So sad to have so many abandoned houses in one small area. Relocations for work? Interesting to see inside. Glad you didn't disappear thro some of those rotten floorboards. I hope you, Ken and Timo aswell as your viewers have a happy holiday. Thank you for all your videos this year. I enjoy yhem all.
Love seeing these villages…..love the history. 💖 sometimes I wonder how these people lived here with families and what was life like then….thanks for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it. Life was not that different from the small villages now. They still like to sleep on the floor here for example. Still cook on open fires etc. Just add a fridge en a tv.
Happy holidays! And if all goes well you will see a lot more this year. We are planning a long trip to see more of Turkey. Old stuff is high on the list.
When I travel, I get curious about what the inside of houses is like. I thought Turkey traditional houses have court yards but maybe I got it wrong. Thank you so much for sharing this.
Your comment had me thinking. Houses with a court yard I never see here. So I turned to google. A house with a court yard just felt Arabic to me. From what I found It shows that the court yard way of building is clearly from the Ottoman period. So that makes sense. The houses I find and visit are younger than that and here on the west coast they might have huge Greek influences. All so interesting. Thanks for pointing that out.
Hi Ellis, fantastic, I loved the house with all the the wood painted blue, and could imagine the houses all made safe and original, what a place it would be for all to visit, and sample a different way of life, as it used to be. Ah well, less of the dreaming. good idea though, if only we could win the lottery.🤗. see you next time. x
i am pretty sure they are not cheap , even though those houses are totally recked ! housing market is over the roof in Turkiye right now. But still what a lovely place . I would love to live.
I search for nothing. Just love them. There are no people living in those houses anymore. I only found one ever with somebody living in it. And I will not film somebody private space unasked.
I always want the to know the story behind why people just up and abandon their houses, made me laugh about the man wanting to get more friendly after a cup of tea
It's the tradition here in the country side that each generation moves into a new house after marriage, often on the same land. By the time the parent come to pass the the house stays empty and and slowly becomes storage or the barn. This is changing but still often the case. I think it's from the nomad tradition where you would be made your own Yurt after you married. And yes that man just kept pushing for my phone number haha.
these types of homes are from paste we grandparents live in here when they die its abondended and their childrens living in citys and dont care of these houses i have quite big village house in ılgaz from my grandparents 450 m2 village house villa its really really big and look like horror movie house from 1940 :D honestly i cant live there alone because its so scary to live here alone because no one here ur alone middle of the fakin forest and also village cemetary here its scary and when night no lights only house have lights outside is full of dark :D in Turkiye all villages almost like that especially my village is kinda scary with big abondanded old mansions
Thanks for this story. I love the dark in my village. I can see the stars, but I know I am the exception. And I just love those old houses. If I had a lot of money I would make sure they were restored.
I understand that you have an unpleasant situation with the butcher in Dalyan. Do you mean by "too friending" that person violates personal boundaries?
No, I had a tiny problem with the man that offered me tea. Not even a problem, but he wanted my phone number and would not take no for an answer. He kept pushing, so I left.
@@AtHomeInTurkey im glad that it's not a big deal. thx for sharing. please keep it up with the videos but no need to put yourself in a danger. You may seem like a stranger from the eyes of the villagers.

What are you searching in the abandoned houses, you should show those house where people still living!

❤
it would be good if someone invested in refurbishing the houses ,
Yes! Put them on a list and protect them. No more knocking them down! That is coming in places but not enough.
Is het tekoop ? is it for sale ?old abandonned
I don't know. But there are many all over the small villages.

How much is this in pounds. I would love to buy and live there
Who said is was for sale?
@@AtHomeInTurkey I never said I wanted to buy it.
I'm just asking the price of these types of properties.
And When I say live there I meant in Turkey.
What are those trees that look like 🍊 oranges but are not?!
Maybe Mandarin? No idea where in the video you spotted them
@@AtHomeInTurkey they are like everywhere along the streets in Turkey look like an orange 🍊 but taste terrible 😣
cennet hurması in turkish
@@machiavellian7490 That can be Turunç the original orange tree. Google on it!
@@AtHomeInTurkey Turunç ilkbaharda çiçek açtığında çok güzel kokar, tadı ekşi ve salatalarda limon gibi kullanabilirsiniz
Lost places?
I think they have a plan to save them in some places but mostly they get broken down to make room for big buildings that can make more money. Sadly.
