みんなが沖縄弁とか言ってるのは、ほぼ標準語ベースの言葉でイントネーションが沖縄とか、方言が今風に崩れた感じのを標準語に混ぜて話してるとかです。。
私が小さい頃は、方言しか話さないオジーが何言ってるのか全然わからなくて、ニコニコして頷いたりして後でお母さんに「さっき何て言ってたの？」って聞いてました😅

少々、縁起の良くない話をしますが、昨年私が病気をした時、命に関わる状況でした。でも同時期に京都の青年で白血病と戦っている方がいたのです。
彼の闘病は5年に及んでいました。まだ学生で京都大学・大学院に通い、病院からもリモートで授業を受け、将来の夢に向けて懸命に病気とも闘っていましたが、
私が退院した頃、彼の訃報が届きました。 私自身の病状よりショックな出来事でした。
あんなに強く「生きたい！」と･･･「ただただ、生きたい」との願いで頑張っている青年に病気は容赦なく、命を奪い取ってしまう。神様なんているはずがない。
そんな気分になりました。 私みたいな中途半端な人間がかろうじて生きられているこの世界って、どういう事？って思いました。
そんな私が今言える事は、医学・医療技術は捨てたもんじゃないということと、病気は少しでも早く治療する事です。そうすれば、回復の可能性が高くなることは間違いありません。

What you hear like a whistle is a finger whistle. Okinawan finger whistle are not found in traditional music in other parts of Japan. Enliven the music like a shout. I was surprised to see the ordinary Okinawan audience play this well. A person from Okinawa told me that playing a traditional musical instrument is the essence of an adult female in Okinawa. I don't know if this is the case for young people today;)

沖縄の場合、この楽器は三線(sanshin）といいます。
中国から伝わり改良され三線になり、日本に伝わり三味線になった経緯がありますね。
僕も沖縄県民ですが、三線の音聞くと、自然と耳を傾ける素敵な楽器です。
沖縄と奄美の古い歌い方(民謡：min-yow［/ɔː/])は独特的で、確か沖縄の場合高温は裏声は使わず、奄美は裏声が主流だったと思います。
わかりやすいように発音記号探して入れてみましたが、間違えていたらごめんなさい。

私は関東で生まれ育ったので、沖縄も奄美も音楽的には判別が困難でごっちゃに理解していました。
伝統的な沖縄民謡を継承されていた方が言っていた事ですが、『沖縄に島唄はありません。島唄は奄美群島の音楽です。』と語っていたことに衝撃を受けました。
〝そんなこと知らなかった！〟という事と、〝その地域にある人であっても、そんなに拘って線引きするんだぁ･･･〟という事がショックでした。
この歌は〝島唄〟というタイトルで、歌詞の内容は沖縄での戦火の状況を歌っているのに･･･沖縄or奄美の方々にすると複雑な気分になる方もいらして･･･🥺
どちらが古い、新しいはわかりませんが、地域性やアイデンティティーを大切にしたいと想う気持ちがある方々はいい意味で拘りがあるのかと思ってしまいました。😊
PS：そういった諸々があったとしても、この〝島唄〟は素晴らしい楽曲だと感じますし、異なる文化が融合して新しいモノが誕生する事もまた、素敵だと個人的には思います。🌈

沖縄の方言で唄っている歌は本土に住んでいる日本人でも和訳しないと意味が分からない特別な言葉です。このような言葉は沖縄がかつては琉球王国という日本とはまた別の国だった為なのです。私達本土に住んでいる日本人でも美しいと感じる言葉です
個人的な経験だけど、戸川純が歌った「海ヤカラ」という曲。ウチナーグチの歌詞をそのまま読むより、併記されていた英語訳の方が意味がよく分かったという事実。
ちなみに「海ヤカラ」とは「Seaside Boy」って意味だそうです。

Hai sai! New here...found you by looking up my favorite Okinawan singer Natsukawa Rimi. I'm half Okinawan and sing her music for my mother often. There are several things you'll hear in Okinawan music...the whistle, the chant "iia saa saa" and "su su su". Check out her singing Asadoya Yunta...look at the video with the drummers on stage with her. You'll hear all of this in amazing Rimi style! Okinawa is a deeply emotional place...my first home. My survived the war decades ago, but the pain is still present. 💔 Sorry if I'm repeating anything others might've written, as I don't usually read other's comments.

The other day, the oldest human remains in Japan (as of 2022) were discovered on Ishigaki Island in Okinawa. Almost the whole body of bone remains, and it is estimated to be about 27,000 years old. Moreover, there is evidence that it was artificially buried, and even now, research is still ongoing, assuming that there was a community, culture, and thought from that time. About 600 years ago, the islands of Okinawa started the kingdom system due to the increase in external pressure in addition to external exchange. That kingdom is called the "琉球王国 / Ryukyu Kingdom".

The Shima-Uta of music is one of them. 島唄 / Shima-Uta is a word that indicates a genre, and there are various songs in Shima-Uta. This time, you reacted to "Shima-Uta", which was created with the theme of Shima-uta as a category.
It was created by Mr. Kazufumi Miyazawa / 宮沢 和史さん (from Yamanashi Prefecture) of THE BOOM who is not from Okinawa. (Mrs. Natsukawa is singing the Uchinaguchi ver.) BOOM's "Shima Uta" was a hit all over Japan, but many artists from Okinawa, including Mrs. Rimi Natsukawa, sing it as a cover song.
Even in Argentina in South America, this song was covered in Japanese, and it was a big hit locally. And this song was also selected as a cheer song for the Argentine team of the 2002 Soccer Japan-Korea World Cup. It was wonderful that this song impressed people who went around the earth halfway! Mr. Miyazawa, who created this song, once wondered if he could sing this song even though he was not from the island (Okinawa), and he once sealed it.
