I have been living in Massachusetts for 10yrs now. So I’ve been cold for a decade. Please, let me know what life look like in Gainesville Florida. I would like to leave Massachusetts for Gainesville. Thanks in advance for your advice.
i was born here in June of 84...my mom moved me and my oldest sister Amy to California when were baby's so i have always had a special place in my heart for Gainesville, FL! Will be back soon!
I went to UF from 2013 to 2017, the best four years of my life. Gainesville was the place that gave me my friends, my first love, my warmest memories, and so my memory of it will always be an overwhelming nostalgia for the very essence of the "good old days."
Very nice Andrew. I came to Gainesville from New Orleans twenty five years ago to raise my young family and so glad I did. You captured a LOT of the essence of what it is that makes us all happy to be working, playing and living our lives here. I may travel the world but I will always come back home to Gainesville.
Hello Dave, I left Gainesville about 5 years ago and am planning on returning in another 5 years. Paul, from Tall Paul's, mentioned that he could see Gainesville being the next Portland or Austin by 2024. With that being 5 years away, and with you living there for 25 years and seeing the city shape itself, do you think Gainesville has the ability to grow into the next US hotspot?
This is wonderful! As a Gainesville native, people wonder why I stayed here in my hometown and I think from now on I will show them this. This video pays tribute to so much about what I love about this place. Thanks for making it and loving our town! #GainesvilleLove #ThisisGainesville
I went to High School in Gainesville and graduated from GHS..Lived there for several years after that.My absolute favorite place to eat was always David's BBQ!!There is no other like it on the planet.
Nice video, but as a Gainesville resident, I think they spend WAY too much time focusing on UF and the surrounding area. There is a LOT of Gainesville that doesn't have anything to do with UF or downtown.
Nice overview of G'ville! I grew up in Austin and it is great to see creative, individualistic aspects of Gainesville emerge, which is the essence of Austin. But what's with the background music? With all the featured local music, why was none of it used as the video back ground?
I don’t know about anybody else but this makes me cry , I love this city and the people here every here is just great , there’s no city like gainsville
Loved your vid on Gainesville and UF! Planning on visiting next month and hopefully attending UF for grad school in the future. Extra motivation with this vid! Keep up the good work!
Gainesville is a lovely place to live, there's a mixture of everything and you can find a niche to hang on to and thrive. It is like most college towns in america, I will agree with that. Also if it wasn't for UF Florida's Gainesville would not be in the map. I lived there for a couple of years but when graduation time came I was ready to move on and get out of there.
This is a really great video. Wish you would have included places like the CMC though, which has been part of the Gainesville community for the past 20 years!
I have never been to big, big cities. So Gainesville is the biggest city I know, because most other cities in florida are like towns or villages. Gainesville is small but also big enough. I fucking love living here 💕
would love to move there with my daughter for her college but when i told her about the humidity and the hurricanes lol she asked me dramatically "why would would you want me to move there?!!!" nyahahahahahahahaha
"I've been using scissors to cut paper for about 8 years now" I knew what he meant, but still found the wording funny! It's like, congratulations! You've finally passed kindergarten. Haha
I really loved this video, you did a great job! I think you should make a part 2 and add Gainesville raceway. My husband and I race out there a lot and gator nationals would be a great time to get some good footage.
Very nice and much appreciated representation of our special town. However!!! There is no mention of the cultural and visual arts; theHarn, the Phillips Center of the Performing Arts, the Museum of Natural History, the Butterfly Museum or the SF Fine Arts Hall are not even mentioned. That's a big gap for your viewers. I'd suggest your video would benefit from including these important features that Gainesville has to offer.
I'm sorry, but let's be honest here... Gainesville is NOT a city, it is a village. And unfortunately, it sucks! ~Fellow Gator (Can't wait to get out for grad school!)
My husband and I just moved to Gainesville from Massachusetts.
It's beautiful.
Let me know more. I’m looking to relocate with my husband as well. 💕💓

Born, raised and still here. Great video!

Thank you for this video! I moved up north from Gainesville FL a month ago and I'm feeling a bit homesick. This video made me smile. :)

I really feel you did a great job showing all the amazing things we have here :) I especially love the paper art segment, healthcare, and the food! :D

Great job portraying the awesomeness of Gainesville

I love your video! 🥰 Thanks from the mom of a new UF student from Iowa.
My girlfriend and I are considering moving out here...this video helps the push...thank you for making the video.
I'm moving to Gainesville from Vero Beach within the month and this video has encouraged my decision to relocate to such a beautifully cultured city.
Still here
Great interpretation of Gainesville.

I'm a proud Gainesville resident!

Rodney mullen was also from gainesville and he was the one who created most street skateboarding tricks..
Gaiensville has things that make it special and awesome, but its just like any other state college town.

I love Gainesville ❤️
Other bans from Gainesville: Hot Water Music, Less Than Jake, Against Me!
To keep Gainesville's charm we don't need more people moving here.. That's the problem 🙄
C’mon...sharing is caring!
cool vid!!!!!

"Not your average city" - yep, it's not even a city. More like a town or village.
