed my impression (for the better) of Wray too.
Burnside! What a character!
Primeval, one of the best discriptions of Burnside yet.
But effective.

“He couldn’t inspire a rabbit to reproduce”…Ted Roach😂
I’ve only just released that Desmond McNamara(Alfie Dobbs) had passed away 2 years ago I loved the way Alfie wound up Burnside
Well well well, Alfie...or should I say Mr. Anderson... methinks the Matrix is at work again...!!!
It doesn't do well to get on the wrong side of Frank 😂
Dont mess with Ted Roach ! Loves a good ruck !😅
Without Burnside and roach the bill isn't so interesting

I never knew Recall & Jack from London’s Burning was in The Bill
The Bill, Eastenders, Casualty, Holby City...They all swap round. Smiffy has been in Casualty, Holby and The Bill (twice).
The actor who plays sicknote in London’s Burning appears in the episode Action Book(S6e48) as Rob Price a murder victim’s father
