This is a well-presented, detailed, and thorough video of the battle. At the end of the video, it pays tribute to the significance of the battle toward the outcome of the Revolutionary War. As a son of Bennington, my grade school studied this battle, visiting the battle site for a field day and doing what would now be called a "terrain walk. In High School, I helped a friend make a detailed diorama of the battle for a US Social History class. In college, during a Military Science class at Norwich University, I combined all this into a report for which I got high marks.

Outstanding video presentation of the Battle of Bennington. It can be argued (and SHOULD be, imo) that Bennington was the turning point in the War for American Independence better known as the Revolutionary War in the United States of America.
The Battle of Saratoga is often called the turning point in the Revolutionary War. However, the Battle of Saratoga would likely never have been won by rebels seeking independence from King George of England if they had not been successful prior at Bennington. General John Stark's motto of "Live free or die" would never have been made and neither would be forgotten to history if he and Colonel Warner and their fellow patriots had not won the battle at Bennington in August of 1777.
    Live free or die!

John Stark is a legend! His impromptu command at the Second Battle of Trenton was masterful.

I'm very honored that my 6th great-grandfather fought in the Battle of Bennington alongside General John Stark. He was part of the "Berkshire Boys" from Massachusetts who arrived late the night of August 15th, eager to volunteer. I've been looking for a more detailed account of what he went through that day, and this video is by far the best account of it.
It appears that the Berkshire Boys and other volunteers formed one of the flanks on the German positions. It looks like they may have moved on to take part in the 2nd battle of Saratoga afterwards to reinforce, but I'm not sure. I don't have record of him fighting afterwards, so it is likely he was injured at Bennington or Northwards.

I was required to write a paper on the nine rules of war for me OCS commission; and pick out a battle in American history that applied the use of these rules in that battle. I chose the Battle of Bennington because it was a solid victory for the American side, and was fought chiefly by what is now days known as the state militias, or more commonly the State Defense Forces.

Who made this movie? There are no credits, no date. It skillfully stitches together first-person accounts to tell the story.

There are several members of our reenactment group (Warner’s Regiment) who create content for this page. This video, Hubbardton: Vermont’s Battle, and the Vermont’s Revolution series were made by one of our members to further our mission of public education on the Revolutionary period in Vermont. The Vermont’s Revolution series is soon to be replaced with a remake that is twice as long and of much higher production quality.

Nice video. I'm not sure that describing a battle fought in New York by men from New Hampshire qualifies as "Vermont's Victory." The inscription on the Bennington battle monument reads, "Dedicated to General John Stark and the 1400 New Hampshire men who came to the defense of Vermont, August 1777."
