@@roberttreborableI know your comment is 4 years old, but I wanted to add to what you said about the song and lyrics being perfect for any generation. My classmates and I sung this song at our 5th grade primary school graduation in the 80s!! It was fun for all of us to sing it at graduation. We sang some other songs, at graduation too, but this one was all of our favourites and the one we had the most fun singing. The lyrics were ground into my brain from us practicing it so much and bc it really is a catchy and positive song. I never forgot the lyrics, even all these many, many years later! Since then, I’ve always sang the lines : “You’ve got to accentuate the positive. Eliminate the negative. Latch onto the affirmative. Don’t mess w Mr. in-between!” Any time I’d be telling myself or someone else to try to think & stay positive, to not dwell on the negatives, get all doom and gloom or work yourself into a tizzy over things, I’d just start singing those lines!! 🤣
You have done so well in so many areas! Focus on what you’ve done well! Yesterday the girls did not get out of the tub because you have told them to dry off first!!! Opal put the boxes of Chinese food in the refrigerator, put the card on outside, and asked me to scrap the plates!!! You’ve taught all that!!
THIS was good, solid, clean, & very genuinely TALENTED entertainment. compare to "Gaga" or "Madonna" or hip hop or "Rap". The world today is morally bankrupt: AND IT SHOWS.
I really love listening to this music, and this is the greatest song ever written...
So true the words are right for every generation .... Plus what an uplifting tune......

My friend, talent exists everywhere. I am certain someone with far more talent never even joined a single choir or tried to sing outside the car
