OK, I'd never watched more than a full episode of this before I found this one first (I’d found the one I published a couple of days ago after I found this one), now I see why people say it was so bad it was brilliant.

Ah Mr Smiths, the spiritual home of The Hit Man and Her. When the building was demolished in 2015 after a bad fire, the Warrington Museum had an exhibit on the building, which The Hit Man and Her featured heavily over. I’m sure Pete Waterman even paid a visit, but he doesn’t live too far away.

    WOW! What memories!
I practically LIVED at Smiths from 1989 - 1993 as I worked just around the corner at the Postern Gate pub & got in to Smiths on concession for just £1. It was an amazing time! It's wonderful to see Wiggy in this video too, shaking his stuff! Thank you for posting xx

Fight Central Mr Smith's was, saw some massive fights inside and outside on a regular basis there. Super rough it was for a club back in the 90's.

I always found Warrington as a whole to be dodgy at night in those days, it wasn't just Mr Smiths. And I'm speaking as someone who has lived in a lot of different towns and cities.

This was filmed about the time our family moved to Warrington. I've long since moved again, to the Midlands, but when I recently visited my parents and drove round Bridgefoot, I was sad to see Mr Smiths is no longer there.

I loved Warrington as a kid. My Nanna lived there, and Sankey Valley park was great during the 6 weeks holidays. Like an adventure playground.

I guess this is a night out at the disco/club for those who can't or won't go to a club/disco.

Kind of, except it was recorded around 10/11pm, quickly edited then broadcast around 1am.

@@stickytapenrust6869 I remember it being on at 4 in the morning. James whale radio show, a film, then this.

@@zaftra Think 4 in the morning was the Saturday one. Some ITV regions put on both halves on a Friday night separated by a film, the others split the two halves across two nights.

Only four channels but far better programming. Plus, news reporting that just reports the news without political bias. Good 🎶 also.

I'm not sure that he was bald, but Pete wasn't there to ogle, he is a pop/dance music mogul and clever businessman and wanted to use the programme to showcase artists on his own record label (PWL) which famously included Kylie Minogue & Jason Donovan, plus his production company which worked with artists like Rick Astley and Bananarama. He also had an interest in the acid house scene which was just about to take off.
